Hotel Orvieto dengan Tempat Letak Kereta

Orvieto sits like an island of tuffa, floating above the valley. The city hosts one of the most spectacular cathedrals in Italy. And along its one mile corso, there are many shops and restaurants offering Umbrian dishes, like the famous cingale (wild boar). The Hotel Palazzo Piccolomini is ideally located at one end of the city, near the entrance from the parking area below. You step out the door and follow the narrow streets onto the main Corso. The hotel is surprisingly large, with a fine lobby of bar and sitting areas. The room vary from small but cozy to large apartment like units. An new ”underground' bar (like a cave in the tuffa rock of the city) was under construction while we were there. The people running the hotel are ready with anything you need, including tips on seeing the best of Orvieto. A very pleasant stay!

L’hotel si trova in ottima posizione, assolutamente centrale a due passi da tutto ad Orvieto. Logicamente il problema del parcheggio esiste anche se avendo letto su Booking che c’era la P di parcheggio non mi sono posto il problema. Risultato: il parcheggè il parcheggio pubblico a 12€ a notte distante 10 min buoni a piedi che con le valigie potrebbero non essere il massimo per persone anziane. La persona alla reception è stata molto cortese e disponibile. Le parti comuni dell’hotel sono assolutamente eleganti e nobili, mentre la camera che mi è stata data era molto piccola, tra l’altro senza scrivania (una minuscola a mezzaluna) che per me che dovevo lavorare con il pc è stato fastidioso. Colazione in una stanza minuscola, con poco assortimento, soprattutto di salato, anche per un tre stelle. Inoltre mi sono seduto ad un tavolo apparecchiato e le quattro posate erano sporche!!!! ma l’ho scoperto tardi purtroppo per me! E pure la tovaglietta di carta monouso non era stata cambiata! Mettere in bocca una posata usata da altri non è il massimo e infastidisce parecchio. La pulizia della camera lascia a desiderare: polvere sui quadri e sulle luci….per non parlare della ventola di aspirazione in bagno (vedi foto) con un dito di polvere …. Non pulita da mesi. Episodio richiesta copia di cortesia della fattura: l’ho chiesta al check-in che mi ha rimandato alla sera. Richiesta alla sera mi ha rimandato dopo cena, e poi mi hanno rimandato alla mattina. Logicamente al mattino quando l’ho chiesta mi hanno detto che me l’avrebbero spedita per mail. Di fronte alla mia ulteriore richiesta che la copia mi serviva subito, la signora, con una notevole smorfia di fastidio me l’ha preparata. Che fatica!!! Solitamente dormo in alcune catene e in quegli hotel sono loro a chiedermi se mi serve la copia di cortesia. Poi non chiedetevi come mai loro lavorano… Il tutto per 95€ più 12€ di parcheggio. Mica pochi. Mai più

Un hotel onesto, il cui ingresso è molto al di sotto del livello dei restanti servizi. Ottimo per essere raggiunto con l’auto, con la possibilità di parcheggiare nel vicino parcheggio multiplicano a prezzi davvero onesti (10€/giorno), ha stanze non enormi ma curate e che offrono tutto quello che un hotel di questa categoria deve offrire. Il bagno è piccolo ma bene organizzato. Unico serio appunto, la colazione. Non per la qualità dell’offerta, che è dignitosa, ma per la rumorosità del locale, oltre il limite del tollerabile e a cui contribuisce il personale, con una strana gestione della posateria, che viene scagliata (quasi…) nel lavello, dopo essere stata ritirata dai tavoli. Erano le 10:00 e mi è venuto il sospetto che fosse un invito ad andarsene, ma se anche fosse, direi un modo curioso e poco civile. Comunque ottimo rapporto qualità/prezzo…

This hotel is extremely well located (though I had a hard time getting there since my GPS wasn't on the best network. It is right next to the Duomo and with lots of restaurant options and stores in the surroundings. I stayed in the annex building which is two blocks from the main building and that is why I am giving them a 4 star reveiw. We kind of felt isolated at the annex rather than the main building. Breakfast is simple but well served. If you drive, they have parking. Undoubtedly, a great option in Orvieto.

So happy we stayed here for our beautiful trip to Umbria! Our stay was so relaxing and very romantic. The wine and food were both fantastic - highly recommend the wine tasting / lunch / spa treatment as we got to learn so much about the organic wine process and enjoy 4 wine tastings. Will definitely be back!

We stayed in this rather quirky guest house for two nights, looked after by the friendly host Francesca. It really feels as if you have been invited into someone's home, as long as you don't mind two well-behaved and friendly dogs sharing the facilities. The rooms are rather dated, but large and more than adequate. We were told that some rooms have self catering facilities; if not, there is a communal kitchen for guests to use. Breakfasts were great; hot food cooked to order and a wide selection of cold items, including many homemade treats. The house has a beautiful garden, with views up to the old city of Orvieto above, and a fine swimming pool. There is secluded path from the rear of the house up to one of the city gates. However, it is very steep and hard going even for relatively experienced walkers, so we agreed with other guests that using it once day was more than enough. The other options are driving or using taxis. Highly recommended.

What a spectacular experience! We visited here for my brothers wedding and it was absolutely perfect. The setting is incredible and so is the service. The rooms are clean. The beds are hard and pillows not great but overall it was a great experience. We prefer cold drinks but unfortunately they were always cold. The reception lady was a bit rude at times too The biggest disappointment was getting ripped off by taxi into town - should be no more than 10euro - we paid 45euro for a 5 minute trip (this isn’t the fault of the hotel though)
