Grecotel-Luxme Daphnila Bay Dassia

We had a lovely week in April at this superb hotel. The view from our room, a "Limited Sea View bungalow" was amazing and not "Limited" at all. We could see across the Ionian Sea to the mountains of Albania and Mainland Greece. The room was rustic chic, and very charming. The cleaners were very efficient and kept the room spotless. We were delighted not to have to wear wristbands to enjoy the Luxme AI package. The main Buffet offered a large variety of both hot and cold foods. A special mention to Angeliki who excelled at customer service and always had a welcoming smile. We also enjoyed the excellent Speciality Restaurants and would like to mention Costa and Meina who served us in the Taverniki restaurant. (Remember to download the App before you visit as you can book the Speciality Restaurants from seven days before your visit). We had a relaxing week, there was always a quiet spot with plenty of sunbeds to be found in the Beach garden area. Where there is a fully stocked bar, alongside a pizza kitchen and crepe and ice-cream stalls. We recommend taking the water taxi into Corfu Town. Don't forget to walk to the Ypapanti church on the water if you have a chance, it takes about fifteen minutes. In the opposite direction is St. Nicholas Beach which is also a fifteen to twenty minute walk. Oh, and the patisserie in the reception area at 15:00 every day except Sunday, is well worth a visit. Overall we had a superb time and look forward to a return visit when we can.

Lovely Beach Resort unfortunately to many children spoiled it a bit for us. We thought most would be at school this time of the year. Breakfast buffet we went to once as to many children screaming. The app they tell you to book restaurant s is very misleading as we booked reservations and found they were in the other hotels far a way to walk. The Greek taverna on the beach was lovely which we had managed to book for our anniversary and made us feel very special with champagne! Will say the staff are lovely. And the bungalow we had over looking the sea was lovely and cool and spacious. We also enjoyed a day on the boat to the imperial hotel which was beautiful. And had an adults only beach which was nice and quiet. This hotel is fabulous for families but not really so good for couples

This is our second time here, still amazing, definitely pushing towards a five star with a few added extras! Food is delicious, staff polite, cocktails are all freshly made and INCREDIBLE and the sea is lovely and warm. I would say that if you like a pool holiday this may not be for you as there are only around 50 sunbeds for probably over 500 guests and we never had chance once to use the pool because of that. We were more than happy on the beach but sunbeds need to be updated and children missed the man on his little bike this year with his icecream?!? However they definitely made use of the crepes and icecream hut! Beach bar on an evening was lovely and quiet if you want a change from pool bar although the ambience and subtle entertainment was top notch, not in your face loud or at all tacky. This resort is on a hill but not at all hard to walk up and down, bungalows are tired but this is a base, never bothered us, they were cleaned everyday and towels changed. All in all still a fantastic place and will be back for a third time x

Fantastic Hotel. Unbelievable food and drinks selection. Great private beach with Bar and food outlets. Great room and views. Highly reccomend for a luxury hotel stay. Close to corfu town by bus or speedboat. The staff were very helpful and always courteous

We just had one of the best holidays ever! This hotel is amazing from start to finish. As soon as we walked into the hotel we knew it was going to be great as the staff greeted us at reception with facecloths and drinks and took us a quick tour of the hotel. Our bungalow was really too class, we were amazed by the size of the room, it was huge. We had a huge bed with beautiful canopy over it. The room had a nice balcony with a view over the bay and right out to the mountains of Albania, it really was something special. Everything else about the room was great like the powerful shower, bath, mini bar, coffee machine and big TV. We spent our first few days around the pool sipping cocktails and eating from the pool bar. The pool area was great as there was a large outdoor pool and a smaller inside one for the kids to play in the shade. There was also a lovely little pool and loungers hidden out the front. Pool was well staffed with a pool attendant, people giving out towels and lovely bar staff doing table service. The pool bar did a great selection drinks and food, everything you would want really. Our next few days were spent down on the beach and this is where the hotel really shines. The beach, surroundings, bar and grass area is pure luxury. My family absolutely loved our time at the beach. It felt more like a 5 star resort. The beach area had everything and more like fresh towels, comfortable loungers, crystal clear water, beautiful grass and trees, pizza made fresh in front of us, massive drinks menu and I could go on and on. The hotel food was probably the best we have ever experienced in an all inclusive hotel and bear in mind I came here with a family of 5 picky eaters but they all loved it. The best thing about the hotel is definitely the super staff. From the reception to the bar staff and restaurants. They are just so nice and happy to help you with anything. Our daughter was not well and the staff had a doctor come see us within 15mins, I could not believe how well she was looked after. Even first thing in the morning the staff phoned us to check how my daughter was feeling. There's a pharmacy not too far down the road where we were able to get a prescription from the doctor. I have been travelling to different resorts with my family for years and this one is definitely the best. I really don't have one bad thing to say and everyone who was there at the hotel talked about how great it was too. I would recommend this spot and will be back again. So sad to be back home 😭

