This is a very fine motel - it provides a spotless room, free parking, and no pet fee - for a very reasonable price. Based on this great first experience, I will always try to find a Red Roof Inn when I am on the road.

We stayed at Wave Street Inn for a few nights in mid/late June. Upon arrival we encountered what was truly a minor room issue, but the way it was handled by the front desk was incredibly unprofessional, humiliating, and inexcusable, to the point that we asked if we could check out of this motel early, without a penalty (and the only reason for the missing 5th stars). Jon came to our rescue, and went so above and beyond to make things right for us. He gave us a new room (fresh start) and even checked up on us the next day. His genuine concern, professionalism, and friendliness was heartwarming. Christine, too, was helpful to us, giving us great advice about things to do in the area, and Carol was very warm and welcoming when we made our reservations. These are the people (especially Jon) who would make us come back to Wave Street Inn again and again. As for the Inn, it's a reminiscent of a mid-century motel, a bit dated but with tons of character, comfy bed with nice linens, and super strong water pressure in the shower. And nice and clean. If I had one wish: that the motel provided conditioner along with the shampoo. The conditioning shampoo doesn't really work; I thought that the hand lotion was the conditioner and used that the first night. A fun story to tell, anyway! One more huge positive... the location (fantastic) and the AMAZING Wave Street Cafe across the street. Best breakfast ever!

Stayed here week of 5/12-5/17. The location is awesome- walking distance to shops, restaurants, beach. Gorgeous views! Now onto the hotel. Modern and clean lobby. Above average tasting free breakfast. 24/7 free coffee and tea in lobby. Water bottle filling station in lobby. This is a unique Holiday Inn express- motel style layout. You will be exposed to the outdoors getting from lobby to your room. And apparently Northern California is still cold (in May)! The room we got was spacious, updated, clean. However the windows are old and drafty blew in cold air mornings, thankfully the heat turned on. every noise from outside -cars on the street and fellow hotel guests could be heard inside (yes even at 3am). New windows and better sound proofing/insulation needed. Overall it was a good stay due to aforementioned positives. However due to the negatives probably would not pick this hotel for more than 1-2 night stay.

We ended up here last minute due to the excessive hot weather and my ac not working properly. Our room was clean it just lacks complementary shampoo and conditioner thankfully I packed some. There was no hair dryer :( which was a bummer. The Ac though worked 100%! There was parking available but the spaces are a little tight. This ain’t a luxury location but it’s a good spot to sleep for the night. I would have liked another blanket lol but it’s ok I survived! There was an old lady sitting smoking on the stairs which I found interesting though because they told me there was no smoking allowed. The old lady wouldn’t move for us to go down the stairs so we had to kind of forcefully go over her bumping into her smh! Overall it’s an ok spot!

So this is one of those small Indian places where the owner has renovated an old nasty motel. I'm pretty sure all of the photos here are from before the remodel. The remodeling work is nothing spectacular, but it's a whole new color scheme and surfaces are clean and in very good shape. Unfortunately this place still has pretty small rooms. The parking lot is a little awkward and there are now outside areas at all to enjoy -- not even a park bench. The first time I stayed I was pleasantly suprised - really liked the brand-new bathroom finishes and fridge....especially for the price ! Second time I was really disappointed in a less-than-adequate bathroom cleaning job and maybe not the best bedding. So...I dunno...overall, they deserve way way more than the two stars they're showing here. I wouldn't take a date or family here, but for the low-budget traveler, it's ok for a short stay. Close walk to a 7-11 and a few other restaurants. NOT a close walk to beach or anything else. I'm gonna give this an extra star in order to off-set the out-dated and unfair previous reviews.
