Very good place and good hotel with good service I came back

Excellent from check in to check out

Hotel worn down. Swimming pool very murky. Breakfast buffet very good and tasty. Rooms spacious but bed was too hard to sleep on.

Hotel staff are very friendly and accommodating. However, I do have some comments with regard to the general appearance. Public areas beyond the foyer are showing their age in terms of paintwork marked and kicked about from luggage being dragged up and down the staircase which due to lack of a lift. Corridors are dimly lit with half the lighting either not working on not switched on Room service trays left outside bedroom doors along the second floor were still there the following morning, despite a service trolley discarded at t the top of the stairs empty and in a dirty condition. I would have assumed this is to collect glasses and trays. Perhaps due to a shift change or forgotten. The cleanliness of the bedrooms and bathrooms each time I have stayed here is excellent. My only issue has been the lack of power sockets. If a work space is being provided, then there really needs to he power socket accessible the one directly underneath the desk is a 3 pin rounded lamp socket. The only socket without an appliance plugged in was the opposite end of the room, to the work desk half way up the wall. Considering this is a newly fitted power socket as it had the USB slots I can’t understand why have it where it has absolutely no use. Replacement soft closers on the doors would help reduce the constant banging of doors. The general appearance and attention to detail isn’t quite there, I am not sure if there is a staff shortage or a training issue.

The staff couldn't do enough for us, the room was good, the food was amazing, and the spa was amazing, There are a few things I would change. 1. In the health club, it would be brilliant if you could cover that back wall with relaxing spa loungers so after you have got out the sauna or steam room, you can have a lie down and relax. Me and my husband wanted to lay down for half hour but there was only three spa loungers and kids were on them so we sat on chairs for 5 minutes, then went back to the room. The spa however was amazing, hot tub, sauna, steam room, absolutely perfect, thank you. We stayed in an accessible room which was lovely, however the bed was so massive, if you could get a smaller bed in that room, put a small sofa in there, make a little living room area, that would be nice. Also, there was a night light in the hallway area, it took me a while to get to sleep because when it's dark, that's a very bright light, and its not blue which is nice on the eyes, it was green so if you could put a cover over the light so it's not so bright, that might work. Me and my husband will be booking again in the next few months, great stay, and for a hotel right next to a busy A road, very quiet so it was really peaceful. I would say ****4 stars

We booked this little getaway for my son's 13th birthday. On arrival, we were told that the pool and jacuzzi were closed until further notice, (which was the main reason for booking). I had received no emails to tell me this, otherwise we would have probably cancelled. So they gave us 20% off of our dinner and a complimentary drink each in their restaurant. After a mediocre dinner in the restaurant, my partner had an upset stomach and we didn't see him for a while, if you know what I mean. We slept okay. Bed's were quite comfortable, pillow's not so much. The pool was not open until approximately 5pm Saturday after having to constantly be in contact with the pool area to find out this. So we headed down looking forward to a nice dip... Lovely sauna, nice jacuzzi (very strong chlorine), everyone's eyes were stinging, and yep, you guessed it. Cold pool. So thought we'd try again Sunday morning, still cold. What a disappointing way to spend celebrating my son's 13th birthday. The receptionist gave me a card to email the operations manager, he replied after 48 hours, and all he could offer us was an upgrade, if even available, for the next time we book with them! I couldn't believe it! The audacity of the man. None of us will return in the future, as not only has this experience put us off, but the lack of concern for your paying guests needs is unreal.

Just a lovely hotel for business people. Exceptional staff made things easy. Nikki at reception was super helpful, Marco in the restaurant offered exceptional service and hospitality and in the business centre Taylor was super patient when tech let me down. Really super stay.

Nice hotel within, rooms spotless and comfy, I would only say a little out dated compared to other hotels i have stayed inn.

Lovely welcome and room. All was good apart from one thing: the sauna, steam room and hot tub all had little kids under 8 on there running in and out despite the signs. I have a baby and toddler myself but didn’t dream of putting them in a hot tub for obvious reasons!!! There was even a baby in the hot tub and and this really needs to be managed better and for staff to say something and not just turn a blind eye.

Only thing that let it down was having to pay for parking when we had paid in excess of £200 for one nights stay … chose for location which can’t be faulted

We checked in and allocated our room, As soon as we opened the room, as none smokers, we could smell stale smoke. We looked out of the ground floor window and could see a collection of cigarette butts on the gravel outside the window. Reception offered to change the room (after a long wait) but as we were tired and hungry we opted to go and eat and put up with the room. The hotel clearly has a lax none-smoking policy, or the cleaners smoke, so they would not notice the smell in the room. This hotel used to be a Hilton, but now not up to Hilton standards.
