Perfect place for total relax, fine dinners, elegant atmosphere, beautiful landscape. Highly recommended for VIP looking for place out of the routine stress.

Nestled above the Mackinac Straits with exceptional views of the Mackinac Bridge and norther Lake Michigan, The Inn at Stonecliffe is secluded enough from the rest of Mackinac Island activities that you can enjoy a private, revitalizing retreat without ever leaving the property. The food is exquisite and the staff are extremely friendly and accommodating. Yet, the Inn is close enough that a short bike ride or carriage ride brings you back to the main town, the fort, the airport, golf, shops and restaurants, etc. in no time. It is difficult to imagine a more idyllic but accessible resort with first-class amenities and a welcoming culture. I could see this becoming an annual pilgrimage for us.

The Inn at Stonecliffe is absolutely gorgeous. The updated decor and renovations make you feel like you are in true luxury. The staff is so helpful and go out of their way to ensure you are having a nice time and have everything you need. It is nice because The Inn at Stonecliffe is about 2 miles from Downtown and is so relaxing and quiet. We enjoyed bike riding, lawn activities, bonfires, the pool and all the great food. Would definitely be back.

My husband and I were guests during the soft opening of this beautiful resort with a purpose. We love the Humanitarian Hotel concept! It is easily one of the nicest places we have ever stayed- yet understated and never stuffy. It is located on the quieter part of the island, which was a welcome respite from Main Street . Our room was very comfortable and spacious, with a view of the Straits and the Mackinac Bridge from our private balcony. We rode the resort bikes all over the island, used the state of the art workout facilities, and enjoyed breakfast in the dining room. The staff were friendly and attentive, too. We didn’t have time to enjoy everything offered, such as the fire pits and lawn games, but we will be back. Highly recommend!

Approaching The Inn on a horse drawn carriage and being met by butlers outside set the tone for the entire weekend. We were treated like VIPs. Chef Joseph Nardo makes amazing gourmet meals and each meal was a masterpiece. His experience working at Michelin rated restaurants has made The Inn at Stonecliffe a destination for anyone who appreciates fine food. We looked forward to the flavours of every meal. The view overlooking the Straits of Mackinac and the Mackinac Bridge was breathtaking. The extensive renovations of the grounds and gardens were beautiful. The renovations of The Inn and dining room were very inviting. Our guest room was very comfortable and included a small sitting room with a television. The bedroom included two very comfortable queen beds and a television. There was complimentary bottled water, coffee, tea, and even a delicious Liberty Cookie Company cookie made in Hesel, MI. The pizza bistro had amazing garlic bites with zucchini wrapped inside, they very delicious. The friendly staff made us feel like we were very important, and were attentive throughout the stay. I highly recommend staying at the Inn at Stonecliffe. Our family will never forget the many wonderful memories we made.

The Inn at Stonecliffe sets a new standard in terms of accommodations, the natural beauty of the property, the exemplary service, and the wonderful dining options. My wife and I have stayed on the island on numerous occasions at a variety of establishments, and none compared to this newly renovated property. If you want to treat yourself to probably the finest hotel/resort environment in Michigan, then you need to stay at the Inn at Stonecliffe. In addition, the establishment of this facility as a Humanitarian Hotel elevates it to a different level of community and employee support.

Check-in was confusing, it took a long time and a separate staff member to figure out where our room was. The carpets were filthy as were the linens on the hide-a-bed. We were made to put clean linens on the bed ourselves. Lightbulbs were burned out in the bathroom. The “free” breakfast was embarrassingly awful. For the price of the room, I wouldn’t do it again. This property is also in no way handi-accessible.

This is our second time staying at the Stone Cliff mansion and our first time the room was absolutely beautiful and newly remodeled however this time we were a little disappointed that our room was somewhat out of date in the bathroom and the TV was not situated comfortably to watch it from bed or the chairs but overall it is gorgeous and we really enjoyed drinks on the back covered porch and walking to the Woods restaurant next-door. We were sadly shocked several of the staff seemed grumpy and unfriendly this stay. However we will definitely stay there again but perhaps be a little more picky about which room we choose. Hopefully someone can speak with the staff about hospitality and customer service for the future.
