Premier Inn Newcastle City Centre The Gate

Excellent accommodation! Especially with a short minute walk to St James's Park. This was my 3rd time travelling to Newcastle and I've stayed with the Premier Inn all 3 times

It was a pleasant stay, and breakfast was good.

Best place to stay as it is just right at the city centre.you can reach the shops in just few steps.room is clean.

It was a good stay. Easy access to the town and university. Satisfied

Check in was friendly however that is the only positive I can say. The room was filthy, dust everywhere, stains on the wall, previous guests throat sweets left on the floor, I was actually worried to walk around barefoot. The hallways were also dirty with dust and paint chips everywhere. This hotel is in need of an urgent upgrade, it could be great due to it's location!

Check in was quick and easy. Room was very spacious and staff very friendly overall Sadly the downside was that the Room was serviced only once over 4 nights despite requests which was disappointing. Had to keep asking for fresh towels. Room became messy, bins overflowing etc

Clean, tidy and modernised rooms. Location very central and also near St.James Park. 2min walk from main nightlife areas. The bar downstairs was really good, friendly staff, 2for1 on cocktails from 4pm. Even put up with us ordering 16 cocktails at a time lol.

Arrived at the hotel room was like a hike from Reception. Once in the room we found the bed sheets full of holes, carpets full of stains. A very very strong smell of bleach. Called reception and was told there was no chance of an upgrade as it’s full. Noticed there was only one towel in room. Rang reception again to be told I had to hike back to reception if I wanted a towel. On way out for evening asked if a towel could be put in room as there was only one. Reply was we could pick one up when we get back. Got back to room and wanted a noodle bowl so rang reception for a fork. Reply we don’t do room service I would have to come to the bar. Explained I had just got out of shower. Reply we don’t do room Service I would have to come to bar There was 3 members of staff sat on reception doing naff all surely one could have brought a towel and or a fork. Everything premier but the price? Come on it’s like staying in a youth hostel. Shocking what a joke

bed smelled a bit strange but not awful, extra pillows underneath clean bathroom, two single beds joined to form a double which was cool but could feel where it joined. long corridor maze to get to where we were sleeping but didnt get too drunk so was okay haha.
