My stay at the Intercontinental Madrid was an absolute delight from start to finish. The hotel's location is truly unbeatable, placing me right in the heart of the vibrant city, allowing easy access to all the must-see attractions. The service was impeccable - the staff went above and beyond to ensure my comfort and satisfaction throughout my stay. 朋友幫忙預訂酒店時有個小失誤,漏了從巴塞羅納回馬德里返程回國前的最後一晚。下午四點多到UVE hotel取寄存的行李箱,坐在大堂沙發上挑選着當晚落腳的酒店,糾結權衡一番,在新派設計師酒店和老牌國際連鎖酒店中選了後者。
馬德里洲際開業於1953年,名符其實的資深老店。門廳很小,幾位大叔級的門僮熱情的招呼着客人,卻也顯得很擁擠。辦理入住的前台也很小,縮在旋轉門入口左側。一位印度裔小哥接待我check in,溝通很順利,房費大約2500rmb,攜程上已付款全款,預授權的按金衹收了50歐。刷卡輸密碼時,pos機衹顯示了四位數,我説我的密碼是六位數,他也一愣,轉頭問旁邊的西班牙姑娘。姑娘説不影響,直接輸,果然,按到第五、六個數字時,屏幕上的*就自然增加顯示了。

歐洲酒店的電梯都很狹小,和他們人高馬大的身量很不匹配。辦完手續,小哥特意提醒我可以把行李交給行李員,大叔也滿懷期待的過來想要接過行李。和在門口下車時一樣,我婉拒了,行李箱很輕,身上只有10歐面值的紙幣,捨不得做小費。
建於70年前的酒店處處顯出歲月的痕跡和審美風格。樓道古樸、簡單得甚至談不上有設計和審美,彷佛職工宿舍。唯一的裝飾是牆上的畫框,裝裱的不是畫作,是一百年前的馬德里街景,與老店的氣質倒是相得益彰。歷史感還體現在空調。Honeywell在被格力、美的佔據的中國幾乎絕跡;在液晶顯示面板一統江湖的空調市場,旋鈕式的温控面板近乎古董。
衹住一晚,總共衹待十幾個小時,第二天九點多要退房回國,就選了個25平米的小標間對付一晚,折算下來,這間房每平米日租金100元。面積小,一張一米五的床、一張小寫字枱、一個電視櫃就幾乎佔滿卧室所有空間,整理行李衹能攤在寫字枱上。電視機沒有正對床頭,擺在右側牆邊。那晚歐冠決賽,皇馬2:0戰勝多特蒙德捧杯,我是側扭着脖子斜撐着腰看完下半場。衞生間也小,Byredo的衞浴用品扳回一城,這家瑞典香水品牌2022年5月被西班牙Puig集團收購股權,也許為進軍西班牙市場起到決定性作用。
一夜算是好眠。沒時間像平日休假那樣早上起來先去泳池泡泡水,早起直接下樓去餐廳。狹小的電梯轎廂裏遇見一對歐洲父女,姑娘纖細端莊站姿挺拔,身高大概一米八,真是養眼。電梯門打開,門廳裏的大叔們依然熱情,主動過來詢問需求,指引去餐廳的方向。太太説,這次她先聽懂,over the piano。
餐廳前台站着的漂亮姑娘引導着我們走入明亮的內廳。路過的服務員大叔和姑娘向我們問好,卻不是全球對外國客人最通用的morning。一個詞組,音節很多,後來回想應該是西語的早安,Buenos dias。轉入內廳的一瞬間,眼前一亮,除了陽光從大尺寸玻璃窗折射進來的明媚,還因為餐具、鮮花共同營造出的浪漫氣息。
台北文華東方一直是我心中酒店自助早餐的天花板,沒想到無心插柳將就對付一晚的馬德里洲際給到意外的驚喜。首先是種類豐富。麪包十幾種,從內廳延伸到外廳;芝士、火腿、水果一衹手都數不過來。其次是品質高。西班牙火腿全球聞名,整衹火腿最差也要30歐元一公斤,100%伊比利亞黑豬的切片價格翻數倍,而這裏的早餐,jamon管夠,油脂分佈均勻,口感非常潤澤,入口就知道等級不低。也是在西班牙,我養成了每天早餐吃芝士的習慣,儘管分不清種類和名稱,那充滿濃郁奶香又各有不同的風味讓人體味到微生物發酵的魔力。陽光充沛的伊比利亞半島盛產水果,糖分充足,餐廳細心的用小杯分裝,方便取食也更加有效的預防浪費。兩種等級的車釐子混裝,那頓早餐實現了火腿、芝士、車釐子自由。
人少時,內廳一到兩名服務生打理,客人稍多時,會機動增加至三人。男士普遍年長,應當是洲際的資深員工,和老牌酒店倒是氣質相符。那天的姑娘從長相看像是拉美裔,在對待我們和歐美客人時,服務有着明顯的差別。她端着咖啡壺走來走去,問了鄰桌所有客人,卻始終不到我們這桌。刻意觀察了她的狀態,的確是在看人下菜。兩位大叔服務員完全不同,一視同仁的友善。
退房時頗有些戀戀不捨。
