Barbara Studios & Apartments

Barbara, Erato and Papa are some of the most hospitable and loving people I’ve ever met, absolutely lovely . They all made me feel so special, like one of the family ! I have been coming to Cephalonia since 1995 and it was my second time visiting Svoronata, it Won’t be my last, I love the area and more importantly the Island ️. Best Wishes to all the family for all of your hard work (8:00am until after midnight) and Still they All have a Big Smile on their faces for Every Single visitor ! If you are considering a visit, please visit asap, the hospitality is second to none !!! George !

We stayed here for 11 nights in September. Short transfer from the airport.Easy check in but I can understand some finding the list of do’s & don’ts a bit much upon checking in. I think the rules are pretty much standard so maybe could be just prompted to read. We had room 12. It was up 2 flights of stairs.Standard Greek appartment with everything you need. We were s/c & could make snacks etc.Absolutely spotlessly clean. We had probably one of the best views from the balcony. Bedding & towels changed regularly during our stay. We are not pool people but passing the pool daily it was very clean & plenty of sunbeds available. We visited the bar most days for drinks or food & the owners & their daughter were very friendly. Beaches are a little walk away. 3 we visited are lovely & had plenty sunbeds available. Small shop next door, bigger one ten minutes walk. Staff in the shops are very friendly & sell everything you could want, There are some lovely restaurants nearby & more a short walk away. We would definitely recommend booking the Dias Beekeeping tour. Absolutely fantastic,interesting experience. We also walked to the Sarris winery & had a lovely wine tasting experience. We walked or used the bus. Bus into Argostoli was every 2 hours due to moving to low season. Definitely worth visiting. With a car you could do so much more. We would definitely return but probably a week earlier as some restaurants started reducing their hours towards the end of our holiday. We would say these apartments are definitely more suitable for couples/adults. Thankyou for a lovely stay.

Set in pretty well-kept gardens. The studios are certainly basic but they were clean and we had a decent balcony & appreciated the mosquito screens. We thought that check-in was a bit overwhelming, as you get a list of rules read out to you, backed up with a framed version to read but maybe this was why it was so peaceful and calm around the pool which also has a large board of rules. There was no problem with getting a sun bed however several of the loungers were broken but hopefully this will be sorted by next season. We had paid for B&B, but I cannot recommend breakfasts here unfortunately. We were told to be seated and then a plate of food was just put in front of us. There was no choice whatsoever unless you wanted to pay for a full English. We were given eggs, two small slices of cheap bread, cheap highly processed meat & cheese. Coffee was served with condensed milk. Fresh fruit was only served every other day alternating with a cake. There is however a very convenient and well-stocked supermarket next door but one and a good grill restaurant and laid-back cocktail bar next door which opens from around 6pm. Turn left out of the studios and there are a couple more restaurants within 10 minutes walk (the very pretty bakery Bake Someone Happy which is so much more than a bakery, beautiful breakfasts, coffee, brunches, lunches, drinks & dinners) is also on this road. Turn right out of the studios and there is La Calma where there is always a very warm welcome, amazing cocktails and good food. Straight across the road from Barbara and down a lane towards the beach is the lovely, friendly Fois restaurant. There are others places to eat too but probably more like a 35-40 minute walk away. There is also a very convenient bus stop into Argostoli outside the studios.

Lovley welcome. Clean, fresh smelling studio. Garden view which was both quiet and lovley. My husband and I wanted a quiet, break away i chose wisely and got what we asked for. Nearby tavernas and a supermarket next door. The supermarket closed for the season on october 1st as did a couple of tavernas but there is another supermarket a ten minute walk away. We ate out every night, lovley food and reasonable prices. We explored the island and fell in love with the people and the places we visited. Overall Barbaras is perfect for a quiet, peacefull break. The food we ate there was lovley too. Only one bad thing the beds are very hard..personal preference but i did find it hard to sleep. Wouldnt stop me staying there again. Oh, busstop outside too.

I echo the sentiments of the last reviews. This place is a little gem! Barbara and Erato were so welcoming. Very hard working and couldn’t do enough for us. The pool was very clean and could always find a sunbed. A fine 3 star base in a quiet village. Perfect! For the life of me I can’t understand why there are some bad reviews on here. Maybe they were families? It clearly states that this accommodation is for “couples and friends”. IMO not suitable for families. I will definately be coming back..thank you Barbara and Erato.

I am somewhat amazed by some reviews on here.Barbara studios is an amazing little gem.The studios are spacious and well equipped.The pool and pool area is spacious and immaculately clean. The owners are extremely hard working and always helpful.Food and drink always good. This us not a 5* hotel but a great 3* traditional Greek hotel that I would highly recommend
