The Cliffside Resort Condominiums

For starters I was looking forward to a beautiful view hotel near the Hampton Bay Area so I booked a one nighter and it was my family and my first time visiting Greenport. However after we paid we received a text with the assigned condo unit .. I called up to confirm the sea view and I was told for the price you paid you won’t be getting a sea view and I was also told I have to call the third party site I booked it through to dispute that issue and “there’s nothing that the resort can do for me”(which is thought was poor customer service) when I arrived after having the third party contact them , they ended up “upgrading” me to a partial sea view which was a very lack luster view. I will say the resort had a mobile pizza truck on the premise this particular day which was serving complimentary pizza to the resort guest. Also the unit did not look dated so we were pleased with the quality of the unit. They also had an outdoor movie which we didn’t stay for but it looked nice. We were only there for one night and There is a 5pm check in and a 10am check out and before checking out my family and I needed a later check out .. I was told by a female named DEVIN at the front desk “no we don’t have a later check out available” So I replied by asking them if it was ok if we left around 10:20 (20 mins later than check out) I was then told “No, unfortunately we need you and your party to leave by 10”. At this point I begin rushing my children to leave .. we left in our pajamas .. hours later I look at my phone (because it was a three hour drive back home) and I see the front desk sent me a text a few minutes after I spoke to them asking for an later checkout stating that they can allow us until 10:30 for check out. The young lady I spoke to could have (I’m sure)easily given us until 10:30 when I spoke to her. Needless to say we will not spend our hard earned money ever again for a subpar customer service experience at the Cliffside Resort Condo’s.

Place was well appointed. Only complaint was bed was not that good. Very updated and unit was great. Would go again. Nice views and great location. Had a wine cooler. Was here for weekend for a wedding.

Over priced with CI 5:00 ridiculous CO 10:00 unheard of. Cracked floor tiles in bathroom. Rude CI help, if you could find them. Coffee maker did not work, could not get food delivered to condos unless you used a delivery service. Toilets were fit for children not adults, lousy tv selection all fake news. Would never recommend this place

This past weekend I made reservations for 2 couples to stay at the Cliffside in order to attend a wedding we are attending nearby. When I booked the reservation I indicated that we were 2 couples and wanted 2 bedrooms with queen size beds. We were shock at the accommodations. One bedroom had a double bed and the other had 2 bunk beds and a twin. Now remember these rooms were for 2 married couples. This was not acceptable. Why are you puttIng adults in bunk beds? A large man over 6’ and more than 200 lbs is not going to fit in a child’s bunk bed. After several attempts and leaving several messages, I finally received a call back from Jade who told me there was no guarantee that we would get 2 Queen beds. I told her this was not what I was told and if I knew we would have a room with bunk beds, I never would have booked there. Advertised as a luxury hotel this is far from it! Your customer service is less than acceptable. What a terrible accommodation you gave us. All others we spoke to who stayed at the Cliffside were give queen beds. So we were lied to. How in the world do you expect a 200 lb. man to sleep in a child’s bunk bed? For the price we paid for this so called luxury resort I am appalled. Additionally, the mattresses were terrible, extremely soft and mushy, only half the shower head worked in one of the bathrooms, there are no mirrors with the exception of a medicine cabinet mirror. Hardly able to look in that mirror when attempting to get dressed for a wedding. After all you did block these rooms for a wedding. The flooring is lumpy and this unit is less than adequate. Not a LUXURY resort! Plus you require 2 nights of miserable stay. The couple who accompanied us left immediately after the wedding as they could not stand one more night on bunk beds. I requested that the resort comp us one night so that I could reimburse the other couple. This request was denied. I will say that we received a 10% discount. Hardly worth it as the room was almost $1000 for 2 nights. Thank you for ruining a weekend that should have been enjoyable and beautiful.

Pretty location and the buildings looked newly renovated, but once we got settled in there were a number of issues. The biggest one was that the shower in the master bathroom didn't work. We tried calling and got no response. Good thing there were 2 bathrooms in the unit. The kitchenette was an afterthought. Aluminum baking pans, but no oven, and a microwave but no microwavable dishes. Ancient looking cook top and dishwasher crammed into the space that both looked like they were about to fall apart. There was no cable TV service for the entire time we were there. Cell phone reception was poor. They had free Wi Fi, but it wasn't secure. The walls must have been paper thin because we could hear everything going in the unit next to and above ours. The only lighting in the living/dining room were the can lights in the ceiling and they were very bright - no dimmer switch. It was OK, but for the price I was expecting something better.

This "resort" is a pretender. It would like to be lots of things that it isn't. I'm just back from a week there with my family. Pros: Apartments are large enough to spread out. One queen and two twins. Our unit had one bedroom on the waterfront and one on the parking lot. Call and check as units have lots of configurations. Beds were comfy. A/C was strong Cons: This venue is Very overpriced. A $50 daily resort fee for ... nothing. There's a pool. Period. It's a secret that there is NO housekeeping. You can't request it. It isn't available. Be prepared to carry your garbage down 2 or 3 flights and haul it to the dumpster. Towels are only exchanged every 3 days...which is also a secret. We (and others) ended up using the pool towels for showering. The pool is very small and super packed all day long. Also a secret...there will be two or three flights up to your room. No elevators. No help with luggage. No ice available. Our unit had many small maintenance issues. Doors that wouldn't open, shower not working. Since they're individually owned everyone seems to have different issues. There's no TV. There are smart TVs which don't work without YOUR passwords for Amazon, Netflix etc. Cheesy. Another secret, there are deals for free nights that some people got on Air BNB. You would never know this from their website. All in all we felt ripped off and will not likely return.
