We took Highway Bus (2.5hr) from Fukuoka Airport to Kumamoto Sakuramachi Bus Terminal. Koko Hotel is directly connected to the bus terminal. Hotel was opened in June 2022 and there were now clear signages to Koko Hotel as we alighted from the bus. We took escalator to the 2F and take the lift to the 14F where the Hotel lobby is. From the lobby, we get a clear view of Kumamoto Castle. Our Superior Twin Room is very spacious and comfortable. We paid Y32,310 for 2 nights. It is 10 mins walk to the Castle, and 10 mins taxi ride to Kumamoto Station. Amu Plaza next to Kumamoto Station has plenty of eateries. Sakuramachi has Family Mart, restaurants and shops.

There are 2 Daiwa Roynet Hotels in Kumamoto, so we took a taxi to the wrong one! Fortunately, they are walking distance from each other. The taxi driver cannot read English, so you need to be clear that it is the Ginza Dori one. It is not near to the railway station, so tram ride is needed. We took a taxi because there were 2 of us and 2 large bags. I like the room size because of our large suitcases. There are many restaurants nearby. We love this place

Booked 2 rooms for 1 night, with breakfast included. The staff were friendly with nice service. Check in and check out process were quick with no problem. They don’t have a car park but I did find a parking instruction from someone else’s comment. You can ask for the staff for a parking coupon for cheaper price. Overall, this is a hotel that I’d recommend.

The hotel is clean, spacious, conveniently located and the staffs are very nice. It’s a very good value for money and highly recommended! And there is a parking lot next to the hotel at 1500 yen per 12 hours.

Nice and comfortable hotel, centrally located and walkable distance to near by attraction. Easy to find eateries, although the room is a bit small typical Japan mostly hotel however it is accommodated short trip, near to mall. Kumamoto is a nice city, worth to visit.

A very nice, modern hotel in the heart of the Kumamoto shopping district - very convenient location, right at the cross section of the two major covered shopping thoroughfares. Check-in only at 3pm and is an automated check-in/check-out system. Staff are very helpful and friendly. At check-in, you are free to choose your amenities from a very wide selection, including bath salts, face cleanser, moisturizer, coffee, green tea, etc. There is a giant tv in the room. No bottled water is provided. The room offers a full robe (short yukata and pants!). The rooms itself are very modern and renovated. There are two Family Marts and a 7-11 within a block of the hotel, as well as many dining and retail options within short walking distance. It is about a 15 minute walk to Kumamoto Castle and a 30 minute walk to Kumamoto Station.

This hotel is located within a short walking distance from the Kumamoto station. From the JR bstation exit it is on the left, just beside the Bic Camera store next. There is also a streetcar/tram stop so near the hotel which you can use to explore the city touristy spots! Shopping is convenient as the Kumamoto AMU Plaza (see another Review) is 5-mins walk away. The lobby is quite spacious and I quite like the intimate setting and lighting. Check-in was fast and 3 lifts serve well with travellers + luggages. The room design is quite standard and we have requested for x2 single bed, the room size is respectable. Noted that they're still using the physical hard key and not the keycard type. Hottel provided some amenities and complimentary bottled water in the room, sufficient for us . The Hotel is very into Going Green, there will be no housekeeping within first 3-days unless requested upon. This may likely be the model moving forward, to cut wastages. We had our breakfast at the nearby Pronto. The Kitaoka Shrine is just about 400 metres nearby, opposite direction of JR station so we recommend to drop by if time permits. A good stay experience. J

This has to be the best hotel I stayed in Japan so far. There are two parking lots that can be used. The basement parking is the most convenient, but it does get full. You have to use the p1 parking if it is full. From there you have to walk through the mall, which is a little bit of a hassle. Parking is 1000 yen per day, which is quiet cheap because I parked at the station parking lot by mistake and it cost me 600 yen for an hour. The only complaint is that in the sauna the shower faucet turns off after like 10 seconds, so you have to keep pressing it. Other than that the hotel is perfect. I would stay here next time in am in Kumamoto.

