Our 4th visit, and the hotel is better than ever. It is an historic building, having been a convent until 2009. Many original features remain, and have been beautifully restored. A new innovation is the provision of a leaflet detailing the building's history with a handy ground floor plan. Using this, we were able to explore parts of the hotel we hadn't been aware of. E.g. the Via Cruscis with it's 14 sculptures of the Stations of the Cross, and the Memorial Garden. The latter is the old nun's cemetery, now planted with lavender and a very peaceful space to sit and just be. The food is of a high quality, but it's the staff that are the reason we keep returning. They are all very friendly and efficient. We hope to be back next year.
