Great hotel at Lucerne. Fantastic breakfast. Centrally located, convenient to walk about.

The breakfast selection was quite limited and definitely didn't match the hotel's standards. That evening, I visited the adjacent casino. When I got back to the hotel at 12:30 AM, I rang the doorbell, but no one answered. Having to wait for a good 10-15 minutes was honestly a bit much.

This was the fifth hotel on my trip to Switzerland. It's two bus stops from the train station, but conveniently located right by the stop, so getting there wasn't an issue. The hotel clearly exudes a rich history and old-world charm, with its luxurious European-style decor. I had a bit of trouble initially finding the right entrance and the front desk within the building. I'd actually booked a city view room, but the front desk upgraded me to a stunning lake view room – seriously, you *must* book a lake view! The terrace views were absolutely breathtaking!! The room itself wasn't huge, but it did have air conditioning. The bathroom was a tad small, mainly due to a large, rather useless cabinet taking up unnecessary space.

Prime location. The room was incredibly spacious and offered a beautiful lake view. Transportation links were very convenient. However, I wouldn't highly recommend the breakfast due to the limited variety.

The room has a charming vintage vibe and is very well-appointed. The hotel offers a swimming pool and a sauna. The hotel itself feels like a museum, full of character and unique touches. Breakfast was also fantastic! And the location? Simply unbeatable! Parking is valet service, with your car stored in the garage across the street. Just remember to notify the front desk about 10 minutes in advance when you need to retrieve it.

Highly recommended! The location is incredibly convenient, being very close to Lucerne train station and all the major attractions, with a bus stop right outside. I absolutely loved the hotel's decor. The room was very spacious, and they provided a full range of amenities including shower caps, slippers, shampoo, and shower gel. (Toothbrushes and toothpaste, however, need to be requested from the front desk.) Plus, there were complimentary snacks and drinks specially prepared for guests! The hotel breakfast was delicious, and if you're not keen on the buffet, they also offer an à la carte menu. Additionally, the hotel also boasts exceptionally delicious Chinese cuisine (though be warned, it's quite expensive). The hotel is right by Lake Lucerne, and it's truly idyllic to just sit on the balcony, feel the breeze, and enjoy a drink when you have some downtime. 😌 Overall, this is easily the most satisfying hotel I've stayed at in Switzerland. The only drawback? It's a bit pricey, haha!

A 5 star hotel with a rich history.

We recently stayed at The Grand Hotel and had a mostly positive experience. The location was very convenient for exploring the city, and we really enjoyed the buffet breakfast which had a good variety of tasty options. However, there was one significant problem that impacted our stay: the air conditioner in our room was extremely loud. The noise and vibration made it very difficult to sleep through the night. We had to choose between being too warm or dealing with the disruptive sound. Because of this, our stay was good, but not restful. If you are a light sleeper, I would recommend requesting a room with a recently serviced or quieter AC unit, or perhaps visiting during a cooler season when you might not need to use it.

The room facilities were very inviting.

The service at this hotel was exceptional. Upon our hot arrival, we were immediately offered refreshing drinks. Despite our limited English, the staff were incredibly patient and accommodating. Breakfast featured both buffet and à la carte choices, and the friendly servers even tried to pick up some Chinese phrases from us. The only slight downside was a noticeable new renovation smell in the corridors, although our room was thankfully free of it. While opening the window revealed a beautiful view, it also invited a few insects inside.

The room offered a fantastic view. Unfortunately, we checked in quite late and missed out on enjoying many of the hotel's amenities. The front desk staff at the hotel in Lucerne was as helpful as ever, providing excellent travel recommendations. Even though it was our second visit to Lucerne, we still really appreciated their advice.

I absolutely loved this hotel! The view from our window was stunning, with Lake Lucerne and snow-capped mountains right outside. A major highlight was the delicious breakfast, and it was incredibly convenient for my children to feed the seagulls and swans.
