Ankobra Beach Resort

The beach is fabulous and is where we spent the majority of our time. I understand that the hotel provides tremendous support to the surrounding community and I applaud that and think that’s wonderful. But, to honestly rate the hotel itself, it leaves a lot to be desired. First and foremost, the internet connection is extremely unreliable. I had a weather related emergency at my home during our stay and the lack of internet access caused us a great deal of stress. In addition, the hotel doesn’t provide any amenities in the room such as facial tissues, shampoo, lotion or hair conditioner, which is pretty standard-at least where I come from. The only thing you get is a small bar of black soap, which is good for 2 showers. But, worst of all, the rooms are dark and the bed mattress is too firm. It was like trying to sleep on a bed of bricks. And don’t even think about trying to read because the lighting is horrible. No way does this property deserve the high ratings that it has been afforded. I wouldn’t recommend to anyone, just based on the internet problems alone.

A beautiful place! The resort is stunning, the beach is one of the most magical I’ve ever been to and is completely empty - it’s a real getaway! Paradise! The accommodation (we stayed in the beach huts with the king sized beds) is fantastic! Clean, comfortable and full of character. The food is also delicious - we only ate seafood or the Ghanaian dishes. The only small shame was that they didn’t have everything on offer - C’est la vie. Our only real problem was the generally poor service. There are one or two who are helpful but most of them just don’t appear to have had any training, and when you ask them for something it can quite often appear like you have offended them in some way. I would say that this is a problem at the management level, and if anyone reads this I think they should invest some time here in training. There was however a woman who ran the bar when we were there, who was just plain rude - it was funny to begin with but after a while it got a bit tiring. That being said I would absolutely stay here just be prepared for the service or lack thereof. Also if you have booked through ***********, it says you can check out at 2pm - it is actually 11am.

Grosser Bungalow mit sauberem Bad in einer wunderschönen Anlage mit Palmen, direkt am Meer. Man kann auch baden und schwimmen. Sauberer Strand. Gutes Essen im Restaurant, allerdings mit wenig Auswahl. Personal sehr freundlich und schnell, mit einer Ausnahme. Emmanuel war Klasse, hat uns gut beraten und uns auch manch Interessantes erzählt.

Das Resort ist sehr schön. Verbunden mit der Natur, dem Meer. Einfach wunderschön. Wir hatten in unserem 4 Tage Aufenthalt leider 2 Tage durchgehend regend. Deshalb gab es viele Stromausfälle, und man musste sich gut zu beschäftigen wissen, ohne Strom und herausgehen zu können. Wir hatten die Executive Lodge & diese war zwar wunderschön, aber zum drin verweilen (was man fast musste, wegen dem regen) sehr sehr dunkel. Auch bei schönwetter. Das Essen & das Personal war super! Äusserst höflich, hilfsbereit und lieb.
