Coorg Wilderness Resort & Spa

The resort stood by its name and was actually an experience of wilderness in a true sense. It is built in the middle of a rainforest and most of the dense forest is restored as is. There are a variety of birds that you could see just from the balcony (depending on the view of the room chosen). I would recommend the wilderness hill view suite as it gives an uninterrupted sight of the rain forest extending till the hills surrounding the area. The room was exactly as shown in the pictures. The resort is not too old and the interiors looks fresh and welcoming. The facilities in the Resort are top class and one doesn't necessarily need to step out of the resort for anything and should truly have a relaxing stay. Every morning you get to wakeup at the sight of mist surrounding the property and calming sound of birds chirping. The facilities at the Resort that used was the Swimming pool which was very enjoyable. Spa facility also has a lot of options to truly rejuvenate. We opted for the adventure Safari which was a good off-roading experience which was followed by a visit to the farm maintained by the Resort. The early morning bird watching walk and the nature walks are also very good. The food @ Habba restaurant was good and most of the food offered was tasty. Service at the Resort is also good with very prompt and polite staff who are always ready to help. I just wished the Coastal cuisine restaurant "Vembanad" had more options for vegetarians and the cuisine is not very welcoming for folks who are new to the cuisine and want to try it out. we totally passed on this one. The Interiors in the room and all the places inside the premises are classy and give a certain vintage feel. This is my second visit to Paul John Resorts and both of the stays have been wonderful !!!

It’s located amidst Coorg’s beautiful wilderness, surrounded by tall trees and distant mountains, visible from most rooms and property balconies. The lighting at the resort is done with a lot of thought, giving it a magical vibe at night. During check-in, our appointed stay manager Aswathi escorted us to the rooms and explained every detail of the room, from the lights to the switches. Special mention to her for her professional and cordial management throughout our stay. The rooms are palatial, even the basic category ones feel extremely royal - their amazing staff adds a touch of excellence too. They have a big-enough fitness center with a dedicated trainer, something that even 5-star properties often miss out on. Coorg Wilderness is sure to make it to the country’s best resorts with this level of service & dedication.

Coorg Wilderness Resort was a relaxing retreat for our family! The moment we arrived, we felt welcomed and at ease. The kids had an absolute blast, enjoying the various activities and games provided by the resort. Special mention to Mr. Hari - with a warm smile he is very attentive to any details and makes sure that we have a great and wonderful time at the resort. The hospitality was truly amazing - the staff were warm, friendly, and always willing to go the extra mile to make our stay special. Mridhul - making sure the rooms is ready and our requests were accepted and made sure things were going through without any hassles. Vembanad restaurant - the fish moliee and the fish manga curry with appam was just too great - saji my cousin asked to give a special mention to this Special mention to Shivani & Sangeetha from housekeeping, who provided exceptional service with a smile! The resort’s serene surroundings, luxurious amenities, and delicious food made our stay truly unforgettable. We highly recommend Coorg Wilderness Resort for a relaxing and rejuvenating family getaway !!! As mentioned on our luggage tag we left our heart at Coorgwilderness.

The resort is very well maintained. Though prices are a higher side but the aminities are good and the food is tasty, hygienic and wholesome.Had a great interaction with Manager Mr. harikrishna and also with Housekeeping supervisor Ms.Shivani Naik. Shivani is an employee who is an absolute gem and an asset for the resort. May be ready for higher responsibilities. The only thing which i had problem with was with checkin which took inordinate delay. One hour to be precise. Rest all fine.

We had visited Coorg 11 years back and were very keen to revisit beautiful Coorg / Madekeri again. We fortunately finalised Coorg wilderness resort as our place to stay and were not disappointed at all . Right from the booking stage ,to the day of arrival they were interactive and eager to sort out everything including the small booking confusion which occurred. As it was a special occasion for us -they made every effort to make it even more special -upgraded room ,room decoration and wine and cake -Mridul and Hariharan were very helpful indeed . The rooms are huge (we had a hill view suite) and well appointed-the bathrooms are like mini rooms either bathtubs .The USP of course is the private balcony with amazing hill views with such comfortable chairs that we spend hours relaxing there with our kindles ,drinks and snacks . The resort is built on various levels and have a very efficient buggy service to take one around . It is abound with greenery and one is greeted by nature sounds only and of course of the birds . There are two restaurants-Habba and Vembanad with various food options . Breakfast at habba was a sumptuous spread and also evening tea is served here . The Restaurant has plenty of sitting area with a huge outdoor balcony where one gets impressive views and one can hear and watch birds . We are avid bird watchers and indulged in daily treks in our own plus as part of their activities including tree plantation trek and sunset point trek . We saw and manged to photograph a lot of birds including the Malabar hornbill and white cheeked Barbet The staff is very friendly and special mention to Rashmi,Sisira and Monika . A perfect place to relax in pollution free environment amongst nature . The swimming pool is nice though we did not use it . They have a spa and gym also . Only one point that needs attention -the bath tub is not friendly for the slightly elderly or women as there no step to get in,no hand rails and no antiskid inside -difficult especially to get out from it . And as they host a lot of corporate events that can be a bit noisy sometimes as we faced on our last night there . Definitely a place highly recommend for a relaxing break amongst nature

The resort was just Amazing!! So happy with the facilities and the services. Special mention to Usman, our support person for arranging all the facilities and giving a walk through of the entire facilities available. Absolutely gobsmacked with the environment!!
