We had a very early flight, and We were tired , they kindly got our room quickly ready and gave us it for midday . Nothing was too much trouble. Great meal in the restaurant for dinner and the bar and atmosphere very old world . Top stay would definitely recommend any person to book. Pauline ( Sydney northern beaches)

Best Western Launceston is a basic, but clean, safe, comfortable well-priced hotel in the centre of Launceston. It's well positioned for the Botanic Gardens and monkey enclosure, right in the centre of the city, and not too far from the river. The room had everything you'd need, or expect, for this price. But what raised the place for me was the service. On a badly delayed flight I didn't arrive until after midnight, but the night manger appeared swiftly, helped me check in, and never once complained about being dragged to the front desk in the middle of the night.

Very minimal, shabby rooms of doubtful cleanliness, at maximal expense. Explicitly states that no service is offered, so to that extent at least the management is honest! But if you are staying two nights or more, you only get one night's worth of tea/coffee/milk/towels etc, even though you are paying for these items in the room charge. We had booked and paid for two rooms, but when I arrived the receptionist rudely said I could not check in 'because I did not have the same name as the person who booked', and I would jolly well have to wait until the person who booked arrived. (Actually, the person who booked was my daughter-in-law.) This is an extremely rude, discriminatory, and just plain stupid thing to say. For example, a husband and wife could have different names, and arrive separately. Also, I arrived at 3 pm, but what if my daughter-in-law arrived at 10 pm? The polite thing to do would be for the receptionist simply to ask if she could have a word with my daughter-in-law on the phone, or see a text message. Another point: the rudest, most aggressive utterance in the 'hospitality' industry is 'Can I help you?' spoken loudly through gritted teeth and rictus smile. The receptionist really ought to book a course at charm school. If - despite all - you are thinking of staying here, keep in mind that it is a very steep, long walk down to the city centre - and back up. The Coach House is not suitable for children, as the upper storey concrete walkways and steps are extremely dangerous for toddlers.

Well located property in the hear of Launceston CBD. Rooms are comfortable, simple but dated. Some lower floors have older bathrooms which have shower head and bathtub overdue for repair, but higher floors have new bathrooms which are nicer and more comfortable. Close to attractions- A must visit is the Cataract Gorge site located a short drive just outside Launceston CBD. Car parking on site which is convenient.

The hotel, which is an ex-convent, is very clean and comfortable, with super-comfy beds - and the best stocked bar fridge we've ever seen! The manager is passionate about the hotel, generously sharing tips and knowledgeable about the local area. In fact, he shared a couple of fascinating stories with us from when the hotel was the Presentation Sister's Convent. The room we stayed in the first night held a king-size bed, with clean, white sheets and comfortable mattress. Fluffy white towels also provided in bathroom. On the second trip, we had a larger room with bath and QS bed. I would have preferred another KS bed, as room was larger, however, bed was again very comfortable and we both had a good sleep. Hotel is located on west side of Launceston, with Cuccina cafe a quick walk down the road. This same street (Frederick) leads up to Cataract Gorge and some of the amazing architectural gems of Launceston. Would definitely stay again and recommended to other travellers.

Had two nights at the Hideaway - check in was friendly and helpful with local knowledge Location is great - easy walk to the CBD and lots of dining options The loft room was very nice and comfortable - shower very compact though The downside is lugging your suitcases up a staircase to get to your door

The bed was so hard and uncomfortable. I tossed and turned all night waking up with my shoulders and back aching. The shower pressure was really low making the shower water flow really slowly. I wouldn't recommend this property if you're staying in Launceston.

Great, friendly staff which started when we walked through the door. The staff tried to do everything possible to make our stay as pleasurable as possible. The Bluestone staff were amazing as always, even though we stayed for only a few drinks. It's no wonder we try and stay here whenever we visit Launceston.

A very comfy stay here. Everything was just accommodated. You can cook; the kitchen is fully furnished. I love the room and the location and the people here are very friendly. Highly recommend!

2 night stay - Location just out of the CBD. Multiple cafes / restaurants around the area if not wishing to eat at the hotel. Appreciated free parking close to entrance of hotel. Large room on the 2nd floor, and spacious bathroom. Very clean. Had delicious breakfast for both days (bacon & eggs, and eggs benedict - both which come with a coffee or juice) - staff in the restaurant are superb, very friendly and professional. I cannot remember our server's name but started with a 'K'. Our room had a small balcony, but didn't sit out there due to the cooler weather of late April. Two small maintenance issues (TV remote and blind chain) were advised shortly after check in and again when we left - our stay was over the weekend.
