Riad Elixir

We stayed in Riad Elixir over half ten for 1 week with our 14 year old son. Kahlid was an excellent and humble host. He helped us book taxis and escorted us to a couple of the local restaurants. But also gave us time to chat about life in Marrakesh over the last few years. The Riad is beautiful. Clean and quiet. The only failing was it is a little far out from the sights. However for that reason it is quiet and you don't get hassled walking in local streets as it seems to be a residential area. I would definatly stay there again and I would highly recommend the place to other.

This was my first time in Marrakech and Khalid and the other household gave me a wonderful time in Riad Elixir. Khalid came to pick me up from the taxi, because taxi's are not allowed in the Medina. Hè welcomed me in the riad with the typical maroccan tea, so nice. He showed me my room, which was super large and comfortable. He walked with me and showed me the way where I could see or buy things which I needed. I really feit very safe. The room was very tidy and clean, thanks to the lovely ladies in the house. They wanted to make sure that I had everything I needed. The rooftop was very clean, nice and cosy. I really liked the breakfast, every day they added something new on the table. I loved the peaceful atmosphere and the birds singing in the morning. When it was my time to leave Khalid helped me with printing my seatreservation for the plane and he called the taxi for me. Thank you, thank you, thank you all very much for making my stay unforgetable. I would love to come again some day!

My stay at the Riad Elixir was enjoyable. Being end of season I had the entire Riad to myself and my host Khalid was always available when needed. Khalid kindly met me at my transport drop-off to escort me to the Riad and kindly carried one of my bags. My breakfast was always prepared at a time suited to me - I am an early riser! I even accidently locked the Riad door from the inside and luckily heard poor Khalid knocking at the door which was taken in the best humour - I'm so sorry :) I wouldn't hesitate to stay at the Riad Elixir again under the stewardship of Khalid.

Me and my father stayed in this Riad for 5 days (15/1 - 20/1). When we arrived by shutllebus in the area (Medina) I was a little bit sceptic. The Medina has a lot of dark and small alleys which make the area look sketchy if you are not used to it But Khalid was such a good host and waited for us outside to walk with us to the Riad. As of his kind service was not enough, he welcomed us with "Moroccan whiskey" (mint tea) As you walk through the Medina day by day you will notice that the area around the Riad is safe. Just greet the local people with salaam and you will notice quickly that the people are very humble, social. The Riad is not easy to find (it is in an alley nearby the mosque Sidi El Azziz). If you take a cab (i.e. from Gueliz) to the Riad, you can tell the cabdriver to bring you to the gate at "Trik Souika" (that is near the Zawihya Sidi bel Abbas, see picture). From that gate it takes less time to walk to the Riad (approx. 5 to 10 min) The room was good enough for us. We slept very good in the Riad. So in general the Riad can be recommended if you are planning to stay a few days in Marrakech. To Khalid and the other staff, if you read this: "shukran bzeff" for the hospitality/service. Nous avons passé 5 jours dans ce riad. Nous avons beaucoup apprécié le calme de l'endroit qui tranche avec l'agitation de Marrakech. Une mention spéciale à hayett, Khalid et khamar qui sont des personnes d'une gentillesse et d'un dévouement extraordinaire. Côté positif, les petits déjeuners : copieux, excellents et différents chaque jour. Autre point positif : la literie, vraiment bien ! Le bassin, bien agréable après des journées à 43°. Côté critique, le riad est très agréable, et gagnerait en charme si quelques travaux (nécessaires) de rafraîchissement étaient effectués. Nous en retenons principalement l'accueil et la gentillesse du personnel qui nous a vraiment touché !

Très beau Riad familial, dans le quartier El Ghanem à environ 20 min de la place El Efna, mais le trajet est très sympa à faire. C'est un quartier artisanal, et calme. Le taxi vous dépose à 200m du Riad. Le Riad est très propre, il y a 5 chambres, une superbe terrasse, les lit sont top, les salles de bain de belle taille, le petit déjeuné très bien et copieux et différent tout les jours. Tout le monde est à votre écoute, avec le sourire. Notre séjour a été très agréable, grace à la gentillesse de toutes l'équipe. J'y retournerais sans aucun doute.