So I'm not going to write a huge paragraph but here are some pros and cons: Pros: Amazing, friendly staff Great cleaners Good location Nice views Good beach Well kept pools Cons: . Crowded, echos, full of noisy children . Breakfast, lunch and dinner queues are packed . The hotel rooms are very moldy and have stains in places . Mosquitos. So many mosquitoes. . The indoor pool is packed full of children and it's the only useable pool . The outdoor pool is colder than the sea . The food is not very good and takes "looks over taste" very seriously . The cues for the pool tables have no tips . Too many people crammed in one location . You can hear every little noise from the neighbouring hotel rooms . The rooms absolutely REEK . Theres a sewage problem with the bungalows and you can really smell it . The football pitch is pretty much destroyed . The tennis courts are full of sand, making it easy to slip over . Lifts are wobbly and feel unsafe . Its an incredibly long walk down to the beach . Sometimes, the sun loungers aren't set up properly, so when you sit on one it retracts and bangs you on the head . Wasp problem. There were about 7 drowning in the help-yourself jam . The mattresses are the cheapest thing ever, my "double bed" is just two single cheap mattresses crammed together, I can feel all the springs as well. . There's sand in the beds. . The non sea view balconys are just overlooking crowds of people, so it doesn't feel very private . Lack of privacy . Lack of a lot of things that a "luxury" 4 star hotel should have.

We have just returned from a wonderful week at this hotel in late June. We were a party of 6, myself and my husband in our 40’s, our two boys (10 & 8) and my parents in their 60’s. This was our first sun holiday with our boys. Previously as a couple, we had stayed in a variety of all inclusive hotels and had come to the conclusion that we preferred luxury boutique hotels with bed and breakfast. However, that type of accommodation would now be too pricey and not suit our children so I spent a long time looking for the perfect hotel to suit our requirements now as a family; on it’s own beach, within a budget, all inclusive without restrictions, touches of luxury, safe and calm environment and this hotel really delivered. We stayed in a family bungalow and whilst it was dated, the beds were very comfortable and we kept nice and cool which was a relief as we were there during a heatwave. Also, it was well positioned between the hotel and the beach. I expect that if the bungalows were updated, it would push the price up considerably. Just a short walk away was the beach with plenty of sun beds on the sand and grass. The sea was beautiful and calm and you could easily sit on your sunbed and watch the children in the sea. The boys spent hours snorkelling. The beach was just used by hotel guests, I didn’t see any members of public or sales people walking through. It was lovely having lunch at the restaurant by the beach and looking out over the bay. The pool was very nice too with comfortable sun beds but you had to get there early to secure one. There were not that many sun beds to go round but this meant that they were not crammed in, there was plenty of space. I thought that the a la carte restaurants and bar areas had a 5 star feel. The food was very good, far better than we have had before at other 4 star all inclusive hotels. Wine could be chosen from a wine list and there were plenty of other drink options available too. We were not restricted to drinking local cheap wine and drinks. The hotel had a classy feel, there were no wristbands, no lager louts, water slides or pool mayhem. It was very relaxing. It is a family hotel and as it was term time when we were there, the children there were mainly pre-school age but we did not find them over bearing. If you don’t want children present, then best not to book a hotel that offers free child places. The hotel is on a hill which would not normally be an issue for any of us, however it was particularly hot whilst we were there and we did feel zapped by the heat once we walked up to breakfast. We enjoyed the complimentary boat trip to the other hotels and would have liked to get the boat taxi to the town but did not fancy walking around the shops in the heat for half a day. Instead, we hired a little speedboat from the company on the beach to the right of the hotel and had a lovely trip up the coast and enjoyed swimming in the deep sea. From the moment we arrived on our honeymoon the staff couldn't do enough for us... There was a bottle of champagne and cakes in our room which overlooked the pool and the amazing views over to Albania. The main buffet was spot on every day, with a wonderful selection of traditional Greek food, salads, and plenty for vegetarians. We ate at the hot stone and the tavernaki and both were amazing with wonderful wines, views and great service. The pool area was lovely, and despite previous advice about sunloungers being taken early, we found that actually there were still sunloungers available at 8am. The table service was a lovely touch and we worked our way through the cocktail menu before settling on 'Skinos the Med'. We split our days between the pool and the beach. The beach was a very chilled area even with families around. The fact that there is a large grassy area behind the sandy beach was useful as there was always shade to be found under the palm and olive trees. Again the bar area was lovely and the complimentary shuttle speedboat is worth getting on just for a quick ride around the coast to see the views. We visited the wine tasting and was looked after a very knowledgeable gent and tried some beautiful Greek wines. Due to where our room was we could enjoy the evening entertainment from our balcony which was a lovely way to finish the evening. After seeing other reviews about it being kid-centric, I have to say that the entertainment team weren't in your face, and in fact the hotel had a lovely mix of families and couples that created a very happy relaxed atmosphere throughout the pool, beach and hotel... Would go back in a heartbeat! Lovely people, lovely food, amazingly clean hotel, simply a wonderful magical Honeymoon.

This is a pleasant hotel with 4 star amenities, buffet food average sometimes its only warm, the hotel is positioned on a very steep hill so please be aware it not disabled friendly, the bungalows are also positioned on the hill and any stay here will involve steps and walking, a walk down the hill to a small private beach is required where sunbeds are in abundance, there is also a bar and snack bar for food and beverages, transport is provided for those who do not wish to tackle the steep hill. the hotel itself is clean and staff are probably the best i have ever encountered their approach to guest and politeness is exceptional. i was lucky enough to sample all the a la carte restaurant's and they are all excellent. sadly the small unheated pool with very limited sun loungers is a massive let down for the size of the hotel, last but not least this hotel is tucked out the way and you are sort stranded , shuttle bus is available to Corfu town at the costs of 10 euros per person return trip.
