Had Sunday lunch and was not disappointed. Started with garlic mushrooms which was not overpowering and very well presented. Then followed with Pembrokeshire topside of beef with all the trimmings (roast potatoes, a herby mashed potato, parsnips, broccoli and cauliflower cheese, mashed swede, peas and carrots, an absolutely huge Yorkshire pudding and lashings of gravy) all washed down with a delicious pint of Newgale Ale. My first impression when the dishes (yes! dishes) arrived was that this was truly amazing. Within seconds I revised this to actually this is outstandingly amazing and then told my family that the food, presentation and servings were worthy of a far better description. It was an absolutely fabulous experience and this was being echoed by the other families receiving their meals. The only downside is that by writing this review I’m sure that it will become more difficult for me to secure a table in the future! I was so full I couldn’t manage pudding, however, I took advantage of their takeaway service and had the chef’s special, a deliciously rich chocolate torte, for tea that evening! Sundays will never be the same! The friendly atmosphere created by all the staff and chefs, who took the time to come and speak to their guests added to a most pleasant lunchtime experience.
