I am heartbroken to write this review. My experience at Raffles at The OWO has been nothing short of devastating, and I attribute this entirely to the blatant discrimination and unprofessionalism from the staff, in particular, the Director of Front Office and Guest Experience, Jackson. My partner and I had obtained prior permission to take wedding photos in the public areas of the hotel, a moment we had planned and cherished. However, on the morning of our shoot, this permission was suddenly and inexplicably rescinded, all because a “VIP” guest was staying there. To make matters worse, the security at the door even mentioned that we had “pissed off my VIP” — an unbelievably condescending and offensive remark. This is outright discrimination. Our concerns and distress were met with complete disregard, and instead of a sincere apology or a reasonable alternative, we were offered a complimentary stay as if this could make up for ruining our wedding day. It felt like a slap in the face. On top of that, our request for a late check-out was also denied. The reason? The hotel was supposedly “sold out.” As a seasoned traveler, I know how rare it is for hotels to reach 100% occupancy, especially in mid-November. It felt more like another instance of being brushed aside rather than any genuine effort to accommodate us. The result? We couldn’t get the photos we dreamed of, and now, our wedding memories are irreversibly tarnished. A huge thank you to the morning team for shattering what should have been one of the happiest days of our lives. The only bright spot in our stay was Marco and Martin, the night manager. Their service was exceptional, and it’s a real shame that the morning staff and management fall so far short in comparison.
