Reception team is efficient and welcoming. Breakfast is very good with good choice and well organised. It’s gets busy but the team do a good job to clear and keep everything “topped up”. The room was fine but the bathrooms are very dated. The rooms close to the road get super hot during summer period so keep the window wide open or book a room away from the road. Staff are friendly and very international.

Great hotel. Perfect location, friendly staff and nice breakfast. No fridge in room, although it was very clean, modern and bathroom had heated floor. Would certainly return!

Excellent stay! Value for money! Clean room, friendly staff and good breakfast. Front Office staff was helpful in helping to arrange tours. Breakfast staff was also making meal promptly. Toilets are shared and pretty clean. You can either stay in single or shared rooms.

I had the best stay here! Friendly and helpful staff, nice & rich buffet continental breakfast, and of course great location… not that Longyearbyen is that big! Board games available in the hotel hall, with a refreshment stand with water & hot beverages. The hotel restaurant is nice as well (sushi/asian cuisine), and not expensive. Really nothing bad to say, I will for sure be back at this hotel when I will travel back to Svalbard. Thanks for the amazing time.

Funken lodge are at the top of their game. They provided a great service from the moment I walked in. Richard was very welcoming and assuring. All round the staff were excellent, the rooms very comfortable and the food was very tasty. Will definitely be returning.

Gorgeous, quirky place full of character - with a beautiful glasshouse restaurant (in which you can eat a delicious and huge complimentary breakfast even if you don't have dinner there) and a super comfy communal living room. A terrific bar with limited edition Bryggeri Svalbard beers open till 2am too. Rooms are spartan - but it's still one of the best value places in Longyearbyen. And fast WiFi!

Einfach und sehr anständig. In der Tradition der früheren Bergarbeiterunterkunft. Gemeinschaftsküche, Waschmaschine, Trockner (kostenfrei), zweckmäßige Bäder, sauber. Etwas hellhörig, wenn der Amerikaner im Nachbarzimmer nachts laut mit seiner Familie telefoniert. Genutzt von vielen jungen und junggebliebenen Menschen, die keine Luxusunterkunft wünschen. Durch die Lage talaufwärts in der Nähe der ehemaligen Mine braucht man ca. 20 Minuten, um zu Fuß in die Stadt zu gelangen. Empfehlung.
