娘の妊娠の戌の日に神社でお参りして 野鶴亭に一泊しました。その日は次の日が祝日だったのでどこも旅館も満席状態でしたが、一つ空きがありすぐに予約を入れました。 旅館を選べない状態だったけど、 野鶴亭に着いてみて、びっくりしました。まさか、こんなに風勢のある旅館だったなんて、最後の一部屋だったけど、本当にラッキーでした。 接客もとても良くて、夜食も朝食も素晴らしい。特に朝食は小鉢に少しずつ素敵に盛ってあり、大満足の日となりました。また、泊まれたらいいとおもいました。

Hotel Kyocera is probably one of the largest hotel in Kirishima. It has two buildings ( main and annex) and looks quite good architecturally. They are connected by a bridge on the 3 floor which has the walking escalator- and a display of the various places that have been listed as world heritage sites in Japan. Inside the main building, there is a glass church which is ideal for weddings. In the basement, there is a large onsen, and spa. It is certainly a good place for having a holiday. The overall condition of the rooms are good- and the rooms are of good size. My room faces the East and has a perfect view of sunrise! 全室露天風呂完備で、リファのドライヤーで女子は絶対嬉しい温泉で肌も髪もツルツルです。 食事は離れで完全個室食、味も量も全部満足。 外に喫煙所もあるので、スモーカーも安心 住宅街の中に、急に現れる温泉旅館です。 食事も10分ずらしてスタートするので、プライベートが全て守られて全宿泊者と全く顔を合わせることがありません。地酒も美味しい、サントリー山崎、与市、碧とウイスキーも高級酒取り揃えてます。 温泉は45度で熱めですが、水で薄めて温度を下げれば何時間でも入っていられる。 温泉種類が重炭酸水なので、角質を落としてくれる効果があるので、肌が本当にツルツルです。 じゃらんの九州地方で毎年上位に上がっているらしく選んで本当に良かったです。 霧島に泊まることがあればまた行きたい宿です。

霧島登山の前泊と後泊として2連泊しました。 宿泊理由は、バスで霧島登山をしようとすると国分駅から霧島温泉行の始発バス乗車が必須となるためです。 朝食が6時半スタートでバス乗車前に利用できる点もポイントが高かったです。 ホテル自体は改札口とは反対側の駅裏となりますが、ホテルからの買い出しに利用しやすいスーパーマーケットが目の前にあるため、利便性は高いです。 また跨線橋にもエレベータがあるため、移動は苦になりません。 連泊利用だったこともあり、登山後の衣類を無料のコインランドリーで洗えて乾燥までできたので利便性が高かったです。(洗剤だけは別売り) フロントの隣に置いてあるレンタサイクルも借りて、近くにある日当山温泉まで移動し温泉に浸かっていました。 なお、このホテルは3階建てなのですが、ビジネスホテルとしては非常に珍しく客室が1階に設けられています。 さらに珍しいこととして、室内のテレビはスマートテレビでした。

We decided to add on one night in Kagoshima prior to embarking on our second Yakushima trip. We did this specifically to try out Myoken Ishiharaso - while the ryokan is a relative unknown in foreign circles, the its prominence among Japanese folks as one of the top onsen and culinary ryokans prompted to extend our trip to try it out. We're definitely glad we did! First, the location - even though it's a mere 15 minutes drive from Kagoshima Airport, we felt like we were a world away; the ryokan is on the outskirts of Kirishima National Park, and is situated along the banks of the pretty and quaint Amori River. It's definitely a place you can easily visit from Tokyo or Osaka given its proximity to the airport, and feel like you're in an off-the-beaten-path destination. On the other hand, it's quite a ways away from Kagoshima City proper... if you want to see the sights (Sakurajima, Sengan-en, etc.) then you definitely should plan for a long day or spend two nights in the area. Note that check-in at Ishiharaso is 2PM, and you'll want to get there not much later than that, if you intend to enjoy everything that the ryokan has to offer. We stayed in a Suite in the” Ishikura” annex building called ”Kirara.” It's generously proportioned (85 square meters) and features a separate bedroom/living room/tatami room, and an open-air outdoor Onsen (natural hot springs) bath on the room's balcony. The added benefit of staying in an Ishikura room (and a handful of the top suites in the main building) is the fact that you can elect to have meals in your own room. We chose Kirara due to preferring a more comfortable (to us), Western-style accommodation - Kirara's bedroom has two double beds, and the living room is furnished with real sofas. Please note that in-room meals are served in the Tatami room. We really enjoyed the variety of Onsens that are available at Ishiharaso. The in-room open-air Onsen was awesome. It's different from many others in that it's full of Iron, and you can really smell it. Not a super pleasant aroma, but it's natural, and it's not overpowering in its aroma. What was impressive is the fact that it's not only is it of the ”kakenagashi” (24/7 constant free-flowing) variety, but the volume and force is unlike any other Onsen we've experienced. We could tell that they are close to the source, and there is an abundance of the hot springs water that Ishiharaso taps into. We also tried out several of the Onsens on the property, and they were all interesting in their own unique way. There is a pretty pathway along the river that leads guests to the main ”Daiyokujo” (segregated communal bath) that is large and indoors in a separate building that also contains a lounge/cafe. In addition, there are several outdoor Onsens scattered througout the river banks, including a footbath, a mixed-gender bath, and two private rental baths for couples/families/friends. A very old hotel from the looks of it. Check-in was done in an Izakaya adjacent to the hotel, as the reception was closed for some reason. The room itself was in quite a shocking condition. Stains on the carpet, duvet cover; scuffs all over walls and bathroom floors; the shower head was falling off its hinges and had to be held to have any kind of decent wash and the water spurted in a dozen different directions, annoyingly. TV was not used but had a note beside it saying that it doesn’t turn off properly. The problems were quite endless. Location-wise, served it’s purpose by being walking distance from Kagoshima airport. I doubt it would be of any use to people wanting to go to Kagoshima city proper. The old lady owner was very kind, though.

Proche de l’aéroport de Kagoshima, après être descendu dans la vallée. Dès l’arrivée, le personnel est très aimable mais la chambre est grande comme un mouchoir de poche ; mieux vaut ne pas avoir de malles pour voyager. Dîner et petit-déjeuner satisfaisants. En revanche, nous avons eu du mal à comprendre le fonctionnement de la climatisation qui fournissait ou une température ambiante très froide, ou très chaude au petit matin. L’ Onsen privé attenant à la chambre est formidable et suffisamment grand pour deux, et j’en ai bien profité. Parking gratuit disponible sur place.
