Braeswick B&B

Three of our engineers stayed here while doing some works on Sanday. They were very happy with their stay, and have sang their praises for the hosts Jon and Maria. We will definitely be putting them up here again next time we have works on Sanday!

This place is the perfect getaway when I stayed it was very clean the WiFi was super and the views around it was perfect I really recommend this place it’s in such a nice area well looked after I stayed with my mates and they loved it aswell we will be coming back

Jon is an excellent host, nothing is too much trouble. All needs are catered. for. The rooms are comfortable and really clean, The bed Linen crisp and welcoming. The food is simple, well prepared and really nicely presented. The lounge/ dining room has lovely sea views and is very calming. When in Sanday this is the go to place to stay !! Thank you Jon for making my stay so pleasant.

Jon and Marie were welcoming and informative hosts. Everything was comfortable and we had a lovely room with views over the bay. We eat each evening their home baked meals a great service as there are very few eating-out options on Sanday. We coincided with Sanday's Soulka (Festival) and our hosts encouraged us to get involved. I needed a novel and was directed to the wonderful Sat morning Reuse shop. A fascinating island and our visit enhanced by Jon and Marie.

Easy to find from the ferry terminal. A very warm welcome from Jon. Very comfortable room with plenty of wardrobe space. Guest lounge with views across the bay. Also dined there both evenings. Excellent choice of food, and a delight to eat. Jon helpful with ideas, maps and leaflets with which to explore Sanday.

A great stay at Braeswick. The rooms were super comfy and the views were outstanding. The breakfast was excellent and everyone was so welcoming, nothing seemed too much. I would recommend this accommodation if you are visiting Sanday, Orkney

A wonderful place to stay if you’re visiting Sanday. Jon is a great host. He looked after us beautifully in every way, including waking us up to witness the northern lights. Breakfast was plentiful, the rooms comfortable and the views awesome! You can have dinner on request. Highly recommended.

Run by lovely Maria and Jon who were very friendly and helpful and are more than happy to chat about things on the island (& other things too!). A lovely layout with a great view over the bay. Fresh cooked breakfast in an open and airy setting. Hello to the very well behaved Angus who is very friendly, loves his ball and isn't a problem at all. The location is at the very south of the island - a lovely setting and handy for the ferry but a drive anywhere else, even to the shops or other areas of population like Lady or Kettletoft. My trip in April coincided with some very strong winds and almost freezing temperatures with hail and sleet meaning most walks on the excellent beaches and (few) hills were out of the question plus many of the places hadn't properly opened 'for the season' so nowhere to get a tea on some days. A lovely island and one I will return to but in (hopefully) warmer weather and when places are open.

What a fabulous B&B. From the greeting and welcome from Angus the spaniel to the most wonderful breakfast, to the bowl of water provided to locate and mend our bicycle puncture, everything provided by Jon and Maria at Braeswick was wonderful. They made no hesitation to accept our request to hold onto our luggage all day so we could cycle round the Island, lightly, before the evening ferry. Fabulous.
