Hotel berhampiran Haad Wai Nam, Ko Pha-ngan District

Visited a few days after the Full Moon Party and the beach was pristine. It is rated as the best beach on the island, and I would agree. The hotel is located at the end of the beach in between two lovely restaurants and set back slightly from the beach. The rooms are big, extremely clean and had the most comfortable bed of our entire trip. We asked for smaller pillows and this was delivered immediately. The hotel was covered in Frangipani trees and fruit trees that attracted one lone monkey during our visit. This hotel is amazing for the price and the hotel staff were polite and friendly but not intrusive - just right. We asked to be picked up from the ferry and they took us directly to the hotel or you will be walking on the sand to get there. The hotel owner picked us up and gave us some great tips for our stay on the island. We have already recommended this hotel to some friends we met in Bangkok.

Thankful that this property was available for us to book during the busy April 2023 Full Moon Party season. For a beachfront property with a swimming pool, I find their rates are super cheap. We arrived at noon time and we were allowed to check in immediately. Our room was spacious and came with a veranda. The place could be cleaner but it never got a point that we felt it was bothersome. Make sure your windows are locked! On our third night, we discovered our windows were unlocked from the get go but luckily all our belongings were intact. The staff were friendly and helpful. The resort is within walking distance to the Full Moon Party and Haad Rin Pier so that's definitely a huge plus. If you're planning to party and just need a decent and affordable place to crash, then this is it.

We were here for 4 nights as a couple. Basically we liked our stay very much, but we can not recommend the small bungalows. We stayed in the cheapest bungalow and it was so small that you could not even place the open suitcase. In addition, windows and doors were not tight, so we had many mosquitoes in the room. Unfortunately, the air conditioner was also right above our heads, so we both caught colds. When using the shower, the whole bathroom floods because the drain is at the other end of the room. Also, there are no electrical outlets in the bathroom. But otherwise the room was clean and the bed was large and comfortable. We especially liked the hotel grounds. It is really in the middle of the beach, there is soft sand everywhere and the restaurant is also right at the water. There is also a pool table and a ping pong table, both of which we used very often. Special praise must be given to the helpful, friendly hotel staff, who were always eager to make one's stay as comfortable as possible. When we arrived the first evening, our window would not close. There were some communication difficulties with the ladies at the reception because they really didn't understand a word of English. In the following days, however, all the ladies at the reception could speak perfect English, which made communication much easier. Nevertheless, the ladies gave us a new room for one night, which was a great relief. Right next to the hotel is a scooter rental. We rented a scooter here, which was really uncomplicated and cheap. In the area there is very cheap and delicious street food, for example at ”Mama Thai Food” or ”Life Style” with super nice owners. The breakfast in the hotel is delicious and there is a choice of several dishes. However, it is ”a la carte” and you can only order one dish. The portion is a bit small for a grown man, so you would actually have to order 2-3 dishes to get full. Even the most expensive breakfast ”Milky Bay Breakfast” includes only 2 slices of toast, 2 fried eggs, a few mushrooms, 2 slices of tomato and a single piece of bacon (?!). Fortunately, free fruit (pineapple or watermelon) is always offered as well, which helps you get a little fuller. Conclusion: if I had to rate our room exclusively, I would only give the resort 2 out of 5 stars. I've slept in beachfront bungalows in Thailand that cost between 10€-20€ per night and were more comfortable and modern than our bungalow (50€ per night). However, due to the fantastic service, the great facility and the nice staff I give 4 out of 5 stars and the following advice: Don't book the smallest, cheapest bungalow! We saw the better rooms from the outside and they looked really big and modern. If we had stayed in such a room, I would have definitely given 5 out of 5 stars!

Had terrible experience with the old lady who is a hotel owner/manager. Me and a friend of mine booked the hotel for 6 nights, turned up a day later than was supposed to and discovered that she put some other guests in the room. The explanation was that we didn’t notify the hotel that we would be 1 day late. The hotel has a right to do so according to their policies. But the lady’s attitude was horrible, no help was given (we came to the island during so called “Full moon party” time when even the worst hotels sell their rooms for crazy money). It was impossible to find anything at that time and we were tired and desperate after a long trip. So I suppose the greediness was the driving force to resell the room. No prior notification was given to me about the situation. The lady just said “leave” and was refusing to return money (I guess because she would lose the money if she cancelled herself). In the end the police helped us solve the situation and we had to move to another island. “Trip” also gave me quite a bonus for this. I love Thailand and their people but that was the worst experience for the whole trip

What an incredible place! Stunningly beautiful. We had a room overlooking the hills not the sea which was initially disappointing but had the most incredible sunset view. The restaurant closes at 8 which we did not know and just got in time, luckily as there is no where in walking distance. My partner has travelled Asia extensively and says best green curry ever! On checking in ( around 2.15) told that the room was not ready until 3 which meant hanging around. We discussed a later check out the following day to recoup the hour which was agreed. On check out we where met with sarcasm by the man on reception and it was made difficult to get a taxi or transfer a we had ‘checked out late’?? This did mar my experience as I was faced with an intimidating passive aggressive member of staff.

