This is such a wonderful gem of a hotel, it makes Lyon feel like a holiday home almost immediately. The front desk staff was only too happy to open the door to greet you, they are located in their own cozy corner on the ground floor, rather spartan because everything else - bar, breakfast spot, cocktail lounge - is up the stairs. The hotel may look deceptively quiet but we have stayed in such places where you feel like you have the whole place to yourself, when actually, it does have other hotel guests. Perched on the ancient Fourviere hills and two minutes down the slope from the Roman amphitheatre, the location is within walking distance to the Notre Dame as well as the funicular down to Vieux Lyon. The pool is really relaxing after a whole day of exploring the walking city, and has a fabulous spa of steam and sauna and massage services (book ahead). We checked in slightly earlier and were redirected to the cafe with a wide view of the city and rivers. Food was excellent. The concierge team is very friendly - Francois, Julien and Alvaro can quickly suggest and advise and research for you. Francois sorted out a dinner reservation for me where I had booked the wrong date and purchased extra meal vouchers. A really lovely time, we are telling everyone to go to Lyon now.

This was the second time I had stayed at the Grand Hotel des Terreaux. The hotel is in a central location in Lyon, and I like the style. The service was excellent, they speak English, and I loved the breakfast buffet. The room I stayed in was very nice but on the smaller side, typical for hotel rooms in France. The bed was very comfortable for me, and the room had air conditioning which is great as it can get quite warm in France. Wireless access was included, and fast and reliable. Overall an excellent hotel I can highly recommend.

Stayed at hotel during Rugby World Cup, and have to say room was very good for the price, and well proportioned. Nice bathroom, comfy bed, plenty of hanging space, and it was very clean. Was in room 504 which overlooked the front of the hotel. Breakfast was either continental or full, but was pretty basic whichever you had. Did always have enough to eat. Main disappointment of this place was the bar, which seemed mostly unmanned and shut at 10. Staff unwilling to open despite there being quite a few in bar area. Location is 2 tram stops from city centre, so easy to get to, and a few minutes from tram stop. A decent base for us, and pretty good value for money.

Elle est bien équipée et propre. A proximité il y a tous les commerces utiles. Un parking fermé est proposé pour 8€. C'est bien pour faire une étape.

Appartement correct où l’essentiel est à notre disposition. Attention au parking de l’hôtel qui est payant, c’est la première fois que je vois cela. Cela nous a dissuadé de prendre l’option petit déjeuner. L’hôtesse d’accueil a exigé que je paie la chambre à mon arrivée, jusque là aucun inconvénient de ma part sauf que désirant régler en espèces cette personne ne voulait pas m’éditer de reçu . Pour cela il fallait attendre le lendemain . Comment pouvais-je prouver le lendemain que j’avais réglé en espèces la veille…????? J’ai fini par régler en carte bleue, l’hôtesse me répond «  ça m’arrange ». L’idée n’est pas d’arranger le personnel mais plutôt la clientèle.Nous ne reviendrons pas. Je préfère de loin payer plus cher ailleurs.

Excellent rapport qualité-prix. Nous avons été très agréablement surpris par le professionnalisme de l'accueil, le confort de la chambre ainsi que la quantité comme la qualité du buffet du petit-déjeuner. Adresse que nous gardons, excellente pour nos courts séjours à Lyon, très accessible à tout point de vue: budget, proximité points de restauration à tarifs variés, transports en commun et parking, etc. Un vrai bon plan !

Lyon is known as a city of gastronomy and yet no local produce was served. The only cheese served were small plastic wrapped portions of Emmental which seemed an insult to the gastro-culture of Lyon.

Wir haben nur die eine Nacht vor dem Start unserer Kreuzfahrt dort geschlafen. Deshalb sind wir bei der Vorbereitung nicht intensiv eingestiegen. Deshalb haben wir schon geschluckt, als wir dann mit der Realität konfrontiert wurden: Der Preis 304 € für Lyon ist ok, weil die Lage des Hotels wirklich super in Nähe der Altstadt und vom Fluss ist. Haben wollte man 14 Tage vorher über 500 €. Die haben wir gebucht, den Preis beobachtet, als der sank haben wir storniert und neu gebucht. Die mehr als 500 € wäre das (gerade noch 3 Sterne) Hotel nicht wert gewesen. Insgesamt hat es uns an unsere Übernachtungen als Studenten in Paris erinnert: Das Zimmer mit Doppelbett (Queensversion) hat man uns gegeben. Bezahlt hatten wir zwei EInzelbetten. bei Reklamation wurde uns freundlichweise die Aufbereitung des Sofas angeboten. Wir mussten lachen. So wie über Einige mehr im Hotel. Wenn man Freude aan uralten Fenstern und deren museumsreifen Griffen, kitschigen Drucken an den Wänden und überhaupt an ”bewährter Ausstattung” hat, ist man dort richtig. Auf das Frühstück haben wir verzichtet. Das ist aber in Frankreich in typischen Familien-Hotels nie so, wie es z. B. in Deutschland ist. Das ist ok, weil man das weiß. Fazit: Lage perfekt, beim Rest Zähne zusammen und durch.

I loved it the place, good area and safe place Hermoso, limpio y acogedor lugar. El Desayuno debes pagarlo por separado su precio es 19:00EUR cada uno, pero incluye te, jugo de naranja natural, pan fresco, huevos, quesos y jamones entre otra cosas. Es conveniente cuando quieres trabajar desde el hotel unas cuantas horas durante la manana, antes de continuar el viaje, hacia Paris como era mi caso. L'ho adorato, buona zona e un posto sicuro
