Crown and Castle

We stayed a couple of nights mid-September in room 1, the gorgeous Lighthouse room. The room was spacious with stunning views across to Orford Ness. There’s plenty of storage in the room, and the bathroom is enormous. Breakfast for us, was served in a bright, sunny side room overlooking the terrace. The food was delicious, more than we could eat, and the service friendly and attentive. We also had dinner at the hotel’s restaurant on both evenings and it was perfect. We sat in the bar beforehand browsing the menu and they called us through when our table and food were ready. Again, service was impeccable and the food & wine wonderful. We were blessed with good weather the weekend we were there so Orford was busy, but at the Crown and Castle it felt calm and welcoming. The staff are friendly and acknowledged us throughout our stay with warm smiles, and there seems to be a genuine desire to make every guest feel welcome and we were made to feel like nothing is too much trouble. We had a thoroughly wonderful stay and will definitely aim to stay again when visiting Suffolk.

Fantastic long weekend stay. First time visit but won’t be the last. We were recommended this Hotel by friends and it didn’t disappoint. Our room was lovely, the food was incredible - the chef puts a lot of love in to the food and it’s not the usual same old menu many other places offer. The quality is amazing and so fresh. Breakfasts AND dinners. Sunday roast lived up to the hype. Puddings (which we don’t normally do) were delicious. Huge thanks must go to all the staff as they were all so welcoming. The manager John was a credit to the Hotel and his attention to detail is fantastic. Thanks for a great stay. We will be back!

A visit with a friend to the Crown and Castle Orford. We visited in August 2024 and stayed in one of the chalets on the site (Not the main home). There was un-allocated parking spaces outside the chalet if needed. The chalet we stayed in was both lovely and had very comfortable beds. The hosts were very polite and friendly and breakfast was tasty and hot.

Gem of an hotel in a beautiful village, with excellent but affordable restaurant. Lovely room, that was a decent size with some nice touches.

Fabulous stay at this high quality hotel with very friendly and helpful staff. The winter meal inclusive offer was very good value with an excellent menu - especially the breakfast options.

Excellent short break in a high quality hotel. Location is perfect, food excellent and service of a very high standard. Would highly recommend a stay here
