Arrived at hotel after a long drive ,we knew that we couldn’t check in early but asked if we could get a coffee ,receptionist told in no drinks available on change over day and to walk to the shops….not a good start. Room was allocated and I must say it was like a broom cupboard with no electricity sockets anywhere ,I’m asthmatic and use a nebuliser morning and night and needed to plug it in.The cleaner told me to use the extension cable which was hidden up the side of a very low cabinet with a tea tray on it,surely this is a health and safety issue as the plugs were getting very hot on using it. No room for a bedside table had to use the top of my suitcase. Food was very bland and tasteless and entertainment not the best. Very disappointed with this hotel ,won’t be going back.

Our first stay at The Somerset Hotel. Very much appreciated the porters taking our suitcases to our room for us on arrival. Our twin room was of adequate size, warm, with a lovely sea view. Bathroom was always chilly as it did not have heating, so stepping out of the hot shower was an uncomfortable chilly experience. Staff were excellent. Very friendly and helpful. The quality of food for the evening meal was a disappointment. If you like tinned veg and processed food, you'll be fine. The hotel is in a perfect location for the high street, pier and local bus stops. The Great Orme Tram is also a short walk away. The positives far out weight the negatives, which is why I recommend this hotel.

Went for Turkey and Tinsel with my sister and was lucky enough have a lovely sea view which sat looking at quite a bit. Room had sink in bit unusual. Meals good very friendly staff lovely waiter Corey. Bar staff very good to especially the lady unfortunately can’t remember her name. Snacks very nice in the snack bar and very friendly lady serving. Nice touch before getting on the coach manager welcomed us and then said farewell when we left. Would go again.

was there 17th feb for 4 nights with local club. bedroom was ok a bed,shower, bath and a pillow to put your head on at night. food was ok, staff were good, entertainment was good. what we paid for the four days it was a bargain. oh, and jim the driver was good . ive no complaints only i slept in single bed.

Just got back from the sommerset hotel with over 120 of us in a group , the staff were marvellous , helpful , friendly , bar well organised with friendly staff , dining room staff really worked hard , the manager and his team best we have had , the chef needs training breakfast terrible ,really sorry but fryed eggs like bullets so we went onto scrambled that was tasteless and the water all over plate , entertainment really good , I wood book back as I feel the staff and hotel are great , just sort the breakfasts out as that's the main meal to start the day , but we'll done sommeset hotel for making us feel really welcome ,we will see you again

One of the best in the group, I've been to many more than once, including the Somerset. The Hotel, staff, food and everything else about the place is A1. Entertainment is also very good and if you want big money bingo this is the place for you, give it a go.

First and last time with Daish.The coach was 25 mins late,so not a great start.The hotel was dirty,not hoovered.Broom cupboard of a bedroom.The sink was so low,I had to kneel to use.No hot water after 4pm,so no bath - unless I used it in the daytime.The food was diabolical.Soup was on the table before the guests,so was tepid.Toast was stone cold.No teaspoons to stir tea.Lift was grim-one only for 84 rooms.The excursion was catered for hikers/walkers,but half the coach had walking difficulties.All in all,this was a HUGE mistake on my part.Never again!

I've just spent a few days at this hotel with friends and I will never go there again. The lift is filthy, bedroom was dirty, my towel was stained. Dirty crockery & glasses. The food, some of it was ok, most of us expect full cutlery with meals, butter with toast, coffee when ordered but receive tea. You're kept waiting when food order has to be rectified. I would say it's not the waiting staff, they work very hard and take the backlash from guests, it's the organisation from the kitchen to dining room. Our first breakfast morning was a complete disaster.

We've been on a few daishs holidays as a family and this was definitely the worst. Lovely location and the lady on bar was the best bit about it, she was so funny! Bedroom was very good size, 5 beds, bedding wasn't good, slept on top of bed all stay, just didn't seem clean, found a few hairs,hadn't been hoovered still receipts on floor from previous guests. Food was terrible, didn't offer us a kids menu. The first waitress was a little crazy, tried to be funny but come across rude. I heard alot of complaints especially about the liver, or man said it reminded him of something yh of scraped off the street. Waiter saw my son didn't eat it, got him something else, very good waiter. To say you advertise for a family stay, it wasn't very family, this is for older people over 60. The bar area is soooo hot, unbelievably uncomfortable, couldn't take it. Ants were in the spirits Despenser. Not a good stay, daishs best hotels are Weymouth/Bournemouth for us, Blackpool was also great. Needs a good spring clean and a new cook.
