Cordial Mogan Solaz

Stayed in a Solaz two bedroomed duplex a stones throw from the family pool and a few minutes walk from the beach. The apartment was spacious, and really well equipped. But the air conditioning was truly awful and it was routinely cooler outside that it was inside. Despite the system being set for 20.5 degrees the coolest the aircon ever achieved was 26 degrees and topped 28 several times. It was so hot at night in both bedrooms we had to go out and buy electric fans. There were two other families there who had complained so much that the hotel brought in huge noisy dehumidifiers to try to cool their apartments . We loved Puerto Mogan but despite the considerable expense of the Solaz duplex our holiday was ruined and we will not go back

We are staying here atm, can’t fault the Solaz appt, hotel is very well keep, Blue Restaurant for breakfast is lovely, food good, staff very good. Main Restaurant need big changes, there is not enough staff doing the table’s service. To many staff not doing anything, waiting way to long just to order a drink with your meal….. It’s just a little frustrating

We stayed in a one bedroom apartment which was clean and modern. We loved the fact we were located in the beautiful grounds of the Mogan Playa Hotel. The swimming pools were lovely and warm. The hotel reception gave us a very welcoming greeting but when we checked out we were not asked if we had enjoyed our stay. I had assumed we would have been asked to complete a guest satisfaction form of some kind. I really enjoyed the whole ambience of the apartments and the hotel but I found breakfast to be very frustrating. The food was quite good but the plates were cold. You sometimes could not find a set table or get anyone to bring you coffee. The restaurant staff were run off their feet and I observed for most of the week the managers just stood and greeted the guests. That's great if they have enough people but they don't. They should have been helping the waiting staff, which they did on two days towards the end of our stay.I found myself irritated and annoyed ,frequently eating most of my hot breakfast (on a cold plate) by the time the coffee arrived. It must be soul destroying for the waiting staff as it is not their fault that guests like me becoming irritated. Breakfast was include and we didn't have the choice not to pay it. We really liked the Mogan Solaz and the hotel but they need more staff in the breakfast restaurant. Ian & Elaine Thompson

Second time in the Solaz apartments as a family of four with two autistic boys age 12 and 15. We booked direct with the hotel this year and were allocated Solaz duplex 103 which is within the grounds of the Cordial Mogan Playa hotel; most Solaz apartments are not, they are separate. What a shambles 103 is! It wasn't cleaned properly, there were cockroaches and bugs, the walls were scuffed, it was mouldy in the ensuite bathroom, there was a constant loud clicking sound 24/7 coming from motion sensors and the air conditioning didn't work, it was hotter than hell. Worse still, the lock on the sliding bathroom door in the ensuite clicked shut because it was faulty, trapping me in the bathroom shouting for help for half an hour! My husband unscrewed the lock from the outside. We changed apartments to Solaz 105 and from then on had a better experience. Cool air conditioning in the ensuite bedroom and living area, although like last year the aircon in the twin bedroom was poor. Very private hot tub on the balcony, great self catering facilities and no clicking noise. We negotiated with one of the hotel managers (Marcos) as our first night/day was ruined and he sorted things out. The Solaz apartments are expensive and the ones starting with 100 have air conditioning issues in at least one room. There are steep stairs in the duplex, making it unsuitable for anyone with mobility/sight issues - please be careful coming down the stairs in the dark. There is a distinct lack of mirrors in the ensuite bedroom which would be easily rectified and I cannot understand why it hasn't. There is space for a full length mirror above an electrical socket. All in all an excellent 6 days of a 7 night holiday, hence I have given a 3 out of 5 review. I will review the Cordial Mogan Playa hotel separately and I hope the hotel sorts out the maintenance issues I have detailed. See you again soon!

We have stayed at the Cordial Mogan Playa many times. This year we tried the Cordial Solaz. We were not disappointed. The rooms were beautifully appointed and balcony was sunny and spacious. With just a few steps across a minor road and through a gate, we were back in the grounds of the hotel. We enjoyed the use of the hotel and spa with this super vacation accommodation. Service was excellent from housekeeping, reception, restaurant and maintenance. Thank you for a lovely stay.

