First of all, and somewhat surprisingly, the hotel accepts foreigners (as of April 2024). Let me start by saying that I came with minimal expectations, so I was rather pleasantly surprised: I got a room with a private bathroom, and the room was large enough. The staff was also very kind and helpful. The location, while a bit far from most attractions, is still very convenient as it is very accessible by public transportation (metro and buses). At the same time, note that it is very minimalistic - there is no AC (or it is there, but is not working), hardly any ventilation, and the bed is hard (even by Chinese standards). Also, it does feel a bit old, and could be cleaner. There is no elevator. Nonetheless, considering that it was the peak of the peony festival, one could hardly complain, as that was the cheapest private room in Luoyang for my dates (I imagine that normally, it would cost less than half the price and you'd have more options). In short, go for it if you're on a budget and don't mind the above issues.
