Stella Maris

The hotel was very quaint and beautifully arranged, in a gorgeous setting on the beach front. The food was great and staff are really friendly. Service could be slow at times and sometimes our food order was forgotten about but if we raised the issue it was generally dealt with swiftly.

Beautiful building in a gorgeous location by the beach. The good: Nice room and very nice toiletries Good breakfast food selection Nice grounds and views THE VERY BAD: Zero ambience despite the beauty of the place. Staff look miserable and are the most incompetent we ever experienced, anywhere we have been, particularly the restaurant waiters, Manuel from Faulty Towers would look competent next to them. Dinner options limited, small portions, big prices, not much taste, again you were lucky if you got served at all or if what you ordered ever came! Overpriced overall for what they offer, we pay for service in a hotel, not just the beauty of the place! Management needs to get working and sort it out! Not returning!!

Super service throughout our stay. Serena and Marco on the front desk looked after us all week, endlessly patient and always helpful. The room was 10/10, great balcony, lovely views and good quality. The hotel has character and is also tasteful. The staff in the restaurant and bar were on the whole great; no complaints. The pool, grounds and beach, perfection. Thank you for a lovely week. We would have given 5 stars except for two things: 1. Pillows were 'rock hard'. 2. No proper menus - everything on a QR code which is no good if you haven't got your 'phone with you (after all, this was a beach holiday!); and even the way it was set up made it difficult to browse and get a full view of the overall menus. If nothing else, have one of two paper copies available for people like us (we weren't the only ones complaining about this during our stay).

We had our wedding in the Stella Maris in September 2023. The location and the grounds are absolutely beautiful. From the moment we arrived the staff were welcoming and helpful. We stayed in the Presidential Suite and it was spacious, unique, comfortable and had the most incredible view from the balcony. Our wedding took place in the garden overlooking the sea and we couldn’t have wished for a more perfect setting. Throughout our stay and during our wedding we had an amazing time. The beautiful gardens and beach are ideal for a relaxing holiday and we cannot thank the staff at Stella Maris enough for making our wedding day so perfect. It truly is a piece of paradise. We were sad to leave but cannot wait to return again soon!
