poor water pressure in shower and pillows not up to standard. when travelling and you get to your room a nice warm shower goes down well one would hope. shower was warm, pressure was not there one had to dance around shower rose verry disappointing. pillows there are pillow and there are pillows this rooms pillows didnot make the cut next time i will bring my own.

This lovely place is indeed a hidden gem! Staff was wonderful at all times! No elevators, but there are strong staff members to carry your luggage up if you are off ground-level. Great little breakfast restaurant next door. Beautiful pool, garden and ”back yard” for picnicing or sunbathing.

Our “Ocean Corner Suite” at the Ardo was without doubt one of the best accommodation packages that we have ever had the privilege of staying in. The room and views were exceptional. The staff were amazing and were happy and knowledgeable in all our conversations. The “Roof Top Bar” is highly recommended at sunset with the food being amazing. The dinner that we had at”Terasu” was an amazing experience. Overall the best stay that we have had anywhere in Australia. Highly recommended, we will be back.

I haven't had much experience at all in backpackers but I was impressed with the Civic Guesthouse. The staff have mostly been very friendly, accomodating and helpful, and the general atmosphere really positive and safe which is awesome. They have a good cleaning routine so the place is in good condition and maintained really well. It's in a great location and has all the amenities/facilities you need. Noise management is handled really well with a nighttime quiet rule. One negative comment I will make is that there is not really a system at all for recyclable items. There is just one bin for recyclables such as drinks cans but aside from that all waste goes into the general bins/landfill and this is pretty soul-crushing since there are so many people coming and going and therefore so much waste disposed of in this way. It would be great to have an improved system for this to sort waste and educate people in the process to be aware of where they are getting rid of their waste. Otherwise, thank you Civic for a great backpacking experience!

We spent two nights at the Palmer Collective as we drove to Townsville for the Cowboys v West Tigers game. The room was excellent and had everything required for a comfortable stay. The shower was great and air con worked as it should. The Palmer also has a laundry with washing and drying facilities, both machines take $1 and $2 coins. There are heaps of things to do in the South Townsville area with bars and restaurants and a short walk has you in the CBD. There is limited parking on site for such a large motel, however there is parking across the road. We would fully recommend this motel.

Because of our flight’s late arrival, we chose this hotel for its 24-hour reception and good location on the Palmer St restaurant *****, a short walk from the town centre. Staff were welcoming, friendly and helpful. Underground parking is free but not secured. The buffet breakfast was delicious. Our room was spacious, with efficient air con, comfortable beds, two good chairs, hospitality tray and frig, no minibar and no ice cube tray. The two bottles of water delivered each day were very welcome. The bathroom, with walk-in shower, worked well but was a tad shabby. The bedroom lighting was excessively 1980s dim. We needed a torch to see the aircon control panel. We would return and recommend, but bring a torch.

My son, Nick who is a VM at Boatys Airlie Beach booked us to stay at Nomads hostel for a couple of nights, my daughter and I stayed in a lovely place right on the seafront, it was comfortable and had a fridge, and 2 towels with complimentary soap, the toilets and showers were just down from where we were sleeping, it had breakfast at the island bar just a short 2-minute walk from there 8 am til 10.30 am and then lunch from 12 pm till 8 pm, we were made to feel welcome and to stay on such a beautiful Island as well made my stay perfect, highly recommend staying at Nomads hostel.

Anthony & Michelle were the best hosts, nothing was to much trouble, excellent service. My husband Shane & I have been to Waters Edge for the last 6 years with friends. Excellent rooms, close to everything. Why go anywhere else. All of us have booked for August 2024. Thanks again Heather, Shane and friends.

PPengguna TetamuWell located hotel on the beachfront though a bit of a walk to the city centre (The Strand has lots of places to eat so this is not a major issue). The pool was large enough and clean. The whole place would benefit greatly from a refresh - paint, furniture, settings etc. in my opinion this could give it a 4 star rating but due to this I only rate this with 3 stars. Staff were efficient if not exactly friendly. Beds pretty soft (which kills my back).

PPengguna TetamuThis place unfortunately looks nothing whatsoever like the photos advertised. I chose it because it was cheap, but the photos showed a modern bathroom and reasonably looking rooms with sinks, kitchenette etc. A modern bathroom is important to me as a lady traveling. I sure did not get this! The room was something out of the 70's with no modernisation. The shower curtain rail was about to fall down, the beds were so old they had big sags in them, the was only a bowl left to wash up in, not one piece of dinner set matched, the decor was so outdated with old tiles in the bathroom and rusted up loover windows, florescent lights (broken outside my unit where I wanted it for safety), an old in the window air-condition unit that worked for one day and rattled so badly I had to get up and turn it off, after this I couldn't even get it to work, an old rusted fan that was probably my saviour in a hot climate, no hand soap supplied and the beds were not remade after 3 days as advertised. From here it gets worse - at 12 midnight I was awoken by yelling and bashing buy a guy trying to get into my unit. I got up to go to the loo and turned the light on - the looser windows would not work as rusted up, and the next thing he was trying to climb in my toilet window. Being on my own I was terrified and did not sleep the rest of my stay, it was a horrific experience. On a plus the staff followed up on what happened, apologising and were very empathetic to my ordeal.
