Cosy Wood House

I booked for a 1 night stay on a drive back with my young son. The owners sent a note saying they couldn’t greet us and provided instructions for the room and key. It took about 10/15 minutes to work out which may have been because I was tired. Another family staying there helped me out and said they had experienced the same thing. About an hour later another couple turned up and we helped them sort out which room was theirs. My first comment is that we all turned up within a few hours of each other, tired after long drives and confused about what to do. I think it’s lazy of the owners not to greet people. That’s a basic courtesy when running this type of business and no one turned up particularly late. I hadn’t appreciated that all the rooms were off the shared kitchen and lounge area. Not a problem for one night but not obvious when booking. It is basically a lodge in a back garden, so no great views or scenery to look at. Some basic garden furniture to use which was fine, once I had put my son to bed and sat outside enjoying an after journey beer. There is nothing in the village to do. I asked in advance if there was a simple restaurant nearby and was told a pizzeria was 5 minutes away. More like 15 and arrived to be told I couldn’t eat without a reservation. It would have been nice if the owners could have given more information + phone number to make a reservation. They just told me there was a pizza place in………Another point of laziness from my point of view. No towels provided. I had beech towels but for the price I think it’s reasonable to expect towels. There is a coffee machine in the room but not plugged in and not positioned anywhere near a plug socket, and no capsules provided in room. What’s the point of that? Overall, if you plan to get their late, sleep over, and get gone in the morning the accommodation is clean and modern and will likely suit. If you want to park up, and go and get something to eat you will need to drive again and be organised in advance. There is nothing within walking distance and not an awful lot within driving distance. I wouldn’t consider it again on for a similar journey.

Accueil agréable.Chambre esthétique, propre avec terrasse mais la proximité de la pièce commune rend le lieu parfois bruyant. Un sas serait le bienvenu pour isoler.

Nous avons passé une nuit en octobre. Se réveiller dans le calme avec le chant des oiseaux et un coq voisin en compétition du chant, c'est un bonheur, loin du bruit habituel de la ville. Le petit-déjeuner est excellent, surtout le pain!!! Il est vraiment très-très bon.
