Overall a good stay. Nice bright modern room and hotel. But only one USB port, the beds are VERY firm, and the shower has a hand held spray which I really dislike. Also the tub is slippery and hard to get into. The elevators were quick and there were several. I would have liked to use the stairs more but while they were clean and well lit, they were confusing about where they ended up.

The hotel is centrally located and staff are generally friendly and efficient. Rooms, whilst a reasonable size need refurbishment and amazingly don’t have a refrigerator, which is standard in all but the most basic hotels these days - instead, guests are offered a bucket of ice from the bar! The bistro/bar in the lobby offers pre-packed toasted sandwiches which was another surprise and disappointing for a hotel that is trying hard to put itself in the high end category - certainly room prices reflect that ambition. Breakfast is the biggest redeeming factor where a good choice of local and international options are available.

A five star stay all the way around! The facility is in beautiful historic district, with elegance and grandeur to match. Impeccably clean and supremely maintained. We were thrilled to be upgraded to a suite on their most recently renovated floor, with design, interior space and room amenities all being above and beyond, an absolute 10 out of 10. All of our staff encounters were warm and gracious, with all exerting genuine hospitality. The front desk was so helpful w/ dinner recommendations and reservation at the oldest operating restaurant in Ljubljana, named Sestica. The menu was their traditional cuisine prepared in the most authentic way. Back to the hotel: A wonderful breakfast is included in a beautiful and well appointed dining room. As a bonus, their spa with Thai massage was amazing, and invitingly affordable by all standards. Carve out an hour and a half to treat yourself, you more than likely deserve and have earned such a reward. One note to which requires distinction: Union Eurostars and Grand Union Eurostars are not the same. Yes, they are affiliated and directly and openly connected, yet the similarity ends there. Union is more modern, and nothing wrong with it, just to similar to any chain Hotel anyone can find virtually anywhere. Grand Union, is an historic building, that evokes Grand European styling, and tradition, which is tantamount for us when staying in an Historic center! I also note that distinction, as the taxi driver did not know the difference and were dropped off @ Union reception, and after waiting a few minutes to get checked in, we were advised with complete courtesy that we would be met by her colleague @ Grand Union reception just around the corner. Bravo, Grand Union, we hope our travel plans provide a return visit down the road, and there is nowhere else we would ever consider staying than here.

I stayed at this hotel in room 116 check in by Nina and Ervin both very polite friendly and professional the room was immaculate breakfast is very good quality multiple choices food in the restaurant is also very good staff are very pleasant and helpful Erwin the manager is exceptionally helpful and informative for him nothing is too much trouble he ensures the guests enjoy their stay for him nothing is impossible my stay was first class there are some shops close to the hotel and a good bus service to the city about 10 minutes they can also arrange a shuttle service to the hotel from the airport which is much cheaper than a taxi l would certainly come back again and highly recommend this hotel to others you will not be disappointed.

This place was the best! I chose it because it was in the middle of everything. Perfect location; I was not disappointed. The rooms are nice with lots of space. Everything was very clean and new. The breakfast every morning really is good; they make eggs, bacon and vegetables for you (in whatever style you want them) every morning at breakfast - in addition to the buffet. There is tea, coffee, cookies and fruit all day long in case you want to stop in there and get something to refresh yourself. We went back to the room nearly every day to rest and take a nap. It was very quiet. Water pressure in the shower was awesome. Beds are comfortable. And honestly the people who work there are super nice and very helpful! I would definitely suggest staying there. It’s all sonic Barry safe location. Good time was had by both of us.

Very friendly and helpful staff - they made the trip really execellent. In Particular the bar/cafe staff were incredibly professional, welcoming and skilled and I cannot commend them enough. Reception staff were very quick to assist with a booking error on our part.

Loved this hotel! Breakfast was great choice and standard. Our room was a family delux style with inner doors to separate two beds. Bathroom was luxurious with bathtub. Nice touches to room such as an umbrella to use. So convenient to river and nearby attractions. The staff from reception to housekeeping were excellent. Very efficient and everything worked. Would definitely stay again.

I have been to the hotel several times, as it has a friendly location if you come to the city by car. The parking lot is also excellent. The staff is very friendly. The rooms in the new part of the hotel are very nice (except for the fact that the showers don't seal and water floods the bathroom). The rooms in the old part of the hotel are significantly less pleasant, but still acceptable. The beds are comfortable. The breakfast is not fancy, but everything served is delicious, including good morning coffee.

Very good staff. The Best. All team is the very very good. Best choix of the hôtel. Everything is good. Personnelle très gentille. Check in check out is fast. Continue comme ça avec votre boulot. Déjeuner aussi super bon

ATTENTION !!! Nous avons réservé deux nuits sur Ljubana dans cet hébergement, dans un premier temps via booking, ma carte étant refusée (en cause une opposition car celle-ci a été piratée), j’ai donc directement appelé le propriétaire afin de refaire une réservation et donc lui donner une nouvelle emprunte bancaire. Nous avons été débité du montant et même 100€ de plus qui était annoncé sur booking !!! Tout a été confirmé, nous avons reçu une confirmation ainsi qu’un lien avec nº de réservation, 3 semaines avant notre arrivée. Arrivées depuis Bohinj vers 18h30 et fatiguées de la route, le propriétaire nous ouvre la porte de façon très désinvolte, pas vraiment digne d’un accueil. On comprends qu’il faut un code pour accéder à la résidence et notre incompréhension semble le déranger. Nous nous annonçons en lui donnant notre nom et nº de réservation. A son visage nous savons immédiatement vu qu’il y a un problème ! Il nous explique qu’enfaite notre réservation n’a pas été prise en compte et de surplus que c’est de notre faute ! Je lui explique que travaillant dans l’hôtellerie la faute ne nous revenait pas mais que c’était lui qui n’avait pas fermé sa chambre avec booking quand il a pris en compte notre réservation ! Vous l’aurez compris, nous sommes face à un surbooking ! En plein été alors qu’il y a très peu d’hébergement sur la capitale ! Je lui explique qu’il doit absolument nous reloger ! Il fait mine d’appeler un confrère et nous explique qu’il n’y a plus de place. Il m’explique qu’il nous rembourse sur le champs et je comprends aussi qu’il ne compte pas faire plus d’efforts pour nous reloger. Je lui montre que sur booking il y a des hébergements et qu’il doit nous reloger. Sur quoi il refuse en me disant que je suis particulièrement osé de lui présenter un hôtel 4 étoiles ! Je lui demande alors de trouver la même prestation qu’il propose ! Sauf que vous l’aurez compris il n’y avait plus rien à moins de 200€/nuit. Nous insistons et il refuse et ne reconnaît absolument pas son erreur, il nous dit même que c’est de la nôtre ! Il nous propose la ‘petite’ chambre de sa fille, et nous lance qu’elle ira dormir dans un camping ! Très honteux de sa part ! Il finit par tourner ses talons et courir vers des escaliers en nous laissant en plan, sans solution ! En lisant les précédents commentaires, je comprends que je ne suis pas la seule, il y a un mois quelqu’un s’est retrouvé dans la même situation. Morale de l’histoire, il faut se méfier de cet homme et de cet hébergement. ATTENTION !!!