I’m a single woman in my early 30’s travelling alone. I arrived in what I thought was a 4* hotel but the place seemed unorganised, dirty and empty. I knew it was the start of the season so wasn’t expecting it to be busy but I did not see one other guest staying there. I checked in to what was a very long and slow process with not a soul in sight just dogs barking at me and a family that lived on site staring at me. I had been travelling all day was very tired. I went to get into bed and I found insects in my bed and spiders… there was also mould and mildew under the headboard!!. The maids came rushing into my room changing the bedsheets and apologising. It was late and I was very tired. I didn’t have the energy to move rooms and then have to inspect it. I barely slept a very unsettling night. The next morning I was greeted with thousands of ants and now it was daylight I could see how unkept the property was and how dirty the premises were. I told them I was not happy and wanted to leave. They said they would show me to another room so I gave them a chance to redeem themselves, although the room was slightly better it was overlooking a disgusting pool that looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in years. The garden was overgrown a health and safety hazard as I tripped over all the overgrown plants. When I saw the other room they insisted I moved but then told me it will cost me double the amount to move rooms! I said absolutely not! The conditions I slept in the night before were uninhabitable and I should be compensated. I spoke to the manager on the phone and he was rude and told me that I stayed so I have to pay. He said I can get a refund for the second night if I wasn’t staying… as if he was doing me a favour.,, I said I most definitely am not staying another night and will be getting a refund and I should be getting a full refund for last night too! But he was patronising and rude saying ‘listen lady..’ he had zero hospitality and was arguing with me and me trying to express my point wasn’t getting me anywhere so I just checked out. The hotel takes your payment before you even see your room. So I would advise to just never stay there! Don’t waste your time, energy or money! You couldn’t pay me to stay there! Hopefully my review warns you away!! The owner also cancelled my booking on *********** meaning I couldn’t leave a review hence I am leaving one here. BE WARNED!! P.S I now know why the place was a ghost town!

Taman yang indah dan bersebelahan dengan laut, suasana yang baik. Bilik: Padat, bersih, dengan pelbagai kemudahan seperti peti keselamatan, pengering rambut, TV, teh, kopi, air minuman, tuala, dll. Penghawa dinginnya sejuk, air mengalir dengan baik, katilnya selesa, tetapi saya ingin untuk mempunyai bola kapas dan saya mahukan TV. Boleh membuka dan menonton YouTube dan Netflix. Sarapan: Ia adalah ***a bufet yang lazat dengan pelbagai pilihan. Kolam renang: Di sebelah pantai, terdapat banyak kolam, termasuk kolam dewasa, kolam kanak-kanak, atau anda boleh berenang di laut. Lain-lain: - Jika anda ingin menyewa kereta untuk mengembara di sekitar Koh Samui. Hubungi kaunter pelancongan di hadapan, mudah. - Hotel memerlukan deposit sebanyak 1,500 baht, yang boleh dibayar secara tunai atau dengan kad kredit. Jika anda tidak berbelanja di hotel, anda mendapatkannya semula.

We stayed for just one night at the Taatoh Seaview Resort. It was quite a journey from Koh Samui. The ferry was fun and Koh Tao was very busy when we arrived. However the hotel had a truck on standby to take us to the hotel. We arrived before the check in time and our room was ready almost instantly. We had the junior suite I think and it was two rooms, one for me and one for my daughter. The beds were extremely comfortable. The air conditioning was perfect. The mosquito nets very pretty and effective. We didn’t get any mosquito bites whilst staying there. The steps down to the beach are extremely challenging for someone my age (see my YouTube video) and the beach is very small. However, this isn’t about the beach it’s about the snorkelling in Shark Bay. My daughter had never done snorkelling and it had been a few decades since I had but we absolutely loved it. The hotel supplied life jackets, goggles, I think there was a small fee for flippers. It was brilliant. The food was lovely. Not expensive. Big hearty dishes. Great shrimps rolls. Amazing curry. The staff were the best but if our stay. From the young man who drove the shuttle service van to the ladies on the reception and all the staff. They were friendly, helpful, funny, relaxed and cool. They really helped make us feel comfortable and welcome. I’ve rated the hotel stay as 5 out of 5. It’s not a luxury Hilton… or a big brand hotel. It’s a quirky, handmade independent hotel in the jungle. It’s not perfect… sometimes it hard work… but put it all together and my daughter and I had the best time. We stayed 1 night. I was really sad to leave. I wanted to stay 100 nights. Chill, relaxed, quirky, challenging location, beautiful experience. In a very pleasant and quite busy location by the beach. Lots of ”life”, restaurants and activities offered in the immediate proximity of the resort. Our room was big and very comfortable with a pleasant terrace to enjoy the sunset. Great selection of dishes for breakfast... Overall an excellent choice for our first two nights in Koh Tao.

For some reason at the time they didn’t have any one at the front desk of this place but there are a few other places that are linked to this “Simple Life” brand. The room was alright, but this is definitely on the lower end in terms of luxury (it’s reflected in the price though).
