Minus: When we arrived we noticed that many of the light bulbs in the room did not work. In my friend's room, one of the bedside lamps did not work. In my room, some of the light bulbs in the ceiling lamp did not work. One of the bedside lamps also didn't work in my room, when the receptionist tried to change the bulb it was the lamp itself that didn't work. In my friend's room they refilled toiletries, in my room they forgot. The hotel restaurant was very expensive for what you get, don't go there if you are really hungry after a long day exploring Hardanger! Seemed to me like they were trying to be a Michelin star restaurant. Also when paying, the waiter joked about the price, as if we were meant to be ripped off. In such a historic hotel, I would much prefer traditional Norwegian food. Plus: The hotel staff did their best, they apologized for the lighting situation. Great location and free parking. Loved the design in the old part, we got a bit of a Hotel Bristol Oslo vibe from it. Great breakfast in a beautiful breakfast room with a nice view, loved the smoothies. Both our rooms had a nice terrace with a view of the fjord. Magical to wake up in the morning and watch the sunrise from bed. Great shower. Coffee machine, minibar and bathrobe in the room. Although it's old, the soundproofing was very good, did not hear anything from the neighbors. Nice park areas by the hotel, and probably nicer in the summer. My rating is minus the restaurant experience in the evening.
