Balneario de Mondariz

Used the spa . Very a**ospheric. Rather confusing as to whether this spa across the road is part of tge hotel or not. Town very pretty. Rated in an international travel magazine as the best in Spain.

The whole experience was really pretty disappointing, and even more so when we found out that the hotel already knows that the problems that happened for us exist, and are trying to either sell the hotel or find funding to do the necessary repairs. At the same time the system and the hotel are still advertising and pricing as a four-star hotel, which is not even close to accurate. This is not ok. I would normally give 1 star for a review, but the staff were kind and hard working people and so I give 2 stars. I understand the hotel has a lot of history and importance to the community, but to advertise as a four-star hotel means that there is a level of attention to detail and quality of service that is commensurate with the price that one pays in order to go to a 4 star hotel. My wife had planned a special day trip to spend the night at the hotel and receive spa services for our ninth wedding anniversary. She clearly communicated this to the staff and to the hotel and actually booked the best suite available at the hotel. It was supposed to be a two-story room with incredible views and high-level accommodations. The pictures on the site are not accurate. (We were greeted at the desk by kind people and I will also be clear that everyone who works there was quite kind and doing the best they could under difficult circumstances.) That being said, after we checked in no one came to help us move our bags from the front desk all the way across the hotel to an elevator, and then up a large spiral staircase to a suite that look to be about 50 years old. The furniture is old and the room has no high-end amenities and it's laid out in a very strange fashion and in fact was so different that we decided it was not something that we wanted and so we asked to be moved to a junior suite. That is where the problems began. The junior suite, smaller and a little bit more accessible, made absolutely no sense in terms of design layout and the bathroom wasn't very well designed. When you enter the the small foyer entrance, if you can call that, it is comprised of an old square dining room table with four chairs and a couch looks to be about 50 years old. There is no artwork on the walls and it looks like something out of a prison or a strange waiting room? The bathroom is a mess. There is a large sunken tub, but it is difficult to get in and out of and quite slippery and no real way of easily doing that. Also the rack that is used to dry towels and bathing suits is in an awkward place in the shower and when I needed to put my head on the wall just to turn around I burnt my hand on the rack. We then went down to what would be called the "spa". To call this a "spa" is an exaggeration in the highest degree. The paint is peeling and the walls have mold and it just looks really old and funky. When I spoke to the front desk about this later they said they knew about it and they were sad because they knew the hotel needs quite a bit of work, but they don't have the r

My husband and I where seeking thermal experiences in Galicia. As per the list of places to visit we choose this "iconic" place. The experience was so disappointing and frustrating to a pint in which we didn't provide our feedback in person , as we are sure that what I'm about to mention is visible to managers and stakeholders of this property. The fact that the place is old shouldn't mean that the place is neglected and abandoned. The are locations within the property that could be the perfect scenario for a horror movie. Buffet poor quality of food and variety. Both dinner and breakfast Air conditioning in our room was not working all night and it was unbelievably hot The bathroom gives a sense of being in a asylum. By coincidence we find out that we were entitled to experience the Celta water journey. Unfortunately this was also disappointing. Rust , broken tiles, filth and lack of care was visible. There was only one practitioner providing the Celta Journey which was overwhelming for her , however she had the best attitude at all times. Spa trea**ents the worse part of all. Trea**ent beds narrow and old , instead of bed sheets they use paper towels ( lack of inves**ent) , all the trea**ent rooms in the water area full of rust and maintenance. The lymphatic massage was below expectations. Customers look to visit this facilities to feel renovated and reload energy. This facility makes you feel sick and sad. Is a real shame that a magestic location like this lacks of the proper maintenance and inves**ent from the stakeholders.

En nuestra reciente estancia tuvimos una gran decepción por la falta de mantenimiento de las instalaciones tanto las del hotel como las del Palacio del Agua. Habíamos estado un par de veces hace años cuando las estrellas se correspondían con la categoría del hotel. Ahora le sobra una. El entorno es precioso pero ha perdido mucha calidad por la mencionada falta de mantenimiento (pintura desconchada, papel de las paredes rasgado, baldosas rotas, humedad ...) El buffet ha bajado también mucho la calidad. Unicamente los precios se corresponden con las estrellas del hotel.

