Doringpoort Lodge

We had an amazing 7 days at Doringport Apies. We would definitely recommend iDoringport . Our was accommodation was excellent and the staff outstanding.

Great value for money and a good base to explore Kruger or stay over night before entering the park. Colin the owner and Marina (locally) were fantastic from the beginning to end. Very near to the river, less than a 5 minutes walk with clear view of Crocodile River and Kruger NP. Animals roaming Marloth Park free and we had Impalas visiting us plus few giraffes and warthogs along the main road. Room was very good with all the amenities. Staff were lovely and we even got our car washed before returning to Johannesburg. The only small issue I would say is that the inner roads can be challenging for small car so drive carefully.

This lodge is located very close to the Crocodile river, which gives you a possibility to reach it withing a couple on minutes and watch the animals coming to the river from the Kruger park. The small house we stayed in was a bit small but contained everything we needed, including the kitchen and bathroom with a shower. There was a roofed fireplace nearby with a table, where it was possible to grill. The room service worked well, and the room was cleaned up every day. Some pieces in the house looked a bit old., but all was functional. Not much storage for the personal belongings. We had a great stay!

A huge house like in a Disney cartoon - animals are everywhere :) Marloth Park is a unique wildlife+accommodation project. The town and its villas are drowned in trees and bushes full of animals roaming around. We were excited to see giraffes, kudu, warthog, zebras, impala, wildebeest, monkeys and other animals all around the village. They roam freely, so meeting them everywhere is a part of staying in Doringpoort lodge :) The house itself has 3 bedrooms, a huge dining/living room, 3 bathrooms with 2 showers, a fully equipped kitchen with all the dishes and utensils, a BBQ area and and outdoor dining hall - all with fantastic wooden handmade designer furniture and some antique items. The beds are comfortable, there's always electricity available as they have a generator on the property, European sockets, Wifi and hot water. There were no mosquitoes in our rooms. The pool is 3 by 2 metres, very nice to realx after a day of safari. Kruger Park is right across the river from Marloth Park, and Crocodile River Bridge Gate into the park is 20 min drive. We walked 100m to the river and saw the animals of Kruger park there - Hippos, elephants, buffalo and a multitude of birds... In the evening, while we were making a BBQ, Bush babies came to visit - we fed them bananas :) We also visited a wildlife park right in the middle of the village - Lionspruit reserve. It takes 2-3 hours to drive around, and we saw all kinds of wonderful wildlife very close to us... Amazing! Marina, the manager of Doringpoort, was always there for us. The cleaning was every day, everything was very tidy and efficient. Thank you very much for such an unforgettable experience! · The property exceeded our expectations :)

We had a very relaxing time. Enjoyed the quietness and also the nature around us. We will definitely use this facility again. The wifi just doesn't pick up at the point where we have stayed but haven't bother us due to the fact that we were there to rest. But is definitely something to look at for others

to sit in comfort and a relaxed environment and have wild animals of every type, culour and species almost within arms reach is a experience everyone should have in there lifetime and Dooringpoort offers this. Cant wait to go back