PPengguna TetamuMy wife and I stayed at the Nikko Kumamoto from 1/5/2023- 3/5/2023 on our second leg of the kyushu trip after a disastrous stay at Nikko Huis Ten Bosch( that I posted on another review). The hospitality was a complete turnaround . We arrived by taxi from the kumamoto station and upon arrival at rhe entrance, there was.a guest officer to help us unload and wheel in our luggage to the check in lobby. Throughout our stay whenever we stepped into or walked by the guests officers, they would greet us and acknowledge us. Despite the language barrier, I was especially touched by the sincere efforts of one of your male guests officer who wore glasses. I had intially wanted to visit Mount Aso but did not know how to go there using public bus. So one one evening I walked to the guest relations desk and stated my intentions and request for more info. I could tell the officer had difficulty trying to communicate in English but he was trying very hard to get the information across. Throughout our stay were given maps and shown by pen and drawings whenever we had questions to a location ie ramen restaurant while waiting for check in, where to shop for sneakers etc I really appreciated the hospitality and guidance despite the language barrier. We hope to be back in future and keep up the good work! I hope the nikko mgmt team can transfer this consistency to your other chains ie( nikko huis ten bosch which clearly lacks such direction ). I really hope when ever I'm in japan I can go back to a nikko

TTammy MakThe hotel is located right at one of the very busy shopping streets of Kumamoto with many shops and restaurants. We had had very pleasant stroll there and had dinner and snack. The room is very spacious and clean. The two matt glass windows cannot be opened per se. One has light and the other very little. The soap provided is of better quality than that of the other hotels I have stayed in. The dispenser says Kao.

PPengguna TetamuWe chose this hotel due to its view and location to Kumamoto castle. This was a nice hotel and the view from our room was perfect. We paid a little more for the breakfast since there were no close places to eat. They had covid protocols still but the food was delicious and we decided to stay 2 nights. For the price and view it was well worth it. We took a short taxi ride from JR Kumamoto to get there. Very pleasant staff and we would return someday!

PPengguna Tetamu数回利用させていただいています。昔からあるホテルでやや古さは感じますが、清潔で落ち着いて過ごせるホテルです。朝のバイキングは10Fのレストランなので朝日を浴びた熊本城が目の前に見えます。バイキングも変わらず美味しかったです。「熊本ラーメン」があり、最終日に朝ラーをしてしまいました。 お部屋の広さ、ベッドの硬さも満足ですが、お部屋の明かりが少ないので、スタンドライトがもう一つ欲しいことと、バスルームの蛇口が温度設定ができるタイプだとありがたいかな。ということで星4つのしました。 落ち着いた感じで快適な時間を過ごせたので満足です

LLove is the biggestI don’t like the smell in the bathroom. The room is quite small. But you have every thing you may need in the room: fridge, a cattle, hairdryer, flat tv screen and a bathtub.

PPengguna Tetamu良い所は交通の便が良い。駅から/へのバスは目の前に止まり、少し離れた所に電停もあります。 中心繁華街からは遠いけど歩けなくはない。バス市電を使えば更に便利。周囲に店は少ないけど、歩いてすぐに良い和食屋あり。 部屋は狭くて荷物整理には苦労します。ベッドの周りの足場だけ。机はたためる（それだけ狭い）鞄を広げられるのは入口への僅かな廊下スペース。 大浴場はこの手のビジネスホテルとしては普通、ユニットバスより快適だけど温泉宿ほどの良さは無し。 駐車場は併設の立体。雨でも濡れずにok。夜間は管理人が居なくなるので車の出入りも荷物の出し入れも不可。それで困るなら近くの駐車場を紹介されます。

PPengguna TetamuIt is a 8-minute walk to Kumamoto Sakuramachi Bus Terminal and Gyomu Supermarket (they are close to each other). Super convenient!!! Also Kumamoto Washington Hotel Plaza has Netflix which is a great way to unwind after a day's travel. However, the housekeeping forgot to clean out the fridge in which the previous traveller had left behind a box of pre-packed cooked veggies and slices of sausages.

PPengguna TetamuLocation is great for travellers with car like us, the room is clean and well facilitated with washing machine and kitchen. The bathroom is also come with a multi functional ventilation, you can hang your laundry with the drying mode on and they will be dried in few hours, that’s super nice. There is a 7-11 convenient store close by and couple of car parks available.
