Balavil Hotel

The hotel was the perfect get away for a couples weekend. The location is perfect for all local amenities and easy travel to Aviemore and Inverness, a great base for a highland retreat. The food was exceptional and the staff were all very nice and helpful. The facilities were great and the swimming pool has recently been refurbished, it was beautiful. The bar area with open fire was very cosy and had a huge selection of drinks including local whiskey. We will definitely come back here. Thanks for a great stay

Homely Well Run hotel, excellent food, terrific staff. The team led by James, including Isla, David, Mark, and young Logan were very professional and friendly. The room whilst small, was more than adequate, and it had a new walk in shower in the en-suite.We had a great time, and I would definitely recommend this wee hotel.

Second time I've stayed here and as good as the first time. Despite fake leather in unpromising looking foyer the rooms are very modern, clean and quite stylish. Staff are what make it stand out - always very helpful and dinner and breakfast are decent. For the price, it's excellent.

What a genuinely wonderful experience! The family/team at Balavil is the perfect example of what a hotel stay should be - they were kind, gracious, welcoming, and helpful. We immediately felt comfortable at the hotel and continued to throughout our stay. I wish all hotels would have staff like theirs! We stayed two nights and dined at the restaurant for both of them. The food was excellent - fresh, home cooked, and delicious. Their daily specials were wonderful and really exemplified the local vibe and foods. Breakfast was a great selection of buffet items and the staff were even kind enough to offer to cook me vegetarian sausages, as I can't eat meat. I truly cannot say enough wonderful things about this hotel and the family that runs it. Newtownmore was a perfect stop between Edinburgh and Isle of Skye and really gave us a few days to comfortably enjoy the Highlands without the hustle of the cities. I HIGHLY recommend this hotel and area.

Amazing stay at Balavil Hotel. Great night's sleep, staff are lovely, dressed smartly and helpful. Room was lovely especially the shower room. Had a lovely swim in the pool. All areas of the hotel were clean. Will definitely stay again. Breakfast was excellent!Great choice and cooked breakfast was generous size and delicious.

Went with a coach party.Found the checkin service very effecient and your cases were taken to the room We were at the front of the hotel room was comfortable but slightly dated. although there were signs that sone work had started ie new carpet and wardrobe It did need a blind in the bathroom and somewhere to hang your clothes when showering.There was no blind in the bedroom which was a bit off putting having to keep drawing the curtains when changing making the room very dark even with the lights on.Downstairs was very nice a large spacious dining room good choice of food for the evening meal well cooked and presented very very efficient staff pleasant always smiling the best I have seen outside London they were well trained.There was a very well stocked bar good variety of Gin and Whiskey and for two nights we had some outstanding entertainment. Breakfast was very nice buffet style hot food and continental cold just could have done with a selection of meats/cheeses for the overseas guests tea/coffee and toast were served to you There was nothing you could complain about this hotel.Goodd old fashioned service where the customer is valued and appreciated.Would highly recommend
