We love this place. We’ve stayed multiple times over the last several years. Love the neighborhood—full of NYU and Cooper-Union students and coffee shops and restaurants, a 24-hour CVS, 24-hour grocery nearby, and a 24-hour pizza/deli on the ground floor of the hotel. Easy walking to Washington Square, West Village, East Village, SoHo, Little Italy, Chinatown. Love the easy access to the 6, R, and W trains. Yes, there are no elevators. And the heat this time was a single, large, electric space heater, but it was sufficient. The hot water takes a long time to come. It’s old. But, the mattress was excellent, the place was clean, the WiFi was fine (we weren’t trying to stream things)—and you absolutely can’t beat the price. The standard rooms are small, but in March 2023, we had a “suite”—which was basically 2 connected rooms with 2 baths (!) for $140 a night, including tax! Cash only. We were in room 26, which is on what they call the 2d floor; I’d call it the 3d. The Front Desk is on what I’d call the 2d floor. There is no lobby. And the staff are nice and helpful. Highly recommended, if you can deal with the lack of elevators.

Our stay at the Ludlow Hotel was absolutely fantastic. The rooms are spacious, well appointed, very clean and we had fantastic views to the south and west.The bed was super comfortable too. We ate at the Ludlow’s restaurant “Dirty French” and enjoyed a delicious meal and excellent service. Well positioned on the lower East side, the Ludlow is surrounded by some great bars, restaurants and delicatessens, close to the subway and buses as well as The Tenements Museum, the financial district around Wall st and a stone’s throw from Chinatown. The staff were friendly, efficient, professional and ever helpful. There is ample space in the lounge on the ground floor to relax or meet friends/colleagues and the rooftop patio was a lovely spot with expansive views to enjoy a takeout lunch from Katz’s or Russ and Daughters Delicatessen just down the road. I heartily recommend The Ludlow Hotel as a great place to stay and will be staying there whenever I’m in NYC in future.

I had booked a corner king and upon arrival there was a stain on the carpet and asked to be moved to a clean room, which they did immediately and got a better view. The experience manager Josh was very welcoming and informed me about the different types of corner Kings so that I could choose the one I preferred. When I returned for a second stay a few days later he offered me some thoughtful amenities and the front of house staff remembered me by name which was a nice touch. Overall, great location , attentive service, rooms can do with a bit of refreshing but would definitely stay either here or at the Highline Standard again.

Attractive rooms in need of maintenance. Bed was clean and comfortable. Upper level corner room was very noisy. Bare bones staff. Room phone had no way to call the front desk, housekeeping, etc. We had to call the hotel main # from our cell phones to get an extra blanket. The second floor ”lobby” was deserted. Chipped floor tiles, broken shower door, slow draining sink and toilet ran throughout my stay. Based on the limited staff i encountered, i didn't bother trying to contact ”housekeeping” or maintenance because I assumed they were aware of the problems and didn't have the staff available to help me out. No amenities to speak of. They offered a gym, coffee/pastries in the morning and wine for an hour in the afternoon. Coffee was cold, no attendant... No water offered... The website shows an adjacent cafe which is closed.. Scaffolding at the entrance so it is barely visible unless you know exactly what you're looking for. i had an upper floor room and felt as though i was staying on level 2 of Bourbon street in Nola. Noise all night. The people in room above me were up late and early. Sounded like a zumba class at 6 am sunday. Moving furniture around throughout the night. I chose it because of its proximity to the places i needed to visit on my trip.
