Hotel berhampiran Musée La Cour d'Or, Metz

I was a bit concerned about parking in a public car park for three days but in the event it was trouble free and easy. Hotel also offered a discounted payment which was explained clearly on arrival. Room was good. Pull down sofa for my son was comfortable and shower etc better than adequate. Staff were all friendly and helpful with enough English to help our stuttering French. Breakfast was good for price but on one of the two mornings the coffee machine broke down and caused a lot of issues in a very busy breakfast area. Position was superb, with easy access to Metz sites. Lots of restaurants nearby abd hotel bar was pleasant. Will definitely use again on future cross France journeys.

It's a very simple self service Hotel in the City Centre. It looks a little bit like a Hospital. When we phoned, the person on the phone didn't speak English. Later the Woman of the reception spoke perfectly English. You can check-in until 8.00 pm. Later is possible, but you have to phone. Then they give you the codes of the door en safe with your key. The Breakfast costs €12,- and thats to expensive for so a simple Breakfast.

When I arrived it was pouring with rain, so I missed the hotel first time around, so according to my Garming I had to drive another 1,5 KM to get round to the hotel. Pleasant reception explained how to get to the parking garage with my motorbike. Room was ok, breakfast was a fast breakfast. Not to write home about. One thing did bother me , at the reception they gave me a streetmap of Metz, but the scale was so small I couldn't use it too well, ofcourse I went the long way round to the cathedral.

Everything was excellent apart from the signage to enter the car park, due to the one-way system you can't see the sign and so pass it and so have to go all around again. This would be an easy fix I'm sure, and didn't distract from a great stay. Driving a plug-in car it was great to see a charging point that was free to use. On entering the hotel the receptionist was welcoming and efficient, our room was high quality and with plenty of electrical outlets and other items that made our stay comfortable. The location is far enough out to be quiet but a short easy walk to the centre and all the sights. The quality of our afternoon meal and the breakfast were both very good as were all of the staff that we encountered. When visiting Metz I will definitely stay here again.

We went to Metz for 2 days and decided for the Mgallery Hotel. It was very well located next to a park in a historic environment. Definitely a very nice place. City center with a many restaurants, cafes and bars was just a 10 minute walk. Also the cathedral was just 15 minutes away. Staff was very friendly and rooms are nice and clean. Breakfast was very good with good choices.

Arrived early and was greeted by a lovely festive reception and staff who immediately offered to look after my baggage until a room was available. When check in came it was so easy, no problems at all and quickly off to a functional and well-equipped room. This is an old building but that is not a criticism, just context if you are expecting large rooms etc but if you want enough space, every amenity you would want for a couple of days and a cozy sanctuary at the end of the day this is a great location. It is across the street from the train station, easy to get to and easy to get to the center of the town and the attractions - it just felt like staying in a large home - nothing over-the-top but clean, well maintained and everything you would need, including friendly and helpful staff - I enjoyed my stay here.

We were stranded at the Metz Ville railway station today with our booked accommodation failing to email our accommodation address. By accident I stumbled across the Campanile Hotel, 3 minutes from the station. From the moment I walked in the staff were so helpful, kind and empathetic to our situation. They served us tea, allowed access to their Wifi and sitting area so we could try and resolve our situation. We couldn’t so booked a room- clean, comfortable beds, a lovely fresh room and bathroom; more than adequate for our needs. And a very reasonable price. But the staff were superb! Nothing was too much trouble- they tried to source tours and answered a multitude of questions. Special mention must be made of Fativa- an absolute gem! So kind, so caring and so patient. Her dinner recommendation was fabulous! Campanile Hotel saved our day!

The residence was easy to find and wasn’t far from the city centre, but was situated a stone’s throw from an extremely busy railway line and sidings. Checking-in was straightforward and the guy on Reception made a real effort to communicate in English. We paid for the room and for private underground parking @ 9 euros a night and we were pleasantly surprised to find how easy the access was to the car park. A word of caution though – we were in a long wheelbase Mercedes and we grounded on the ramp – could have been nasty if we had got more weight in the car. The car park had direct access to Reception and there were lifts to all floors. So far so good . On entry to the room we noticed immediately that there was a strong smell of damp and that it in no way resembled the photos on ***********. We passed through a miniscule kitchenette with a pedal bin backed by stained wallpaper, and into a bedroom so full of cobwebs that it was like a 1950’s horror film set. Spider webs in the corners, above the bed and at ceiling level everywhere. The main light shade was full of dead insects and one of the chairs was badly stained. Tops of the door frames were grimy and obviously hadn’t been cleaned this century. The main window had no security opening option so was impossible to have open without risking getting our throats cut whilst we slept. Being seasoned world travellers and familiar with second-class foreign accommodation we opted to make the most of it and chalk it down to experience, but our patience reached the limit when my wife had a quick shower and I followed to find that the water was stone-cold. Upon complaining to Reception we were told that ‘the rooms have individual water reservoirs’ and we ‘would have to wait two hours for the water to warm up.’ Unacceptable in 2022, as was the Receptionist’s suggestion that we could change rooms for an additional 100 euros. Faced with having to try to find alternative accommodation in Metz city centre at short notice during the Christmas Market period, we had little choice but to make the most of it. *********** were completely useless – said that they would speak to the hotel management but then came back to us saying that there was nothing that they could do. We stayed at the Best Western hotel for 1 night on our recent visit, and it was excellent. Below is my comprehensive review of the hotel. Good: - The superior room was spacious and comfortable. - The bathroom was clean and had a shower. The toilet was separate to the bathroom, which is unusual. - The breakfast had a good selection of food with eggs, bacon, cheeses, meats and croissants and assortments. - There were quite a few rapid chargers and slow chargers in the car park of the hotel, which was good. - The in-house restaurant was great and had a good manu for dinner. - Night/evening staff and restaurant colleagues are excellent and very helpful. - Large green area to walk dogs or go for a walk. Could be better: - The TV remote was not working even after we changed batteries. - No other shortcomings were noticed. Overall, it was an excellent stay and a great pitstop for our road trip.

C’est un hôtel tout neuf et très bien géré par une sympathique équipe de jeunes réceptionnistes très dévoués dont Rachid qui nous a très bien accueilli. La Réception est ouverte 24h/24. Les chambres sont spacieuses, propres et bien décorées. Le seul point à améliorer sont les serviettes de toilette en matière synthétique qui essuient très mal. Dommage: La fourniture des serviettes pure coton auraient amplement justifié notre notation de 5/ 5.
