Hotel Metropolitan City of Bologna dengan Gim

We reserved a week (6 nights) at this hotel. The reservation process was not easy. Any question you ask, they ask you to send an email. That’s fine as that is the way things work in Italy. However, they did not answer emails. We thought to ourselves that if the reservation process is that challenging, maybe that is a sign. Nonetheless, my wife decided to try one last time and all fell into place. We should have listened to our first impression and instinct. The hotel is beautifully located on an elevation which gives nice views. The rooms are modern and nicely decorated and equipped. However, the service is far from the 5 stars they claim to be. Prior to our trip, we tried to enlist their help to recommend and possibly reserve visits fro prosciutto tasting, cheese tasting, and wine tasting. The front desk staff was not responsive. Called and spoke to the manager. She managed to reserve wine tasting but none of the others. “They never got back to me” she said. Hmmm. OK. A little strange that a 5-star hotel of this size would not be able to reserve these things, which are super common in the area as we found out upon taking on the task ourselves. We served as our own Concierge. Reserved visits and it was not as hard as she made it seem. The prosciutto and cheese makers got back to us just fine and reserved a visit. We had reserved a suite and a room. Upon arrival, we were informed that the room was upgraded to a suite. Nice! Unfortunately, after the first night, using the shower resulted in flooding the room. The night person who was on duty was very nice and did his best to help clean the water but could not fix anything. The next morning, we informed the day staff and they were to look into it. In the interim, we were told not to use the shower. Not the response we had hoped for. No “we can move you to another room. Sorry for the inconvenience, etc..” The next day, workers came to fix it - supposedly. Upon returning after a hot day visiting the area, we tried to shower: flood again! Next day, spoke to the same front desk manager. It turned out that they “fixed” the bathtub, which was not at all leaking. She acknowledged this was miscommunication between her staff and herself. She did not offer anything more than “I will speak to them”. We are now 3 days without a functioning shower. Workers returned the next day and we were informed by email that the shower cannot be fixed. They offered to move us to 2 different rooms. We are now nearing the end of our stay. And the prospect of packing everything and moving when we have 2 nights left was less than appealing. Had this bee offered initially, rather than 2-3 days later, it might have been better. We explained this. We also expressed dissatisfaction about the whole situation, including the miscommunication that took place that led to further delay to figure out the issue, our inability to use the shower in the room, etc. The manage simply offered “I will speak to them”. No show of any apolo

Be sure to arrive during the times they say because you cannot get inside the gate of you don't. Also, there were no basic toiletries in the bathroom I.E. hand soap. Transportation is limited to Uber and that is quit expensive. The owner was nice enought to drive us to the train station.

Tutto bene all’Ipoint Hotel di Bologna. Personale gentile, camera confortevole e ben disposta. Wi-Fi ottimo e bagno con tutto il necessario. La colazione non la posso valutare perché siamo partiti la mattina presto e non ne abbiamo usufruito. (Cestino da asporto non disponibile). A parte la moquette in camera tutto ok.

Room: standard twin room, guest room, 2 twin beds Price: 415 EUR / 3 nights A double bed made up of two beds side by side that are not connected or anchored to the wall or floor in any way so everything fits between the beds, one night I fell into a hole between the beds. The mattress is too soft and not a good sleep. I usually wake up once a night, but here I wake up 10 times. The room is equipped with a smart TV with Netflix. The room, was clean and the bathroom. So were the towels. The room is not equipped with a coffee maker. The location of the hotel is not very good for tourists from another country. From the train station you have the option to walk or take a bus, it's about 5 stations about 2 km away, after the station you are outside the old tourist center in a place residential for locals, location is probably the biggest negative of the hotel. The hotel itself tried to block payment 48 hours in advance, after a failed block on the bank account the hotel threatened to cancel the reservation, so I transferred the money to my bank account on a credit card and within 12 hours the hotel blocked the payment, even though I requested payment on the spot, directly at the hotel. It's an annoying complication when the rules don't apply to both parties. Also, I don't arrive at three instead of one and request the same room. I would probably not stay here again and would choose a hotel in the historic center.

Each has an equipped kitchenette and an LCD TV, some have a balcony or furnished terrace.

