We had an amazing 2 night stay at this idyllic location celebrating a special birthday recently. We arrived tired after a long drive but received an exceptionally warm welcome. Check-in was thankfully very efficient and our luggage was immediately take up to the room. The room was beautifully appointed, luxurious with traditional furnishings and had everything we could have wished for. The service was faultless. It was formal but not at all stuffy and the staff were so friendly and helpful. The island offers the perfect escape for a few days complete relaxation with numerous walks and a recently refurbished Spa with and numerous activities available should you wish. We had a wonderful stay and left wishing we had stayed longer... We would most certainly recommend and would certainly return.

The Muthu hotel is a 5-minute walk from the Oban train station, the hotel is 100 years old, not very new, but the location is perfect, better than any other hotel location in Oban, firstly, it is not far from the train station, secondly, the hotel can look at both the hill across the street and the right side of the sea, thirdly, the hotel is only 1-minute walk from Oban's famous restaurant, EE-USK. The rooms directly across from the marina look out over Oban Bay. The hotel lobby is beautifully decorated, and its casual style relaxes people, The hotel soundproofing is slightly worse. Occasionally, you can hear the floor sound of walking upstairs, but it does not affect the rest; also, please rest assured! This is my own personal experience. The staff here are all amiable, and I was very impressed. I highly recommend this hotel to everyone! This place will leave you with great memories of your trip!

All the front desk personnel are the best asset this hotel has. The place could do with an update of their appliances and furniture in their rooms. Soft furnishings are ok. The cleanliness could be a bit better. They lent me slippers so I could use the steam room and it was a great addition to my stay. Overall I give the place a 3/5.

Nice clean hotel situated about 19 miles south of the town of Oban. Spectacular views down the Loch. Nice friendly initial welcome from a Hungarian gent staffer. Clean, well appointed room. Nice airy dining room with a great view down the Loch. Food was good but as is customary these days an over large fish portion was served. One of the best fish restaurants we patronise sensibly offers the option of large and small fish portions an idea which should be considered more widely. Staff attentive apart from the lady who wanted us to go to the bar for a drink because we were five minutes early for our dinner booking or we would have to sit at our table and wait ! We happily sat at the table for said five minutes which was not excessive . Wine price extortionate again as is customary these days. Two small glasses 175 cl came in around £24.00. Overall a good experience which I will certainly consider repeating with nice,attentive staff apart from the lady in charge of the dining area who thankfully was an exception.

I spent one night in Oban with my brother, and we booked the double room. The bathroom was not ensuite but down the hall, but was clean and using it was never an issue. We were greeted upon arrival by a lovely woman who made us feel very welcome, she also cooked us a lovely breakfast the next day before we left. Location is about a 10-15 minute walk from the downtown area but was not a problem at all. For the very fair price (85) compared to the other options in Oban (100+), I feel that I can definitely recommend this location.
