Overall, the location is nice (walked around as a solo woman and felt fine), there are plenty of restaurants nearby and a great supermarket right across the street, but the hotel has some basic issues that could easily be resolved, but they don't bother. I know this because I was also here last year, and there were similar issues. I sent this as an email to Hyatt, but since they never replied, I'm posting it here as a review - I’m currently staying at the Hyatt Regency Mexico City Insurgentes, and there have been a few disappointing issues that have come up during my stay. Photos attached for reference. 1) Check-in - I asked to add my Hyatt number to my stay, and the young man working the desk did not seem to know what that was, or how to do that (even though I asked in both English and Spanish). He had to ask one of his colleagues, and I still do not know that he properly added my Hyatt rewards number to the account. 2) Room was not locked - when I got up to my room, the lock had been opened to prop the door open. I did not know why I would not need to use a key to open the door. However, I was tired enough that I didn’t care, but it felt weird. 3) Bathroom door does not close - the sliding door to the hotel room bathroom gets caught on the floor. You can see scratch marks in the floor from when people have tried to close the door. 4) Room quality - The floor has been damaged, and there is a spot in the floor that crunches loudly if you step on it, and is uneven. I have to leave something on it so I avoid tripping on it. 5) Poor service - there was not a “Do not disturb” sign in my room, so I called to ask for one. It did not arrive, so I went downstairs to get one in person, and they said they did not have them at their desk, but would send one up. By the next morning, the sign still had not arrived. I called to ask for a third time, and a sign was finally on my door by the time I returned from work. 6) “Amenities” that do not exist - a card in the room advertises that you can ask to have a yoga mat brought to your room. When I called to ask for one, the front desk said that they do not provide yoga mats for rooms; they are only in the gym. 7) Poor quality gym - the floor in the gym is dirty and had clumps of hair on it. There was only ONE single towel in the gym, and a co-worker confirmed that she had called the day before to request more towels in the gym. The SINGLE yoga mat in the gym was so dirty and gross, that even after I tried to clean it, I did not feel comfortable using it.
