Very good location like 5 minutes walk from Haram and just behind clock tower building and my room was partial Haram View so I could see people going and coming from entrance of Haram.Many food outlets and grocery shops were just next to hotel.Only issue was horn sounds from busses and cars as it’s just opposite bus and taxi station.Room size and facilities were good but only bathroom needs some renovation as it doesn’t smell good.Staff was very friendly.

Friendly staff and the hotel location is very convenient. This has been advertised as a 5* Hotel, which it is not. It is a 4*. Staff are helpful, although housekeeping is a bit slack. Rooms are pretty tight but enough to use as a base and rest. Breakfast has enough for anyone to eat. Remember, the taxis do not stop by the hotel. You will need to walk with bags to the main road.
Makarem Umm Al Qura Hotel

I had actually booked Makarem Al Bait but they contacted me to inform that the hotel was undergoing refurbishment so my reservation was moved to um Al Qura. Would have been nice to get a similar email from Umm Al Qura branch confirming my reservation there. The hotel is very nice. Room service is every day and they also leave you with bottled water each day. I have no complaints about the hotel itself. If you can get B&B, half board or even Full board at decent value then consider it and here's why... There is only one place outside the hotel to get food and it's a dinky little shawarma fast food place. The Hotel is located somehwre you would not want to walk to/from Haram, both due to distance but also a steep hill it involves (coming and going). To counter this, the hotel have a shuttle service made of 2 coaches running alternately. The coach runs every 30 mins from the hotel and back. They AC is always on in the coach, even whilst waiting for it to depart. Well worth tipping the driver(s) on your first day so that they recognise you. The shuttle takes 5 mins drive to drop you off at Ajyad bus station which is then a 7-10 min walk into Masjid Al HAram. So far so good... Now when making your return journey back to hotel you're faced with manic at Ajyad bus station. The number of shuttles services far exceed the capacity the station can cope with but then the people walking across the yard don't help make it easier to find your coach. It's a catch 22 situation. The busses don't stop at a dedicated service stop in the station, it's first come first serve as the busses arrive and find parking. often double, triple or quadruple parking. You then have to hunt around trying to find your bus, especially as they all look the same. You need to remember your bus number and/or look out for the hotel poster on the windscreen. The busses exert a lot of heat from their engines, added to teh stress of finding your bus. it's not so bad after say Asr, maghreb or maybe zuhr. But as everybody is trying to get back to hotel after ISha it is organised chaos. The above is in no way unique to makarem. Other hotels using same station will have same problem. This is a Makkah Transport Authority issue. Whilst the hotel is great, for the above reason i would not consider using this hotel again until transport issues were resolved by city authorities.
Hilton Hotel & Convention Jabal Omar Makkah

It was a very pleasant stay at Hilton Makkah Convention. As always expected from this hotel, everything was great starting from the reception and front desk team. Ms Hatoon Fattah and Mr. Amr Hassan were very professional, helpful and supportive. Mr. Mahmoud in the executive lounge was very decent and helpful and confirm the excellent hospitality of this hotel. The hotel has a great prayer hall with a direct view to the holly Haram and a shuttle bus to and from the holly Haram.
Makkah Clock Royal Tower, A Fairmont Hotel

Bilik berharga 2,000 yuan semalam memberikan pemandangan sampah Bilik itu menghadap tempat letak kereta dan runtuhan. Sarapan pagi tidak sehebat hotel empat bintang domestik Bilangan hidangan panas adalah kurang daripada 3, dan ia pada dasarnya adalah nasi goreng dan sosej yang berkualiti rendah. Kemudahan bilik sudah lama dan ***anya seperti hotel lama di China. Lebih-lebih lagi, penyelenggaraan bilik tidak mengikut piawaian kosong dan tiada apa-apa. Selain daripada lokasi, hotel ini pada dasarnya tidak mempunyai apa-apa untuk ditawarkan untuk satu malam dan hotel The Hilton dan Conrad di sebelahnya adalah satu pertiga lebih baik daripada yang ini, dan kualitinya berkali-kali lebih baik. Hotel ini hanya bernilai 300 semalam, tidak lebih.

POSITIVE : - The proximity to Masjidil Haram and the Holy Kaaba. - Sufficient size of room for a family NEGATIVE : Restaurant - Have been travelling around the continent for many years, this was the WORST hotel service we have ever had. - We were SHOCKED for having the staffs, particularly restaurant staffs, were so RUDE, UNFRIENDLY and ARROGANT. None of them wore smiles while serving guests. - The staffs THREW plates and cutleries, BANGING trays, moving chairs rudely with guests were still around them. - They served all guests with PLASTIC spoon and fork. They literally served guests dining like serving workers. - Even a couple of them, having EARPHONE on their ears, talking on the phone while serving breakfast like nobody see them. We were terribly shocked to find that kind of ARROGANCY. - The hotel as if hiring a group of GANGSTER working at the restaurant. Room - We were given a room right in the corner, among the rooms that were having renovation projects. - The dusts, noises, and the filthy dirty surroundings were out of our imagination. The experience that was completely different from the Le Meridien, not far away from this hotel, where I am the member of their Marriott membership. We did not want to make so much noise about those experience as we came here for worshipping and prayers. But seriously, we do hope that the management will do something about their service culture.