Just returned from at 14 days stay at Solaz (apt 106 - with 2 bedrooms). I have been to the Cordial Mogan Playa Hotel three times before, and just love the garden - and the peace and quiet. The Solaz building our apt was in, was within the hotel grounds (the other building is across the street). It seemed new and modern, and it was very peaceful. It was great to have a safe parking garage for the rental car. We only had B&B, but enjoyed the breakfasts. There are a lot of choices. (If I only could suggest minor one thing, it is to lower the backgroundmusic, which forced us to eat in one of the outside areas where it is more peaceful). We had lunch in the apartment every day, which was perfect with both fridge/freezer, dishwasher and good kitchen equipment. For a 14 days stay it was also perfect to have a washer/dryer. The people working at Cordial is very friendly and serviceminded. I will especially mention our housekeeper Aroa V. which was very thorough, hardworking and who really makes an effort to make her guests satisfied. The only minus I will mention, is that with the high prize we pay for staying there, the cost for using the safe should be included. I knew this in beforehand due to my previous stays (it is the same in the hotel), so it was no surprice for me. We also had a minor problem with the AC (the apt got rather cold when using AC, with temperatur dropping below wanted/set temp), but we ajusted our use of the AC to that issue.

Where to start! Having previously stayed at main hotel the Cordial Mogan Playa nearly ten years earlier and remembering how beautiful it was, I decided to book again for a family holiday with my partner and 7 year old daughter, it was then that I stumbled across the new Cordial Mogan Solaz adjoining the main hotel. We couldn’t have chosen any better. We stayed in Solaz 301, a stunning one bedroom superior self-catering apartment with a private roof terrace with hot tub. I’m the kind of guy that spends literally hours doing research before I book any holiday, we both work hard and needed to be sure that this was the place for us, we needn’t have worried. Upon arrival we were greeted with a friendly warm welcome at the main hotel reception in the Cordial Mogan Playa and given a handy little map that showed us how to drive around to the Solaz apartments. We had hired a car from the airport for the 12 days but if you arrived by taxi or coach then you could quite simply walk through the main hotel to the apartments. Having reached the apartments we parked up in the private and secure underground car park, this is simply accessed by using your keycard. From here we used the lift immediately next to the car park up to the third and top floor. You do have the option of using the 37 steps up, but with suitcases it’s a bit of a hike! However we used the steps most other days which helped burn off a few calories. Upon entering the apartment we were very pleasantly surprised on how modern and clean it was, in fact it was stunning. The kitchen area included a large fridge freezer, compact dishwasher, electric hobs and a very useful washing machine! Along with the usual kettle, toaster and pots pans and utensils. Nothing had been forgotten about. The lounge area had a very comfortable sofa bed which our daughter loved and a large flat screen tv mounted to the wall. We were only able to find a couple of English speaking channels (sky news and channel 4) but who goes on holiday to watch tv? The bathroom had a large walk in shower and I believe 301 has the added benefit of a window which could be fully opened to allow the steam out. The bathroom overall was very clean and equally modern. The main bedroom like the lounge area looks out onto the balcony and has its own patio doors like the lounge. Again another tv on the wall that swings around so you can watch it in bed if that’s your thing. A small double wardroom and safe were also available. Again this room was impeccably clean. The air conditioning was so quiet and we were able to adjust the temperature in both the main living area and the bedroom, ensuring a great nights sleep. Leaving the apartment by the front door there was a spiral staircase outside the that took you up to the private room terrace where we found a beautiful space and a real sun trap! Quality two floor apartment with all new fittings and its own solarium level. Hot tub was great. The staff were great and will definitely return. This gives you the benefit of larger quality accommodation and the facilities of the hotel.

A fabulous hotel just got back after celebrating my 60th birthday there was a bottle of sparkling wine in the fridge waiting along with bottled water and orange juice and as a birthday gift I was given a spa day for myself and my husband.I’d say this is 5*in my opinion private hot tub had the superior apartments which had 2 terraces one for the hot tub and the lower one for dining outside the kitchen had washer dishwasher big fridge freezer microwave and 4 ring stove top everything you need for either self catering or going out
