Hotel Daerah Shizhong di Leshan

Good location across the river from the great Buddha. Prime view on the river. Not the most refined and modern room, loud air conditioning, but spacious, comfortable and good enough for the price.

The hotel is a convenient walk from Leshan train station. The staff were all very friendly and made communication via WeChat easy. They were very helpful in making travel arrangements and suggesting local restaurants. The room was very modern and spacious and the shower had amazing water pressure. We had an early start to see the Leshan Buddha and the restaurant kindly arranged some dumplings and bao for us to take on our journey as we were too early for breakfast.

A lovely stay in a lovely hotel, the staff were very friendly and helpful, the room was super nice, breakfast was delicious, and it's located very close to the giant buddha, so very convenient for visiting there. Only stayed one night but it was very memorable! Would absolutely recommend. 这家酒店非常好，人员都很热情。房间也非常好，早餐好吃得很，也离乐山大佛很近，所以去看大佛很方便。虽然我只住了一夜，但还让我难忘！一定会推荐这家。

The city of Leshan was one of our favorite stops during our trip to China. We went to see the Giant Buddha, and it was absolutely amazing—definitely a must-see, especially from the boat view. Our hotel room had a stunning view that honestly didn’t even compare to the pictures. It was even better in person. The toilet alone was next-level! It was pretty cold when we visited in March, but the overall experience made up for it. The staff was incredibly kind and welcoming, and the breakfast buffet was delicious. We paid about $60 USD for one of the best views, and that price also included a buffet breakfast for two people, which made it an even better deal. They also had two small washer machines available. I believe they offered detergent, but we chose to use our own. The only downside is that there’s no traditional dryer—just a heated drying cabinet. You can only hang about five pieces of clothing at a time, and it takes around 1.5 hours to dry. We ended up hanging some of our clothes in the laundry room, and the staff was kind enough to rotate them for us while we were out for the day. Before traveling to China, I highly recommend downloading WeChat (for communication), Alipay (for payments), and Didi (like Uber). Not everyone speaks English, but many people will communicate with you through WeChat, which was super helpful. We also paid for a half-day extension for about $15. Our original room was already booked, so they gave us a smaller room, but it allowed us to enjoy our day and come back to shower and get ready before heading to Chengdu. If you plan on shopping, Leshan is one of the cheapest places to do it. We bought two large suitcases for $17 and $18. They were basic plastic with a simple key lock, but they did the job—we made it all the way back to Los Angeles with them. One wheel did fall off after the flight, but honestly, it was still worth it. We didn’t want to spend money on expensive luggage for a one-time use. There’s a store about a five-minute walk away—it’s like a colorful, open-style dollar store where you can just walk right in. Overall, the staff and experience were amazing. I would absolutely stay here again.

Very zen looking hotel very near the entrance to the Big Buddha Scenic Area. We were upgraded to a room at the first level with a huge courtyard. Though nice, we did not have the time to enjoy the extra space. Both the shower and toilet doors are of translucent glass and has no lock. 4 bottles of drinking water and 3in1 coffee are provided in the room. There's a small washing machine in the room but without full dryer function. Hotel compound is nice. Complimentary afternoon tea is actually self service biscuits, nuts and Chinese tea. There is also a free 3gb e-sim which we did not use. Free Hanfu experience is actually a few pieces of traditional clothings hung at the hotel reception where we are free to wear for self photo takings. We did not try as the costumes look like they were there for a long time and we were concerned about it's cleanliness. Breakfast is at another hotel a buggy ride away. We were supposed to be able to walk a short distance to the pier to board the ferry to see the Leshan Big Buddha but unfortunately, that pier was closed due to tide issues. We had to take the scenic bus (buggy) at RMB 15 per pax for a return trip to Wuyou ferry terminal to board the ferry. It was a long walk from the drop off point to the ferry terminal both ways. Would recommend this hotel for the room and hotel compound. However, if proximity to ferry terminal is a consideration, it pays to check that the pier near the hotel is in operation.

Beautiful hotel. Rooms are clean and odor free. Staff was nice, one speaks fluent English which was useful. Chinese breakfast with noodles, egg, chia something and rice and dumpling (just let her know if you want it spicy or not, or without meat). K1 bus is 10 minutes walk to the junction, it takes you to the Buddha area. 601 bus should be across the street to Emeishan (but probably moved due to construction, just take the 9 3-4 stops down) payable in cash. Internet was ok, a bit weak a night There are calligraphy sets in every floor. And good tea..

The hotel is excellent and located near the train station in the new part of the city, opposite the city's two largest shopping malls. The hotel's design is elegant, the rooms are large and comfortable, the sleep quality is excellent, and the hotel staff are very friendly.

Close to the train station (within 5 minutes walk), clean and comfortable. There is a Lawson at the first level and noodles shops as well. About 5 minute ride to Shi hao shopping area for more food options and shopping. The bathtub is a nice touch as well. There is free laundry and dryer as well. Will stay again!

We really enjoy our stay in JiaDing. The location and environment is chill and peaceful. Who love to enjoy natural and leave in the quiet place this hotel is suitable for u. If like to have city walk need to take taki or boat to opposite of the river. besides, the staff in the hotel is friendly and helpful. Definitely will stay in this hotel again

We had a cabin in the forest canopy which was very beautiful. There was a great dawn chorus of birds. The resort was so peaceful and nature was all around us. It was a 5 minute walk to the south visitor centre for the Leshan Giant Buddha, where you can buy entrance tickets and board the shuttle bus. It was a 10 minute walk to the south gate entrance to the Giant Buddha and 10 minute walk to the Wuyou Temple. The staff were very friendly and went out of their way to help us. The restaurant was excellent and we enjoyed the breakfasts and evening meals. Would thoroughly recommend.
