Large comfortable rooms, large deck with a pool for cooling off. Could not have done more for me. Great recommendations on restaurants but also provides a great map of the local areas. I was booked onto all the activities (Merecats were great) by the staff. Super chilled place with a very convenient location.

We were warmly welcomed by Gerry in his amazing guest houses! They were super clean and we slept very well ! Special thanks for all Gerry’s recommendations on the Garden Route ! Do not hesitate to go and enjoy the swimming pool with an amazing view !

Fantastic location, hosts, venue and hosts local knowledge made the stay very enjoyable. Suggested drinks (black mountain gin and windhoek draught), nearby restaurants and road trip were excellent. Missing the Gumtree but great memories to look back on.

I would highly recommend Gumtree Guest House in Oudtshoorn! The place is absolutely perfect, there is nothing I would suggest to change. We stayed as a family with 2 teenage boys and they had their own room with their own bathroom and kitchenette. Our rooms were interleading and both were extremely well equipped. Gerry, the host, is super friendly and helpful and went out of his way to make our stay perfect. The pool area is amazing too and we will definitely be back! It is also super central, so a great base to do your siteseeing. Definitely stay here if you get a chance!

Our host Jerry could not be more charming or helpful. He’s a font of knowledge and nothing is too much trouble. We stayed in places that look more plush, but this was by far superior in every way. Powerful shower, quiet air con and ceiling fan, and the best breakfast.

If you are looking for a great place to stay, don’t look any further- pick Gumtree. Quiet and safe place, lovely and caring hosts, nice pool area, great breakfast including freshly baked bread.we enjoyed our stay very much!

A great place to stay with good outdoor space and shared pool. Easy 5 minute walk to restaurants. Gerry is a great host and advised on routes, stops and places to eat.Room was excellent and tidied everyday. Highly recommend as a place to stay

This was our second visit to Gumtree and we discovered it was under new ownership. The new owners have maintained the high standard and we were delighted to return. Sat Nav still can be a problem as Kerk Street is closed adjacent to the premises, involving a bit of a back track. The effort was worthwhile and we received a warm welcome from Roxy. Gerry was a great host and also provided an epic breakfast before our departure. The location is an easy walk to the town centre and Gerry provides good restaurant recommendations.

We visited this area to see the ostriches and the meerkats. Only stayed one night. Our host was delightful. Engaging, interesting, and not shy about answering questions or sharing information. We would have stayed longer just to converse with Jerry the owner. He also rescued 3 wonderful dogs. Big bonus for me. Very affordable and the best omlette I have ever eaten. He’s the chef also and the breakfast is included.