Bellissima struttura in una suggestiva location. Personale gentilissimo, cibo buono, camere dotate di ogni comfort, piscina molto bella e ampia. Dall'hotel si può raggiungere facilmente il centro di Bologna, sia con i mezzi che con la propria auto. Segnalo che appena siamo arrivati ci hanno offerto un upgrade gratuito del nostro soggiorno, offrendoci una camera migliore di quella che avevamo prenotato

Everyone would agree that they don't want to let others know where they like very much. This hotel provides pleasure and comfort, as evidenced by the friendly expressions on the staff. The spacious room and large bathtub are enough to relieve fatigue throughout the day, and I like the restaurant food. The proximity to the train station gives good transportation access. You may think the facility is a little old, but there is no inconvenience at all. Above all, I liked the bed. One thing is regrettable that there were no free drinks in the room.

Two stars because it is a nice hotel with comfortable beds. Thats about it. It is certainly not a five star hotel, which it purports to be. We arrived around 8pm and advised reception that we needed to leave for the airport at five am. At some point reception advises that the booking was for one person and they had to charge us for the second. I have never heard of this! So for the extra person for our 8 hour stay, they wanted €100! What the hell for? I looked on a booking sight and showed the receptionist that I could still book a room (which would come with a free bottle of wine) for two people for exactly what I paid. Receptionist kept saying that it would be more if i booked through the hotel. Lets follow the logic here. Why would i book directly through the hotel if the same room is less on a booking sight? The most irritating part is that she kept laughing inappropriately for some unknown reason. The male receptionist kept insisting that the € 100 was for the ”free” hot breakfast. We reminded him that we had to leave before breakfast was served. He assured us that there would be a cart full of food in the morning before we left. Long story short, that did not happen. There was a cart with coffee and a few pastries. But wait, there's more! The man at the reception in the morning told us that if we had asked, they would have made us breakfast. That would have been nice if it was ever suggested by reception at check in! A real five star hotel would have just taken the initiative to prepare the bagged breakfast for us given the conversation had the night before. I also enjoyed how the staff talked down to us insisting that a €100 per person euro fee is totally normal. Because I've never stayed in a hotel before! Thats sarcasm btw. Again, this certainly was not a five star experience. And just to compare apples to apples, we stayed at a four star hotel when we arrived in bologna 10 days earlier. It was 1/5 the cost, the staff much more accommodating and was just as comfortable and nice. So do yourself a favor and ignore the alleged five star rating and save your money and nerves by staying anywhere else.

Amazing! The rooms were luxurious with amazing air-conditioning and perfect view. The breakfast is delicious with many thing to choose from. The staff is kind and professional and the location is perfect for transport. Would recommend for everyone.

One battle hardened Fathers birthday gift from his children , hasten to add 21 and 25 . Having had no input was very apprehensive on what they had booked . All apprehension disappeared the moment I stepped into the hotel . Firstly deal with the ”big one” re the reviews , Location. Yes the hotel is walkable 30 to 40 minutes away from the centre. With young kids wouldn't reccomend it. Neighbourhood where the hotel is situated is residential but totally fine . We returned most nights around midnight and no.probs . Bus number 25 is 2 min walk from the hotel , pointed out by the two helpful girls on reception. A euro odd and 20 mins in the city or 15 mins outside the train station. Runs on time. So no issues. Hotel itself is lovely and modern . Elegant and stylish . The reception area nice and clean and always was greeted jovially by various staff at point of entry and exit throughout the day. Always on hand to give advice and information. First night , the girls on reception pointed out a local Italian eatery 5 mins away and boy where we blown away by the food . They reccomended taxis , travel tips etc etc .So superb and thanks all. The rooms are lovely , spacious, clean and filled with everything you need for your stay and everything works . Iron , safe , hair dryer , minibar etc etc didn't need anything other than what was provided . Bathroom is a shower room and again everything was clean , toiletries provided together with ample towels. Claudia the cleaner , never met or saw you but thanks for making the bed and keeping things neat and tidy . Breakfast is a subtle and functional affair. Don't expect the great British fry up . What is offered is the usual items with a touch of class. The standard fare is plenty . At this point I must commend the staff Superb , attentive and could not do enough . Pierre Paulo who manned the breakfast department, showing you to your table each morning, armed with a smile and casual yet professional manner was exceptional although he is an Arsenal fan - kidding. Hats off and thanks from all of us Pierre , I'm sure you'll know who we are. Drinks at the bar are.pricey , only gripe BUT there is a superstore 5 minutes around the corner to stock up if you need . So what else can I say besides book it.
