Llulu333100% recommend!!! I always stay in this hotel whenever I come to Shanghai! It's in a great area of the city and right across the road from Changshu Lu subway station (which has two subway lines on). The hotel has many rooms and is spread out on the 18th, 19th, and 20th floors of the building. Which means that there are incredible views of the city! I recommend paying a little extra and getting the room with a window, just for the view! The rooms are very clean with amazing bedding and pillows. You also have a personal TV, aircon, toiletries pack, bottle of water and slippers etc. There are water filter machines on each floor and usually free tea on the lobby floor. The staff are there 24 hours at the front desk, so you can check in anytime. The bathrooms are always really clean, and the cleaning ladies are always in out, making sure everything is nice. Bonus: The famous SYSTEM night club is also in the same building (around 3rd floor). So you can party and then go up to your room on the 19th floor!

The room was spacious, elegant, and beautifully designed, with a modern yet luxurious feel. The highlight was definitely the stunning skyline view—especially at night, the city lights created a breathtaking atmosphere right from the comfort of our room. It was a perfect setting to relax and unwind. The beds were extremely comfortable, with high-quality linens that ensured a restful sleep. The room was impeccably clean, and every detail reflected the hotel’s high standards. The bathroom was equally impressive, featuring a well-designed layout, a strong shower, and a generous bathtub, making the overall experience even more enjoyable. The service was exceptional, as expected from a Ritz-Carlton property. The staff were professional, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. Check-in and check-out were smooth and efficient. The location in Pudong is very convenient, with easy access to shopping malls, restaurants, and key attractions. It is an excellent choice for both leisure and business travelers. Overall, this hotel offers a perfect combination of luxury, comfort, and service. TTellaThe location is great. The room is clean and beds are comfortable. But the service lacks professionalism. When we arrived, no concierge to help take the luggage even though there is no ramp, but 5 or so steps. At reception I said it was my anniversary and do they have any recommendations for a nice restaurant, the receptionist suggested the hotel restaurant and offered cake or fruit. when we went to the restaurant, it was really small and they asked if I had a reservation. I felt like the receptionist who recommended it could have told me we should reserve in advance - a little detail that would have made a big impression. Then, not to sound ungrateful, but at 11:15pm when we were already sleeping, they brought fruit to the room, knocking on the door until we opened up. That was a bit strange to me.

PPengguna TetamuThe hotel is beautiful, situated right on the bund. The breakfast is good and the beds are comfortable. My family and I were travelling through China for 4 weeks, and I booked this place for 4 nights, we usually like to stay in places where we can do laundry, here we had to use an outsourced business to get our laundry done as there are no laundry facilities close by and it would have cost us $500 aud to get our laundry done through the hotel. Just something to be mindful of if you are travelling with a family. However in saying that, the process of outsourcing was only made possible because of the assistance given by the hotel. I’m glad we booked it, the experience overall was great.

PPengguna TetamuWe stayed as a family of four with two children. The Peninsula Shanghai provided us with interconnecting rooms. The rooms were excellent, tastefully decorated and quiet. The amenities (hotel pool and gym) were in very good condition, breakfast was great, and we enjoyed our stay thoroughly. We'll be back for the last leg of our journey and are looking forward to it.

PPengguna TetamuStayed at Banyan Tree Shanghai recently and had a mixed experience overall. The highlight of the stay was definitely the view — absolutely stunning and one of the best parts of the hotel. The room also felt modern with thoughtful touches like the automated Toto toilet system, which added a nice luxury feel. However, there were a few areas that fell short of expectations for a 5-star property. The shower water pressure was quite weak, which made it less enjoyable. More noticeably, the air conditioning didn’t perform well — even when set to 20°C, the room temperature stayed around 22°C but felt closer to 25–26°C. It became uncomfortable enough that I had to request a fan. Service could also be improved. I had 5–6 parcels delivered to the hotel, and while they were collected, the staff did not offer any assistance to bring them up to the room, which felt lacking in customer attentiveness. Additionally, during check-out, there was no effort made to ask about my stay or gather feedback, which was surprising for a hotel of this standard. In terms of facilities, the breakfast spread was above average and definitely in line with what you’d expect from a 5-star hotel — a good variety and quality overall. However, the room itself showed some wear and tear, with visible cracks in the sink, suggesting that parts of the hotel may be due for renovation. Overall, Banyan Tree Shanghai has strong potential with its views and amenities, but improvements in maintenance, service, and guest engagement would make a big difference to the overall experience.

Lokasi hotel ini sangat strategik, membolehkan akses mudah ke tarikan popular seperti Jambatan Waibaidu, The Bund, dan Nanjing Road Pedestrian Street, dengan kemudahan pengangkutan yang sangat baik. Penginapan saya di sini sememangnya melebihi jangkaan. Ia menjadi kejutan yang menyenangkan dalam perjalanan ini. Lokasi yang sangat strategik membolehkan saya berjalan kaki ke Oriental Pearl Tower – ikon popular untuk mengambil gambar – dalam masa 10 minit sahaja. Langsung tidak perlu pening kepala mencari pengangkutan. Kemudahan mengecas telefon pada waktu malam sangat praktikal. Bilik air pula mempunyai konsep kering dan basah berasingan, dengan bekalan air panas yang stabil dan cukup hangat. Selepas mandi, langsung tidak terasa sejuk. Perkhidmatan mereka pula memang tiada tandingannya. Pada suatu malam, bilik saya kekurangan pengering rambut. Saya meminta bantuan, dan staf Xiao Ding segera menghantar pengering rambut lain ke bilik dalam beberapa minit sahaja. Sikapnya sangat mesra. Sarapan pagi juga sangat pelbagai, dengan pilihan seperti pau, telur, bubur, dan wonton yang baru dimasak – rasanya sungguh menyelerakan dan menenangkan. Sangat disyorkan sama ada untuk percutian keluarga atau perjalanan solo. Semasa daftar keluar, kakitangan hotel sangat membantu menguruskan proses daftar keluar dan juga membantu membawa bagasi. Secara peribadi, saya sangat berpuas hati dengan pengalaman menginap di hotel ini, dan pasti akan kembali menginap di sini lagi pada masa akan datang.
