Stayed here for 2 nights as part of a safari tour. Rooms set in beautiful gardens with lots of monkeys and other wildlife to see. We were incredibly lucky that had 2 clear weather days and the view of Mount Kilimanjaro really is spectacular. Rooms were the smallest of the 3 Sopa lodges we stayed in but perfectly adequate and clean and also were detached lodges Food at breakfast and dinner buffet with lots of choice. Nice bar and outdoor fire pit was a lovely touch. Definitely recommend

This place looks and feels like Africa. It’s so pretty with its tree lines cobble stone paths and beautiful gardens. The staff are amazing and the rooms look like traditional African huts. They are spacious, clean and very funky. The restaurant serves good quality delicious meals and the bar makes great cocktails at a very reasonable price. We only stayed one night here, but I wish it was longer.

Nice property 20 minutes away from the gates of Amboseli park. The villas are fairly large in size and the beds are comfortable There is a mosquito net in each room that housekeeping sets up each evening The property gardens are nicely kept There is an excellent view of Mount Kilimanjaro from the breakfast lounge The bathrooms could be updated a bit more Overall it is a great value all inclusive option given the price you pay

Overall the stay was nice. The room is huge and clean. The location is perfect with the Kilimanjaro. The food they offered was really good as well. Sometimes they used too much oil but the taste was good. The staff of the restaurant is friendly. For these reasons i would like to stay again. However, be careful. The man in masai clothes has a negative vibe with a huge smile on his face. The ladies selling products are annoying and begging you to buy stuff. A good reason why I won't buy anything. I've booked a massage for $ 60,00. The massage was ok. Not great but ok, not worth the $ 60,00. Eventually with checking out they charged 8880 KES which is $ 68,00. I didn't realise this on time. I've asked to refund the $ 8,00 but they wouldn't do it because they use a specific rate which isnt the official one. So be careful when booking extras. Make sure you pay in real dollars to pay the exact amount. If you don't, they will charge more and steal money.

Lovely setting with views all around. Rooms are quite small but perfectly comfortable my only comment would be it a was a little difficult to get in an out of the bed with the large surround. The dining room room was a little crowded at dinner time but the selection of food was very good Once again the staff were lovely

Second Sopa hotel we’ve stayed in during our stay in Kenya. Again we received a lovely welcome and our rooms were spacious and clean . The pool area was great fun for the kids to dust off after a day of safari. Views of Mount Kilimanjaro are spectacular from the garden. We enjoyed meeting new people around the campfire at night and also had an informative Hemingway tour with Emmanuel. I found the female chefs very friendly and helpful in explaining the food choices. Highly recommend the stir fry. Good selection at each meal and really enjoyed the lunch provided out on the safari. The women’s community shop is also worth a visit and I think that that this is a great idea to have on the grounds of the hotel for providing income to local women. Please support this if you go. In comparison to Lake Nakuru’s sopa this is definitely more busy which meant at night it was harder to find a table inside for evening meals. I think that they need slightly more waiting staff to clear the tables to enable quicker turner arounds so maybe take a jumper in case you need to eat outside at dinner or avoid eating between 7:30-8:15pm as this is the busiest time. Another slight minor downside was that there was no fridge in the room. There was also good evening entertainment with Massi dancing and jumping one night and a guitar singer another night. There’s also a TV in the lounge which the kids appreciated.

We spent our final night in Kenya here and what a treat it was! The buffet breakfast/lunch/dinner served many options for us as vegans/vegetarians and was absolutely delicious. The staff were friendly and so helpful. We had a swim in the pool before an evening game drive and it was the perfect way to relax after 10 days in Kenya. In the morning we were welcomed with brilliant views of Mt Kilimanjaro too. It was a short drive to Amboseli game reserve, but the drive itself had many animals on it too. My only regret is not booking another night here!

In comparison to other hotels we stayed our during our safari, we felt this hotel felt far more commercialized. The meals had a large variety of options both local and western which gave a great opportunity to try things. The evening entertainment felt unnecessary and a little awkward at times. The rooms very comfortable but we didn’t appreciate a member of staff ignoring our decline to be walked back to the room and them doing it anyway and still expecting a tip. As with our other stays, the hot water was limited but as to be expected.
