We were relocated to Atlantis Residence when our original hotel we booked was closed. This is the first time we arrived at a hotel we booked online, and the hotel was closed. With the booking reference, we called the number indicated and a man picked up the call and responded, “Refer to my WhatsApp” and he hang up the phone. Throughout our text exchanged, he mentioned that the room we booked was not available and the building was cut off with water supply. He will relocate us to Atlantis Residence which is nearby. When we reached Atlantis Residence, he continued to direct us via WhatsApp to collect the room key from his helper at the lobby and wanted us to pay via CASH for our night stay including a RM100 Deposit. We stayed in unit B0805 in Atlantis Residence. The apartment was a bit rundown; bed sheets and sofa were stained and dirty. The wifi in the apartment is also not working. The next day when due to check out, I texted the man again on how to return the key and get back my deposit. He redirects us to return the key to lobby mailbox B1411 and claimed he will return the deposit via Singapore PayNow to me. Although I have doubts, we need to rush off to another location, I have no choice but to return the key as per his instructions. Yes indeed, we will con of RM100 as he blocked me on WhatsApp after we checked out. Please beware of this scammer, do not book from him or if yes, do not pay him any deposit.