Es un lugar de relax excelente. Todas las estancias son amplias y cómodas. El Palacio del Agua es gigante y con diversidad de formas de disfrutar del agua; lo mejor para mí: la espiral central, donde el agua te empuja rápido, las camas de agua y la "charca" al aire libre. El Circuito Celta puede valer la pena por el chorro manual de agua con una manguera a tu espalda y piernas y la charca exterior. El resto es, para mí, muy muy lento. El restaurante de la planta 0 (donde se desayuna) vale mucho la pena; no tanto el restaurante italiano, donde las pizzas de base fina y crujiente están rikas, pero el tiempo de espera es eterno...Me encantó oír tocar el piano mientras jugábamos a juegos de mesa. El desayuno es variado, está bastante bien. La habitación es antigua, pero bien amplia y estaba limpia. Hay una zona para niños, con esterillas, tele y mesa para pintar. La monitora está pendiente de ellos. Pero un niño de más de 8 años no encuentra un espacio muy divertido allí. Las fotos de la zona Kids magnifican el lugar y luego te llevas una decepción (pequeña). Lo increíble de Mondariz es su historia, sus alrededores y la tranquilidad. Vale mucho la pena acerc**** al castillo de Sobroso, al castro de Troña, a la pena dos Namorados y dar un paseo por el río Tea (en esta época muy complicado pues está todo encharcado, así que llevar botas goretex).

Primera vez en un balneario y la verdad que genial. Nos hizo muy mal tiempo pero no te aburres. Buena comida buena limpieza y el servicio fantástico. Volveremos a repetir. Hay servicio para qué mientras los padres estan en el circuito celta estén entretenidos con una cuidadora.

En lugar de Balneario de Mondariz se podría llamar "Aquapark de Mondariz" perfectamente. Si quieres ir de relax, este no es tu lugar. El palacio del agua se compone de una piscina mayormente ocupada por niños. Los niños obviamente hacen ruido y debido a la estructura y material del recinto hay un eco terrible. Digo Aquapark porque los niños van preparados como tal: manguitos, flotadores y gafas de bucear. Sólo faltan los toboganes. El aforo permitido es demasiado en mi opinión. No hay chorros para todos y al final tienes que estar en el medio de la piscina. La temperatura del agua es baja a mi modo de ver. Además de esta piscina principal hay una charca fuera con agua templada en la que te acabas quedando helado, un jacuzzi frío y otro vacío roto fuera de servicio. Las saunas y las tumbonas calientes son lo único que se salva. Con el precio que tiene la entrada, esto no se debería de permitir. Del circuito celta no puedo decir nada porque no lo probamos. La habitación estaba limpia pero tanto esta como el baño son antiguos. El desayuno estaba bien de variedad y calidad, pero tienen la zona del buffet en el medio del comedor y está todo el mundo levantándose constantemente y pasando entre las mesas. De nuevo vuelve a ser una guardería: los niños se levantan constantemente a coger comida gritando y correteando. En la zona es difícil aparcar y el parking del balneario cuesta 12 euros.

Piscinas bien lo que no nos gusto nada fue la zona de vestuarios al ser mixta tiene poca intimidad y si a eso le juntas el chico de camiseta verde que es el que anda vigilando por allí una cosa eske este en las piscinas vigilando que no pase nada ahora otra muy distinta eske este metido en los vestuarios dond se cambian las mujeres y llamando la atención si tardamos o no cuando llevábamos un minusvalía y había que cambiarla con el consiguiente tiempo que lleva arreglarla a ella y luego a una misma lo peor sin duda el monitor hemos mandado carta a consumo y ala gerencia del hotel un trato pésimo no volveremos.y bueno comentarles que por 26 euros que vale la entrada estaría bien que facilitasen toallas como hazen en todos lados un balneario anticuado en cuanto al servicio de personal PESIMO
