Tip-1 - when you check-in you are given a card telling you the sunset time and I suggest, if the weather is fine-&-clear, you absorb the great view as the sun sets behind the mountain rage. Tip-2 - pour yourself a glass of red wine, get a plate with some nibbles and head to the roof and check-out the view. Tip-3 - don't be in a hurry at dinner, savor the food, wash it down with a nice wine (it took my wife and I 2.5-hours to make our way through the menu). Tip-4 - have your breakfast in your room. Tip-5 - bring some cycling gear and take advantage of the free cycles and head-off over the Biwako-ohashi (bridge) and check-out the view from the top.
