Royal Hôtel

Quirky little hotel, great location. Bed was very comfortable, room was quiet, spacious bathroom, really nice shower, very clean and AC was great. Staff is friendly and helpful. Room was a little small and no elevator, but we had a very nice stay.

The hotel is ideally located in Nimes, at walking distance from most Roman artifacts and Jardins de la Fontaine. The parking is also ideally located, with the lift popping out just in front of the hotel. However, the hotel itself is so-so, akin to a 2* hotel. The rooms are very small, and do not include coffee or tea, and water bottles must be asked at the reception. We were given a "car park" free pass to exit, but it did not work (so had to pay the full overnight price of about EUR 25/day).

Good hotel for our overnight visit to Nimes. On arrival the receptionist was really friendly, on check out the receptionist on duty was perhaps not so! Never the less, I loved the funkiness and arty vibe of this hotel. The rooms were comfortable and had all that you required for an overnight stay. The location was excellent!!!

Such a marvelous place. Friendly staff, delicious breakfast, central (place d’assas and the historical city centre) but No street noise.Interior decoration reflects Spanish influences in this region. A 15 m walk from railway station, parking for those traveling by car. Highly recommendable!

I canceled one of our rooms at this hotel (on time within the contractual period) and the hotel refused to refund me the money I paid in advance (over $800). The room we used felt like a hostel, the wifi did not work.

A 3* hotel, it has more highs than lows. Its location is great, within a stone’s throw of La Maison Carree re the Roman imperial cult, the arena/amphitheater within 10M as well. The bathroom has a nice shower, some work needed to access the hand held nozzle. There are squeeze bottles in the bathroom but at least the one in the shower is a heavenly clove/orange scent. The wifi was strong and password protected. Some of the artwork around the hotel was avant garde, Dali and the Rolling Stones looking back at you in some pieces. Staff was pleasant and helpful from check in through breakfast. While my room had a balcony [#5], the view of the nearby square was largely blocked with trees. The rooms operate on a digital code basis. Pay close attention to the procedure to get in at night on a separate piece of paper you are given. We had to call a number to get access to the hotel! That part was our fault. The finish of the room with plaster showing at the corners is poor. I would happily have exchanged the luggage rack, the massive mirror and wardrobe for coffee making facilities. Tried to nail a beetle going across the floor but I missed. Good luck trying to reach the toilet paper dispenser while sitting on the toilet. The breakfast was delivered with your choices of beverages. It was various breads, jams, yogurt, granola and a fruit, all good. That there is no elevator may be an issue for some. Overall the place is decent and well situated for a walking tour of Nimes.
