Ulasan Grand Daqiao Hotel

Facilities: This is an established four-star hotel. I stayed here two years ago when I visited Nanjing and had a good experience, so I booked it again this time. The front desk upgraded me to an executive room. The bathroom is quite spacious, and there's a small walk-in closet, which is a nice touch. Hygiene: The hotel's hygiene is good. Environment: The hotel environment is excellent, and the room has good natural light. You can directly overlook the Nanjing skyline from the window. However, the soundproofing could use some improvement; it might affect light sleepers like me, requiring earplugs to fall asleep. Service: From the front desk to the restaurant staff and housekeeping, everyone's attitude was excellent. They greeted guests warmly every time. The breakfast was also good, offering everything you'd expect.

My relatives came to Nanjing for business and their first choice was the Daqiao Hotel. It's near the Daqiao Bridge, so the location and transportation are very convenient. My relatives said it was pretty good, haha! So, Daqiao Hotel is quite good.

The room was spacious and bright, offering a panoramic river view with a wide vista. The breakfast quality was also quite good. The decor beautifully blends classical and modern styles. I would definitely consider staying here again next time.

The Jiangsu Hotel, with its 79-year history, is a fine establishment. The only minor drawback is the ongoing subway construction nearby, which makes getting around a bit inconvenient. However, it's an excellent choice for guests traveling by car, as it boasts a massive parking lot.

Here's my review: **Facilities:** The shower drain was completely clogged; every time I showered, the water would pool up and take ages to drain, sometimes half a day. The sink stopper was also broken/stuck, so I had to manually remove the drain plug. The lighting in the entire room was incredibly dim, nothing like the photos. It put me in a bad mood as soon as I checked in. To top it off, the central air conditioning kept making strange noises all night. **Environment:** There's subway construction right outside the hotel, which made transportation very inconvenient. For proper meals, we had to leave the hotel and go next door. **Service:** This place claims to be a four-star hotel, but they were even stingy with bottled water. The two complimentary bottles in the room weren't enough, so I went down to the front desk to ask for more. A man standing nearby, who looked like a manager, gave me a look as if I owed him a fortune. He sternly asked how many people were in my room, then reluctantly told the front desk to get two more bottles. And get this – the day before, I had specifically requested the front desk to have four bottles placed in the room, but this was completely ignored. Is this really the service you'd expect from a four-star hotel? It's worse than a roadside motel! Furthermore, I used a room upgrade offered by Ctrip, and all I got was a higher floor room that was just as small, and a poorly laid out corner room. Honestly, not a single aspect of the service was satisfactory.

The hotel's location is very convenient for getting around, and it's not far from Xinjiekou. The breakfast wontons were delicious. On a hot day, the staff at the front desk even thoughtfully provided us with two small fans. Their service was truly warm and attentive.

Just a heads-up for drivers: I completely forgot about the rush hour traffic restrictions for non-local vehicles crossing the Yangtze River and got hit with a 100 RMB fine on the way, haha.
