It's a very simple self service Hotel in the City Centre. It looks a little bit like a Hospital. When we phoned, the person on the phone didn't speak English. Later the Woman of the reception spoke perfectly English. You can check-in until 8.00 pm. Later is possible, but you have to phone. Then they give you the codes of the door en safe with your key. The Breakfast costs €12,- and thats to expensive for so a simple Breakfast.

We stayed at the Best Western hotel for 1 night on our recent visit, and it was excellent. Below is my comprehensive review of the hotel. Good: - The superior room was spacious and comfortable. - The bathroom was clean and had a shower. The toilet was separate to the bathroom, which is unusual. - The breakfast had a good selection of food with eggs, bacon, cheeses, meats and croissants and assortments. - There were quite a few rapid chargers and slow chargers in the car park of the hotel, which was good. - The in-house restaurant was great and had a good manu for dinner. - Night/evening staff and restaurant colleagues are excellent and very helpful. - Large green area to walk dogs or go for a walk. Could be better: - The TV remote was not working even after we changed batteries. - No other shortcomings were noticed. Overall, it was an excellent stay and a great pitstop for our road trip.

Absolutely stunning hotel modern French design. Location even better. Superb stay with access to pretty much everything you want and desire. Our room was fabulous very good character and the pool very nice. Safe parking for our Motor Car with excellent members of staff to help you throughout. In the morning the breakfast service is again delicious and well supplied. The hotel is very ambient and offers selection and seclusion whilst dining. I really like this. Staff exceptional, very helpful and pleasant. Highly recommended especially for stop overs whilst travelling across a brilliant country.

JJanSchu7We went to Metz for 2 days and decided for the Mgallery Hotel. It was very well located next to a park in a historic environment. Definitely a very nice place. City center with a many restaurants, cafes and bars was just a 10 minute walk. Also the cathedral was just 15 minutes away. Staff was very friendly and rooms are nice and clean. Breakfast was very good with good choices.

When I arrived it was pouring with rain, so I missed the hotel first time around, so according to my Garming I had to drive another 1,5 KM to get round to the hotel. Pleasant reception explained how to get to the parking garage with my motorbike. Room was ok, breakfast was a fast breakfast. Not to write home about. One thing did bother me , at the reception they gave me a streetmap of Metz, but the scale was so small I couldn't use it too well, ofcourse I went the long way round to the cathedral.

The residence was easy to find and wasn’t far from the city centre, but was situated a stone’s throw from an extremely busy railway line and sidings. Checking-in was straightforward and the guy on Reception made a real effort to communicate in English. We paid for the room and for private underground parking @ 9 euros a night and we were pleasantly surprised to find how easy the access was to the car park. A word of caution though – we were in a long wheelbase Mercedes and we grounded on the ramp – could have been nasty if we had got more weight in the car. The car park had direct access to Reception and there were lifts to all floors. So far so good . On entry to the room we noticed immediately that there was a strong smell of damp and that it in no way resembled the photos on ***********. We passed through a miniscule kitchenette with a pedal bin backed by stained wallpaper, and into a bedroom so full of cobwebs that it was like a 1950’s horror film set. Spider webs in the corners, above the bed and at ceiling level everywhere. The main light shade was full of dead insects and one of the chairs was badly stained. Tops of the door frames were grimy and obviously hadn’t been cleaned this century. The main window had no security opening option so was impossible to have open without risking getting our throats cut whilst we slept. Being seasoned world travellers and familiar with second-class foreign accommodation we opted to make the most of it and chalk it down to experience, but our patience reached the limit when my wife had a quick shower and I followed to find that the water was stone-cold. Upon complaining to Reception we were told that ‘the rooms have individual water reservoirs’ and we ‘would have to wait two hours for the water to warm up.’ Unacceptable in 2022, as was the Receptionist’s suggestion that we could change rooms for an additional 100 euros. Faced with having to try to find alternative accommodation in Metz city centre at short notice during the Christmas Market period, we had little choice but to make the most of it. *********** were completely useless – said that they would speak to the hotel management but then came back to us saying that there was nothing that they could do. PPengguna TetamuThis is a lovely old hotel (above the main door in the stonework it says the royal hotel) an easy walk from the train station. Decor is lovely. There are extra sitting rooms downstairs and self serve tea and coffee is provided. Room was spacious for an Ibis, large bathroom, very comfortable beds and quiet. Breakfast was a bit chaotic, I don't think there were enough staff to cope with the number of guests, everything from food to cutlery kept running out. Loved the yoghurt and fruit but everything else was very carb heavy but that is probably my taste rather than French. My only problem was the house keeping lady. We had asked if we could stay an extra 30/60 minutes so we didnt have to hang around the train station and were told no problem the night before, yet at 1210 there was banging on the door and this angry lady was saying get out you leave, she would not listen to me, possibly a language issue but there was no mistaking the angry face. Maybe she should concentrate on the mouldy bathroom, unfilled soap containers and missing towels before she is rude to guests?

PPengguna TetamuWe booked for a double roome with 2 beds, it is a very small room (yes, I knew this in advance) but since we only stayed for 1 night only. that was fine.
If we have two big suitcases and we need to unfold both, we need to find our own arrangements. Anyhow, in general, the breakfast service was good! The reception desk was very kind and helpful.
The location of the hotel is not far from city center, located in a very quite place for living habitats I think. I give 4.5 / 5 points.

PPengguna TetamuPetit bémol pour le monsieur de l'accueil qui était fort sympathique, mais qui m'a demandé une pièce d'identité. Je lui ai donc donné mon permis de conduire délivré par l'état et fait donc office de pièce d'identité accepté en France à partir du moment où la photo sur la pièce est ressemblante à la personne.
Heureusement mon épouse avait la sienne, sinon il nous aurait pas accepté.
Après recherche ses explications étaient complètement fausse.
Sinon le reste bien

Located in the middle of an Industrial estate surrounded by burnt out cars and old dirty mattresses dumped in the carpark down the side of the hotel. Hotel bathroom/shower was dirty, other hotel guests used my car as a table, placing their drinks on the bonnet as well as their handbags and phones. Another group of teens attacked my car by throwing shoes at it. We didn’t feel safe and had to leave around 11pm/1am. I would never recommend this hotel and would not use an Ibis budget again. The staff at night were constantly on their mobile phone and were not interested in listening to our complaints. Post our return home the hotel were not interested in listening to our complaints, the staff lied and said we hadn’t complained at the time so they were not willing to anything re a refund and put the phone down on me. Disgusting behaviour from a big hotel chain. 1 start is not a low enough rating. This is the only hotel I have ever given a 1 start in my 60+ reviews on trip advisor

This was fine, clean and civil with a decent breakfast. Luxury, it was not but good value and well-situated it was. It has limited parking but there is inexpensive on-street parking available close-by. It's in the city centre, with the positives and negatives of that situation, on the whole positive.
